@@GiygasTheUnbound That's right, but not everybody had an Xbox or Gaming PC on 2008 to 2010, this were the only games nearly any computer could run, even computers with just an intel atom chimp en 2GB of Ram. Epic duel was also very good. I live in a 3rd world country, and this was my only and first mmorpg where I could collaborate with other players against bosses. WoW is better, but very expensive, at least AE had options for free players.
The tools that they used and some program where about to be phased out so they had to take a bit of a break from the game in 2012 to remake it in steam android and IOS in 2014, from 2014 to today is what you currently see right now in AQ3D
And AQ3D is STILL in Beta without any kind of player housing like AQWorlds had, so that tells you everything, the new updates also suck and the game plays worse on mobile than on desktop
I personally love these guys. So energetic and enthusiastic about there game and world lore. Its all about having fun which is why i love this team. And through them i also learned of Voltaire so thats always a plus!
I thought of something else. Adam, if you see this, I would appreciate it if you made items that will go rare more obvious. When I found out about Chunin and Dragon Shinobi, they were gone. Maybe you could make a pop up when someone logs in. "This many days until this item goes rare, so act now!" or something like that.
It's not like that. Every free to play game has micro transactions and some sort of merchandise. But unlike most mmos out there nowadays, and simple online multiplayer games, that rely on pay to win or even go to the point of making you "pay to play the rest of the game" by limiting players content, AE's games do not. The merch is unique and original compared to most out there (that usually are pretty much just a few T-shirts or posters) and the paid items are fancy cosmetics. You are not financially binded to enjoy the game at its core. You can experience their games at its max and fullest without spending a dime, with just a few cosmetic limitations and more time spent in game than others, because that's what they do. They want people to enjoy AE's games the way each one wishes, individually. They simply allow pay for convenience, because even the premium currency that's used to boost you up and acquire premium cosmetics, can be slowly unlocked for *free* through daily login chests (as far as I know in AQ3D).
@@not420blazeit also if the people complaining is talking about the premium access to other things like Guardians no need to enjoy the game with that...the class is literally not like a pay to win concept but another fancy skillset that can still be beaten by the simplest of classes
Ash literally worked on DragonFable for free, so not surprising in the least that they underpay wherever they can get away with it, also literally a small indie company so little to no resources for reporting abuse / harassment / etc.
If only AE listened to the community and actually TRIED to focus on AQW and make it better. Now it's all about cosmetics and pay to win bs *sigh* And now the game's practically dead averaging only 2k-3k online players : ((
Well, he's talking about AQWorlds, not any of (some) the old games where one $20 payment was a lifetime membership. I don't really respect AE's monetization of Adventure Quest Worlds. It is a business decision meant solely to suck every penny out of players who want more. You take a look at other games and the same amount members are spending on both in-game currency AND limited-time memberships, and it rivals the amount they'd be paying for games with almost infinitely more content.

you have to pay for membership which gives you some extra items and areas. then theirs adventure coins which can be earned but it's a lot faster to buy them for example getting the necromancer class you can ether earn it which takes quite awhile or buy some adventure coins and get it much quicker so while theirs some cool perks for spending a few bucks you can still have fun without spending a dime as most stuff is still available
+Crimley LOL you do realize that there are TONS of free to play games to play that are great and don't try insanely hard to get your money, right? And with real games, at least it's just like a one time payment of 70-90 bucks or whatever (typically 60$ with old gen), and 50 bucks for a seasons pass that gives you all dlc. They dig deep with aqw by forcing you to renew your memberships and continuously buy AC's if you want to get new outfits and classes
+Crimley Ok but there are tons on tons of armors that you're not even allowed to work for because they're either only accessible to members or bought through ac's. And if you never get ac's or buy a subscription, you'll end up looking like everyone else. Idk about budget though, I can't really argue about that. You do have a point
+Crimley I definitely tried some of those as a kid but I'm pretty sure I never met the requirements, like I think you need a phone number for some and stuff like that? But maybe I could try now, thanks
