Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy upon us, Amen. Grant, Lord, to keep us this day without sin. Blessed are You O Lord, God of our fathers, and praised and glorified is Your Name for ever. Amen. Lord, let Your mercy come upon us, O Lord, for we have trusted in You. Blessed are You O Lord, teach me Your commandments. Blessed are You O Master, make me to understand Your commandments. Blessed are You, O Holy One, enlighten me with Your commandments. Lord, Your love endures forever; Do not turn away from the work of Your hands. To You belong praise, and song. Glory, to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, both now and forever and to the ages of ages. Amen.
@@margaretha907 I agree with you - the olden style is even more majestic as you imply and helps to reflect the sheer glory of God; thank you for taking the time to write; may God bless you.
Beautiful! Lotti's Crucifixus a 8 is probably one of the most intense choral settings I have ever heard and at the same time it's so hauntingly beautiful. A master piece!
just beautiful as usual......this choir understands and musically translates medieval and renaissance holy and secular music for modern audiences to appreciate and enjoy
Superb. One of the best performances I have heard, expressive, true, authentic and inspiring, as it should be, and deeply affective according to the text.
He was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate: He suffered and was buried. And on the third day he rose again, according to the scriptures. And ascended into heaven: and sitteth on the right hand of the Father. And he shall come again in glory to judge both the quick and the dead; Whose kingdom shall have no end.
Glorious piece, glorious choir -- not so glorious mic-ing job, unfortunately. Sounds like it's in mono? And so closely mic-ed that we can't hear any of the amazing reverberation in that wonderful space. But amazing performance for sure.
An interesting fact about British and US-American Choirs is that they struggle with languages other than English. True is that you have challenges with every language that isn't your mother tongue but native speakers told me they love choirs from german speaking countries because they don't struggle with a lot of pronunciation. (Well, my opinion is that germans trying to speak English sounds horrible. But they have something about their Latin pronunciation that is considered as one of the best beneath French and Italian pronunciation.)
Of course we killed god’s son. But god killed our sons first, indeed god was the first murderer to ever be, we learned from him and then we killed eachothers sons. Existence is an act of vengeance and killing. And dont be mistaken, after the judgement and even in heaven there is more killing to be had yet.
What a privilege to sing in this magnificiant place as the Sainte Chapelle of Paris... Wow
Agree
That woman in the middle can barely contain her enjoyment and passion for the music. Love it.

This sounds like perfection.
My only regret is I have but only one like to give to this video.
That low C at the end was phenomenal!
I wonder how many people went back to check it out?
I'm sure glad you typed this.
Check out "Tebe Poem" (a Russian hymn), also performed by this group.
Adrian Peacock is an incredible oktavist. He makes it sound effortless!
A building made to worship God in Latin -- probably the first time this has happened in 50 years
Dei Amoris Cantores made some in Latin too
So magical! 🥺✝️😍
Quel bonheur de pouvoir écouter ces morceaux de musique que j'ai chanté !!

I like your voices, music, songs very much, but ¿Whay do you call yourselves TENEBRA? What does it mean to you?
Nigel Short?
why mono?
Who moved the mic?
Is this tuned to 443Hz rather than 440? It seems lower in pitch. Of course, I can understand the reasons as to why it would be!
Anyone else looking for the person 'pretending' to sing ?
woah nice interpretation, but with a bit less melodyne would be perfect. Awesome production though!!
Go and get Hanna Kappelin, then you will have the best choir there is
Love this piece. You should also check out this singer signing all 8 parts!! ua-cam.com/video/hnFFe3Y47qU/v-deo.html
I want this played on my deathbed if I get that chance and to have a plastic dolly staring at me as I slip away.. 😀😀😀💀💀💀🐍🐍🐸🐹

I guess it is because you subconsciously love baroque arias but you still need time to discover it :-) . Enjoy!

From the movie “Zorro, the Gay Blade”: “There’s something wrong with my bowels?”
