Congrats! You're the first review of ZD3 I've seen 🙂 well done. Nice looking unit but I'm afraid I couldn't really hear a difference in the sound test on an iPad...🙄 Enjoy your videos very much but....PLEASE put something under your speakers to lift them off the desk...which will be singing along with the speakers! Iso-acoustics mini-pucks are brilliant and recommended 👍
I still remember the good old days when you found a dead spider in one of your amplifiers that allegedly served as an op amp. They don't make amplifiers with a built in spider anymore. What a shame...
I'm a huge fan of Fosi Audio and that ZD3 DAC looks like another great product, although I do prefer volume knobs that don't just spin around and around. :)
The dual 12 V trigger outputs seem to indicate that they are intending this to be paired with the ZA mono blocks also. I may just have to purchase this set up soon. Right now I am using an Arylic BP 50 and the Swan OS 10 speakers in my living room set up. It really is a decent set up, but I’m wondering if the Fosi would be better.
I think they should have a baby.Douk for me was a bit warmer and fois a bit brighter. I think it dépends what mood u r in. PS pour vidéos r really good.i appreciate all thé Time u spend on theme. whatching from France.
Thank you. I am currently waiting for a screwdriver bit to fit in the back of an LC 30 to rejig a part they sent me as the indicators on the front. Don’t react too well to the inputs on the back of the switcher.
Great test. Fosi sounds beefier. It has more body. Douk sounds more spacious and it seems to have a wider stage. Both are good. I would like to listen to more tracks and one song with vocals in it to have a good opinion about which on is better!!!! Also it would be nice if you could compare them both to a more well known dac from SMSL and Topping.
i have the za3 where i can use the xlr output of the zd3 but i also want to use my SE headphone amp with it. if there is an option for switching the output between xlr and rca, that would be great. simultaneous output to both xlr and rca would work as well. but if xlr takes priority when rca and xlr both are connected, that would be a problem for my case. if anyone knows anything about it please share. Thanks a lot.

I really love listening to recordings for comparison between items.
The HDMI is very tempting. I couldn't hear much of a difference but they're obviously both capable units.

Looks like a nice little budget Dac, and a nice touch having swappable op amps on such a low cost device.

ZD3 sounds pretty good. Would like to know how much difference it makes using the XLR balanced outputs.

I agree! I do not care for the orange color and, you’re right, the logo does look a little silly.
Tempted, as I have a pair of ZA3's in mono mode. But I like the sound of my SMSL, so not sure about taking the plunge just yet.
BTW, for your sound test, did you use balanced outputs or RCA's on the ZD3 ?
