As it is now, there is NO WAY for that to happen, humanity is lacking in the qualities it takes to survive such a venture. So what’s left is left to the imagination, hope and dreams of a future where people can actually get along without having a war monger society or where everyones hatred towards fighting against each other is left far behind in the past. Our society needs to grow up if it ever wants to accomplish anything, and that includes taking better care of this planet…if it wants to explore the universe. This is so much far more important than what our society is currently doing today. How can anyone think about going elsewhere when all they do is continuously contribute their contamination and destruction of habitats, messing up this planet with its garbage, chemicals and corruptive processes and selfish behaviors with their own planet’s resources and ecosystems? This is on a genocidal level, whether going to another planet, or eventually bringing something back from the another planet, which causes further damages to our ecosystems and water resources. Life in space is quite complex and quite unlike what our planet is capable of sustaining…all the life as we know it, upon it. Example: how many species on our planet are living everywhere upon it? You also left out the importance of the letter writing campaign spearheaded by Bjo and John Trimble when they wanted to cancel the series after the second season. Prior to that time, there had been no other TV series that had been saved by the fans. This has gone on to be a Star Trek legacy, as evidenced by the salvaging of the animated series, Prodigy, and that series has been picked up by Netflix.
Soon afterward, a letter-writing campaign was enough to get the kids' live-action show, "H.R. Puf n'stuf" past its first three episodes (when the network suits wanted to cancel it) and picked-up for a full season.
3:35 City in the Edge of Forever was not rewritten by Roddenberry. It was ultimatelly rewritten by D.C. Fontana as the original script was thought unfilmable.
Some of the common household twinklets are often overlooked in TOS. This list include recycled coffee cup lids, jelly beans, and altered sets. Check them out. 😅
Spock WAS perfect in that roll. He did not look demonic... I am also sure that he had more fans than Cptn. Kirk. Although Kirk.... kissed fantastically! By the way, I was looking up info. on those two. They had birthdays VERY close to one another.... A matter of days really.. SAME year also. Both were Jewish. I enjoyed reading about Nimoy....and his life growing up, and at his home, with his Jewish family... "FASCINATING"... Shatner never mentioned his upbringing, that I know of. I would like to know how he was brought up.
The greatest anger I ever experienced as a child (or one of the greatest anyway) was when Star Trek was cancelled to cover a Gemini launch. Sort of ironic I suppose to react in such a way to having a piece of science fiction delayed in order to cover some actual science. For those who do not remember the time before cable, we only had three channels plus PBS and if there was a manned launch it was covered on all three networks. Not sure about PBS, it rarely had anything worth watching.
Why are you making the comment about Spock's saying to Janice Rand about evil Kirks attraction? It was episode in a TV show. It was written in the script. Whether he approved it or not he had to say what was written. Back in the sixties was a time when sexual innuendos weren't taken as seriously as now. People today have got to quit judging things from past by today standards, they were different then. Oh, don't call me a male chauvinist, I happen to be female & proud of it.
In the books. The Yeoman was only 15 year old, who except from Sherman Plant with her 11 year sister. She lied to help her sickly sister. Yes, she was extremely smart and tryed her best to aid her captain. Even to the point to become part cabinboy and clean, bring his meals and inform the good doctor on his well-beings. To Bones great delights, having a inside girl watch him. Bones was the only crew member who know of her true age. It was a steal shame the writers did not fellow up on her greater degree and insight. Maybe in a remake. 🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊

Thank goodnes they got three years of production in before it was shut down.. Kudo to Mr. Roddenberry for his tenacity to press on... It changed t.v. forever... Thank you .. ❤ 👽...
Since these things were behind the scenes, and non-show events, how could a fan notice? I thought maybe the video would be about things I could have noticed but missed. Things such as royalties paid to a composer are not what I was expecting.
Spock wasn't everyone's favorite..Whatever Mr.Shatner is real life he a space age sea dog on his way to his next big adventure. He supplied the real energy and everyone else reacted.
I was in my late teens when Star Trek started. Mr Spock WAS INDEED more popular than Shatner. And on any given day, you could hear students high school and college students on buses or subways talking about Mr Spock. Shatner's egocentrism was the problem in the show. He was always chasing after writers and directors to ask for changes for cameras to focus on him, whether he was talking or not. You seem to be hero-worshiping a tad too much.
@@RubenAndujar-t5w Mr.Shatner is an actor playing a role. I never confuse the actor with the role he playing.I don't admire actors for anything but their acting skill. The Kirk character was a like the privateers of Queen Elizabeth called collectively the Sea Dogs that raided the Spainsh main and explored the world. The English tradition of bold sailors continued throughout the age of sail accomplishing almost unbelievable exploits of daring do .Lord Cochrane who was Scottish lord with a shady reputation was a true hero in Latin American Wars of Liberation. Kirk was that type of guy .Cochrane was a raider type that specialized in lighting raids always doing the unexpected and unbelievable. In sense in the Kirk character that same audacious spirt. Cochrane was a great raider but was too impetuous and man of action to be a good Admiral, I think Kirk would have been the same way not someone who like staff work.
The captain was an extremely dynamic individual. Spock was second in command to him as first officer. Spock had no delusions or aspirations for the captains chair. They were close. As close as you can get to a Vulcan. Everybody I knew enjoyed Spock's content in each episode and movie, and book. But you need the Trio, Kirk, Spock and Mc Coy to have what they brought to the screen, or something was sorely missed. Then add the other regular characters in varying amounts, and you have a show. It was those three that worked toward each solution and reminded one another. No other attempt in Star Trek has been quite like it. The Trekkies I know, say similar things about it. If they don't call themselves Trekkies, consider they are different.
Network executives were idiots that couldn't see a billion dollar franchise sitting right there in front of them. We can only imagine the episodes they would've produced if allowed to continue with a better budget.
"Fans Never Noticed These Things about Star Trek" (Maybe fans born after 2020) because we TRUE fans already knew all of this and then some..... 8 minutes you should skip....
Shatner did explain he had a big charity event scheduled for that day of Nimoy's funeral that would have destroyed the event if he cancelled. Certainly was a believable story. In the final year of Nimoy's life he didn't want his son to watch him die although allowed him to visit in the final days. I think that makes sense more than a sudden division between the two. I met Leonard Nimoy in 2010. I was so star struck I could barely look at him and only spoke about Shatner returning to Star Trek, not Nimoy at all. He was very kind and didn't treat me like many would, negatively or put off. I believe kindness was the reason for the separation between these good friends. In contrast I also met the actor Malcolm McDowell that murdered the Kirk character by saying Shatner should be returned to Star Trek. He looked at me like I was some sort of freaky fan that believed his character was really his personality. Well, it was true but why does he almost always take roles of the villain like in Clock Work Orange? He didn't like me because I didn't want to talk about him I would say. Met Brent Spiner and said the same thing also complaining about Data being killed off. He played right up to me saying," Ya they are killing us all off". I later read Spiner wrote and put a great deal into the movie Nemesis of when Data was killed off. It was his idea basically. He was still very nice to me, the poor fool I was.
What always puzzled me about Star Trek was that I never saw any toilets (restrooms) on the Enterprise. What exactly did crew members do when they needed to relieve themselves? This problem intrigued me for years, until 1979, when I availed myself of the lavatory in the library at Cardiff University. There was graffiti on the toilet wall that stated: 'Captain's Log, star date 23031979: beamed down for a shit'. Problem solved!: they defecated on the nearest planet. There was even a postscript to the graffiti: Checkov had added: 'Captain, shall ve use da bog paper to vipe out de klingons?'

It assumes viewers are not observant, it suggests the video is about STAR TREK, then shows clips which are not from STAR TREK, and everyone who starts to watch this will see straightaway that it’s unwatchable due to DISTORTION by being presented in the wrong aspect ratio.
According Herb S. one of the Executive Producers, NBC never objected to Number One being a woman. They objected to Majel Barrett playing the part because one they didn't think she go enough in the role and two they knew Gene was having affair with her and at that time didn't want it to apart of the cast. Gene told people NBC didn't want a woman in the role instead of wanting to tell the truth. Later he re-cast Majel to be nurse Chapel with a blonde wig thinking the execs wouldn't recognize her. But really by that time the execs didn't care because they knew the show wasn't going to last much longer on air. Funny.

This has gone on to be a Star Trek legacy, as evidenced by the salvaging of the animated series, Prodigy, and that series has been picked up by Netflix.
I was 14 and I wrote and sent one of those letters.
Soon afterward, a letter-writing campaign was enough to get the kids' live-action show, "H.R. Puf n'stuf" past its first three episodes (when the network suits wanted to cancel it) and picked-up for a full season.
"Spock seemed satanic . . ." which they even used in an episode 'The Omega Glory'.
3:35 City in the Edge of Forever was not rewritten by Roddenberry. It was ultimatelly rewritten by D.C. Fontana as the original script was thought unfilmable.
no it was rewritten by Roddenberry too
De-Sulu? Desilu! Ok, this is bogus.
At 2:20 seconds that scene was from Plato's Stepchildren, not a Private Little War
De Sulu ....... I didn't know Mr. Sulu manned the helm and produced the show.
IN SPACE SEED, KIRK GETS THROWN AROUND & MAKES A HOLE IN THE WALL FROM HIS FOOT IN ENGINEERING ROOM.
This needed a different voice over person.
emphasis on Person
More like a different voice-over robot.
Yes, it was Desi Lu, after Desi and Lucy Arnez (or later Ball).
So, the studio was Desilu, this is short for Desi Arnez and Lucille Ball. So it's pronounced Dez-ee-lou.
And if the president was on, your night was shot. We're gonna miss Flipper!
Some of the content and the concepts of the show are still ahead of its time.
They had pretty crappy cell phones if you asked me.
I'm surprised yeoman Rand's hairstyle didn't catch on.
Incorrect aspect ratios are all over the place in this video
Its a miracle StarTrek ever aired at all...considering all the "taboo" subjects they covered..i.e. ( the us of an interracial crew..the interracial kiss....the scantily clad women..and the use of violence.( shooting people with lasers and the variousfight scenes was not what people were used to...also the Science fiction genre was not a popular subject to air on t.v. back in the sixties...
Yeah, same here! This video wasn't well prepared!!
Love the show
Spock wasn't everyone's favorite..Whatever Mr.Shatner is real life he a space age sea dog on his way to his next big adventure.
Why in a video about incorrect facts and things, do we still get pictures that have been flipped, for some unknown reason.
Nonsense without true facts! Don't waste your time on this video. Too many inaccuracies...
Network executives were idiots that couldn't see a billion dollar franchise sitting right there in front of them. We can only imagine the episodes they would've produced if allowed to continue with a better budget.
Man, your voice is kind of unique.
I would have gone with robotic and annoying - in the "SHAM-WOW!" kind of annoying.
It's long time common knowledge that Shatner was a bit of a Prima Donna.
Your facts are uncoordinated:
I was wondering if "Star Trek" started out in black and white or color.
always colour, why the uniforms are so bright
Desulu Studios???? You mean DESI LU Studies a combination of Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball.
So what if Gene had extramarital affairs? Heck, that was years ago!
Mentions "A Private Little War" while showing a still from "Plato's Stepchildren"... really?!?
So many inaccuracies in this. Thumbs down.
The rest as they say is history 😊
You don’t see toilets in “Star Wars” either. That’s where no one wants to go.
So that's what they meant about boldly going where no man has gone before.
Perhaps they were very constipated.
Not to many shows out there featuring actors taking dumps. Just sayin 🤷
The original blueprints didn't have water closets anywhere! We've been joking about it since then.
Drinking excessive amounts of alcoholic drinks is not logical.
Spock...I'm human damn it.
Oh dear STILL not getting your facts right. For goodness sake
do some proper research.
George's Run is a wonderful new book on Star Trek and many related subjects, primarily The Twilight Zone. I highly recommend you check it out. I'm a Star Trek expert, at least to some extent. Always something new to learn, I'm sure. This is a great video!
A great video? Ummm ok. I guess since you're a self-professed Star Trek expert, you would know. 🤔
what is mad is that Eddie Paskey gets ZERO mention? he did 60 episodes. Sulu 52, Chekov 32. i'm not sure how they count it? films and tv cartoon. but Eddie Paskey is INVISIBLE? i recognize him. and can't remember a big scene with him. Sulu and chekov had almost extras roles?
Yeoman rand had 8 appearances.
we tend to think they are in almost every episode?
Who slapped on the arbitrary footage that’s totally unrelated to the visuals. Unwatchable
If you'd like to read the Harlan Ellison original script for The City On The Edge Of Forever, see if you can find the book [paperback] Six Science Fiction Plays edited by Roger Elwood.
video is an excuse to monologue...
This video seems to be narrated by AI, hence the Desilu mispronunciation.
The studio name is NOT "de Sulu". My god. It is pronounced, [deh zee] (as in Desi Arnez). [lou] as in Lucille Balle
bizarre ending to your video...
It’s videos such as this which are a complete waste of space on UA-cam.
It assumes viewers are not observant, it suggests the video is about STAR TREK, then shows clips which are not from STAR TREK, and everyone who starts to watch this will see straightaway that it’s unwatchable due to DISTORTION by being presented in the wrong aspect ratio.
Delete a script?? How did he do it? No pc computers way back then. Duh!!
Funny.
Google Lucille (LUCY) Ball & Star Trek - she saved the series - surprised it's not mentioned in the video.
no she didn't total myth
WTF are you mixing different generations of the series (?)
Old stuff here...nothing new.
DeSULU Studios? Combine all sorts of mis-pronounciations like that with the total lack of awareness of Aspect Ratio changes and what we have here is just schlock.
Yeoman Janice Rand
Till this day you have been and always will be remembered in a special way
just a few reasons why
I thought there was no power in the galley
I grabbed a hand phaser and zap hot coffee
You always look great in uniform I hope it's ok to say this
I very much like the scene where you are adjusting the trycorder strap on your left shoulder
your smile that happy look you would have , the way you talk
I never did just watch Star Trek .
The video footage that is not Star Trek is out of place.
"sabatage by NBC" I don't say sabotage
Back in the 60 they had to deal with white supremacy heavily. Like having to cater to the stone ages with a futuristic show.
for f****s sake. Want a video determined to bore you and never show "things fans never notice"? This is for you.
Self-contradictory half truths, gossip and outright misinformation
Whats at 5:04??? Interesting!
So stupid seeing Star Trek the Next Generation photos while the commentator is talking a about the original series!
drivel
So much here that is incorrect foisted on the unknowing. Please don't take any of this as fact.
The inter racial kiss happens in platos children and not a private little war . You aren't very familiar with the episodes
I wonder if that scene with Sulu and Uhuru is as close George Takeii ever came to a woman. He looks uncomfortable in it. LOL.
Shatner was a real pain in the studio and off camera.
Oh heck I think both of them were having fun for once actually having more to do than one liners.
I saw the 1st episode
I'm sorry, but these poorly scripted, ineptly narrated videos make me appreciate Trek Culture SO much more. This idiotic narration hasn't seen an ounce of grammar editing and it makes me want to remove my eardrums.
Imagine trusting your life in a star ship not built for quality but for diversity inclusion equity rules.🚀🛸
I love Shatner, but he was a jerk.
The voice of the narrator is far to raspy. Annoying. Only watched a few minutes.
Poorly put together + multiple errors = AI crap.
Unwatchable for lots of reasons but, fucking up the aspect ratio of the video is sin number one.
DE-SULU Studios @ 3:03? Really? REALLY? Get narration that knows how to pronounce names correctly!
So basically, despite how much we love these characters in the series, in real life they're narcissistic a-holes. What else is new?
