Even though it was pretty disappointing, I don't think it hurts the Winter Soldier scene. In that scene, he's trying to prove a point, talking about something so sensitive to him gives his argument weight. Even if it isn't true. Unless, y'know, he trusted Goose like, idk, REALLY a lot in the 8 hours after he met him.

@@sarahsallet6725 uh, that's casting a bigass blanket on a lot of people. I like Brie Larson, but the character of Captain Marvel was not done justice because of how much of a Mary Sue she was. Nothing she ever did and no choice she made led to any negative consequences for her, and thus she doesn't learn anything. Don't shove words into the mouths of people you don't care to understand when there are genuine criticisms to be had of both Larson and the movie

OKAY NOW THIS IS WHAT I NEEDED
People say Brie Larson isn’t that good cos she doesn’t have a lot of facial expression. But personally I think that suits captain marvel as someone who lost touch with the more human side of her.
They're also selectively ignoring about half the movie when they say that. Sure, when she's in "soldier on a mission" mode, she's businesslike and doesn't show a ton of emotion. But there are plenty of other moments when she does.

Yeah, some people try to paint this movie as a complete flop but I thought it was pretty funny and cool.
Random The Gir I wasn’t a fan but I’ll probably check it out again at some point. Other than the controversy surrounding Brie, I think if marvel didn’t hype the character up so much the movie probably would just be considered decent or passable. Also I think after Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Spider-Man Homecoming, Thor Ragnorok, Black Panther, and Infinity War, I think many expected the movie to be much better than it actually turned out.

@@strixx_-4483 the movie is portraying a soldier who has been brainwashed and made to not display her emotions, hence why she is so stoic. The Kree also uses this tactic so they can control her powers, hence why Yon rogg constantly says "control it". I'm genuinely surprised how many people didn't understand this about the movie. Brie Larson did a great job portraying this. In the scene where she finds the old files with her picture as a pilot, she has tears in her eyes, but she doesn't even cry because she doesn't know how to express that emotion properly and moreover, she has a job to do and doesn't have the time.
@Amelia Carneiro Zhu I personally loved how it was executed and appreciated how they handled the theme. Yeah it's not perfect, for example a few of the deleted scenes were good and should've been kept in, but otherwise I love this film and Brie's performance. But to each their own.

No it wasn't, the story had a million plot holes, the characters were bland and completely uninteresting and the main character went through 0 character progression throughout the movie.

i dont get the hate for this movie, i went to see it with my friend and we both loved it, me as someone who knew absolutely nothing about the character apart from what i saw in avengers earths mightiest heroes, and my friend as someone who has captain marvel as one of their favourite characters
edit: it also had hilarious moments, like these, and the skrulls were great, i also knew nothing about the skrulls before this movie apart from theyre normally the bad guys and, again, what i saw of them in EMH, but i loved their portrayal in this movie and how they ended up being the good guys

@@masonheitner8410 You totally missed the point. The writers didn't retcon the story, *Fury* retconned it. He was embarrassed to tell everyone that he lost his eye to a cat (even though it wasn't a harmless cat, it was a dangerous alien beast) so he changed the story, just slightly. Technically, Fury didn't lie in Winter Soldier: "Last time I trusted someone, I lost an eye." All true. He just omitted the fact that "someone" was a flerken, cause it's more impressive and ominous that way.

Higher Further faster more goose didnt actually "scratch out" his eye, it was still there and fine after the scratch, but something in gooses claws probably ended up fucking his eye up over a short period of time after the scratch

Blizzard who gives a shit if it got bad reviews? You can like whatever the fuck you want to, doesn’t matter what other people think. Different story of they went “Yes, the best movie of all time!”. But they didn’t. You can like something that isn’t objectively the best on offer.
One of my favourites from marvel is age of ultron, despite the fact that I know it is far from the best they have to offer. It’s a shitshow. But I definitely think it’s an entertaining one with some incredible moments.
