Thank you Johnny for another absolutely wonderful video. I echo Melvyn Buckton when he says 'This series of videos is really excellent. A joy to watch!' And, echoing Paul O'Brien, Slovenia is now on my bucket list!
Thanks for this, Johnny. I spent a few days in Ljubljana in March this year, including a return rail trip to Villach, on the line which you portrayed in a previous video. Slovenia is a spectacularly beautiful country, with scenery second to none.
Thanks specifically for showing us around that magnificent station at Ljubljana. Even before this video, I had been thinking 'In the modern Republic of Austria, almost all the larger stations have been extensively modernised. If you want to see what a Hapsburg era Austrian station looks like, you have to go to areas which Austria lost in 1918!'
@@Fan652w Yes, it is great to see modernisation and improvement of the railway... and yet it is still equally nice when the old structures are still standing. As you say, it will be areas such as this with less historical investment that will probably still retain these old beauties.
Nice! 🙂 2:20 That is actually going to be the hypermodern new station! ;-) 7:05 you missed the tallest chimney in Europe (360m) at Trbovlje shortly after Litja...
@@ronik24 ah, thanks for that! Be interesting to see the new station when it comes, although it will be a shame to lose the old one. Sorry about missing the chimney 🤷♂️... would have been a good addition to the video! Thanks for watching and for the extra information 👍
Hello Johnny, This comment isn't really related to this video, but more to your entire channel. I suffer from depression and some days are pretty dark. Then I open UA-cam and watch your videos. They make me happy again and the world a little brighter. Thank you very much for your effort and I hope there will be many more videos to come! Your loyal fan from Germany.
@@Pascal2993_H that is such a lovely comment. I am so pleased that my little corner of UA-cam is a good place for you to come when things are difficult. What a pleasant and comfortable journey Johnny. It's so good to see the Slovenian rail infrastructure company Slovenske železnice - Infrastruktura, d.o.o., doing a great job in using EU funds wisely. Hats off to them! I'm with you. External stickers should be banned from buses, coaches and trains. If we can stop this from happening then the next action plan would be to stop the sale of paint in spray cans.

I 100% agree with your comment about train companies plastering the windows with those advertisement foils, even if they maintain you still can see through them, until they feel comfortable enough to plaster them over the windscreen, I'm not buying it. You're guaranteed a massive headache. Such a pity when you're travelling through such beautiful scenery... SNCB does it, too, but only very occasionally, and generally, at least the windows in the doors are kept free... Love that they are improving the railway line, you're right, this is one of Slovenia's main lines, together with the line to Dobova (and Zagreb) and the line to Jessenice (for Villach...), and while not everything has to go at high speed, if buses beat your travel time...
@@barvdw self inflicted graffiti essentially. Not great at all. And yes, nice if the line can be improved so trains can out run the buses! Thanks for watching 👍
