    How to auto set a gap between dimension line and part line by a default value? Like the one that you have given for dimension Ø203 ± 0.75 in the video.

    Hey there! Is there a visual reference for these options? I mean it is not easy to interpret its descriptions.

    • @CADPLMGuy

      On the Detail Options page in the PTC Help (help.ptc.com) there are a few images, but the descriptions for most of the options are text-based.

    Hi Sir and everyone! Could you please tell me what does the option 'clip_curvee_in_local_full_xsecs' of dtl file do ? I can't see the difference if this option is set to 'yes'or if is set to 'no'. Thanks for your response!

      I've never heard of that one, but it sounds like it will clip datum curves in a Full & Local cross section. I recommend contacting PTC Tech Support for more information.

    Hi ! How to set the number of decimal places for parameter &scale? Currently it shows 0.500 with 3 decimal places. I want it to show 0.5, 0.25 and so on with trailing zeros suppressed. Could not understand view_scale_denominator.

    • @CADPLMGuy
      @CADPLMGuy  5 років тому +1

      Enter the notes as &scale[.1] for one decimal place and &scale[.2] for two decimal places.

    how to make the drawing for non parametric model like step file, with datum axis of hole & rectangular cutout.

    • @CADPLMGuy
      @CADPLMGuy  5 років тому

      Ramesh, you're most likely going to have to create the axes in the imported geometry. Take advantage of Flexible Modeling when you can. Most likely you will need to create your dimensions manually if the imported geometry isn't STEP AP242 with annotations.

    Hello !
    I would like to put a field in the title block that represents the custom scale of the drawing view and not the default scale.
    Can you tell me how I can do this for my templates?
    I have already tried & scale, & view_scale without success.

    • @CADPLMGuy
      @CADPLMGuy  5 років тому +1

      This is very atypical. Is it a view that already exists on the drawing? If so, as you denote, if you could do it, it would be a parameter of the format &view_scale:view_name. That might not work in a table though. Might work as a note.

      @@CADPLMGuy Hello !
      It is not possible to use drawing parameters in a note, it is the message I receive from the program.
      It does not seem to make sense to display the scale of the format or any other than the scale of the view on a drawing sheet.
      Thanks.

      Maybe I’m missing something basic, but why not change the default sheet scale to your desired drawing view scale?

      Hello !
      Maybe because I'm used to doing this in Autodesk Inventor.
      I use standardized templates for formats, but each piece is a piece and depending on the need I choose the scale for each piece that I will detail. In fact the templates have visual basic code that detects the first view scale and places it in the title block. It's very simple.
      For the need to attend a client that changed the platform to the PTC Creo I am trying to learn how to use the features of this program.

      If Layers aren't working for you, contact PTC Tech Support. I had numerous calls and sharing sessions with PTC back in the Creo 4 days regarding visibility management. The intentions were good but the end result was flawed.

      @@CADPLMGuy Thank you, after making the note I used layers to hide. Thank you for the response. I very much appreciate your videos as I am a stand alone charity worker with no tech support sub, so this resource you offer has been invaluable, best wishes.
