My grandfather has one of these and an old record player in the garage. I 14 asked about it. He's had it forever and it don't work sadly but it's a cool piece of history
Wow! What a beautiful radio. Like you, I really like the corner speakers (especially on Zeniths), but they are sooooo easy to put a meat hook through! Those pre-set buttons are nice, too. Really nice work, Larry. I sure have missed your vids. I hadn't watched much UA-cam lately, and what a treat to see something new from you. As always, your work is excellent. I'm going to watch Part 2 right away. Cheers! Michael
Thanks Michael! Really good to hear from you… I miss ur videos, I learned so much watching you do all those great radios! Take Care and talk soon! Larry
Thanks Gregg! Hopefully, part two will be out in a few days…. i have another video coming soon, as I have given you a sneak peak of it earlier. take Care-Larry
Thanks Don! Part 2 is uploading now…nothing exciting but a good look inside. Somehow, I had missed ur comment and just now getting around to answering…I’m really enjoying ur latest video and someday, I need to get with you and figure out a coil winding apparatus….Take are-Larry
Thanks! This one was pretty much a recap, there was a mod I reversed from a previous repair in the past. Stay tuned, you will see where a past technician made a repair, may not be up to todays standard, but they did what they had to do at the time to get it repaired. 😉. Thanks for watching and commenting! Take Care-Larry
Doug, it has been a lot of fun, it was in really good shape, had one hack in it, but found it and hopefully corrected it. Thanks for watching and commenting… Take Care-Larry
I find the curly q easy, and it works well. I prefer unsoldering and replacing the leads. That method has a lot more risks involved with collateral damage when working than the curly q. I think I like that method, because it takes more time and seems more like therapy to me. Thanks for watching and commenting! Take Care-Larry
Thx! It was in pretty decent shape to begin with. Basically a recap, and some Howards. i did find where someone bypassed the rf amp tube, not sure why unless that was the tube I found that was dead….

I use the curly q method as well. It"s easy to dis- assemble if you need to.
