Say what you like about investment...but nearly £3k for just legs is taking the piss and they have zero excuse for charging so much. It's pure greed and taking the gullible for a ride.
The constant "worthwhile investment over years" argument is BS and allows manufacturers the BS excuse to over charge. Whether you have them for 1 year or 20 years has nothing to do with how much they should charge. They're over priced and cost more than super high-tech cameras with complicated electronics and super tight tolerances. These high-end tripod and head systems are great, work great and look great...but they're just mass-produced plastic and carbon fibre tubes. Would I buy these if I had the money? Absolutely. Why? Because they're the best and manufacturers have fixed the market. You have no choice. Doesn't mean they're not massively over-priced and taking advantage because of the "will last you years" excuse.
I would say this... neither of these are cheap and if you already looking at Sachtler you probably already established professional that knows what he wants. I would say don't even bother with 75mm legs. Go with 100mm they might last you your whole career. What you don't need to do is burn 5k on V18 head. You can go with aktiv10 for example and upgrade the head later on. Or just save up for little longer. The ONLY valid argument for 75mm legs should be the smaller size and weight.
What is absolutely hilarious is I bought a WF-6663A tripod for £27 on Ebay and a ex demo Joby 1k Gorrilapod for £15. Both are superb, affordable and solid. I've had professional shooters admire my Weifeng tripod till they see the branding and the gear snob shields go up.
Agree. My Weifeng has seen a lot of use but has never broken down even once in 10 years. For a cheap tripod, I have zero complaints, except for the carrying case it came with, which is shit. Return on investment probably 1000%.There's a lot of snobbery in this industry...
IT"S ABOUT TIME YOU HAVE AWESOME LONGER VIDEOS THAN JUST 2 MINUTES! Good job! ~ I actually subbed because of this video.
10? I expect 50 years of service from a tripod. Is that unreasonable?
Which tripod size and video head size would you recommend for a C70 with a Sigma 60-600 mm for wildlife filming? 7 kg setup.
100mm is overpriced compared to the 75mm. I wish they hadn't been purchased by the Vitec Group
Yes get what you can afford...the 75 is amazing for the price...never look back or regret!
just wanted to know.. a Benro S8 75mm fluid head would sit well on a sachtler 75mm tripod ?
Fantastic video, the 100mm will also allow for additional stability on longer lenses
Your videos are getting doper, and doper. Good work!
Thanks! Glad you’re liking them!
ma man always seems a little down

Nice overview

PS. Not CVP's fault. Nice review :)

This difficult music - why? Makes the video uwatchable.
But £3000 :/
The 75 is under £1000
Yeah it is a big price jump but worth it in the long run if you are going to take advantage of the benefits of 100mm. Jake
Yes I have to say with a top heavy rig, 100mm is much easier to level.
Just order a 100

I think you meant to say 75 millimeter and 100 mm bowls.
