I got all correct. It was easy but helpful! And more helpful were,at feast for me, the exclamations! Very good job, teacher! Your site is one of the best! Thank you very much!
Your provide the explanation for your chosen answer, which is much appreciated. But I don't believe that negates the fact that other choices might also be gramatically correct, since many of the sentences are phrased in a manner that allows for more than one correct verb-tense answer. Question: #1: Answer A also grammatically correct, is it not? #4: B also. #5: B also. #11: A also. #14: B also.
Thanks for your comment and I take your point. Often with English grammar it depends very much on how the speaker views the situation in determining which tense is used. I have tried to use words which indicate the way the speaker is thinking but the sentences are necessarily quite short , so other answers may be possible with a stretch of the imagination. Also, this test is based on British English and rules of using present perfect and past tense may be slightly different to American English. For example, 'Oh no, I lost my wallet' would technically not be correct in British English, where we would prefer 'Oh no, I've lost my wallet' (present perfect). However, in US English, I guess this would not be a problem. 🙂
That's a good question. It's true that some text books say that you can only use 'were' after wish and not 'was'. In practice we can use both. I tend to use the Cambridge Dictionary when I am in doubt. They say you can use either 'was' or 'were' so that's good enough for me. 😉

Question 15: Shouldn't it be "WERE" instead of "WAS", considering it is an imaginary second conditional sentence? That is what English text books say.
