  • Do you love the Texas Roadhouse rolls? These are easy to make, and they taste delicious. These slightly sweet rolls are amazing to make. You can make these homemade yeast rolls and they will taste just like they do in the restaurant.

    ingredients
    1 cup warm milk (100 degrees)
    1 package or 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
    1/3 cup sugar
    3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for the board
    1 egg
    1/3 cup butter, melted plus 1/4 cup butter, melted (optional) (unsalted is best, salted butter is fine to use)
    1 teaspoon salt
    Honey Cinnamon Butter
    1/2 cup softened butter (salted butter)
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    2 tablespoons honey
    2 tablespoons powdered sugar
    Instructions
    In a cup or small bowl, stir together the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Allow the yeast to proof and begin to activate while you prepare the other ingredients. (This is not necessary, but I prefer this to using milk cold out of the refrigerator). Using a stand mixer or food processor, combine the flour, egg, 1/3 cup melted butter, and salt. Add the milk mixture and process until you have a smooth dough; it will be stickier and wetter than regular bread dough. Place the dough in a greased bowl, turn the dough to grease all sides, and cover with a towel. Let rise until it has doubled in size.
    When the dough has doubled, punch it down and turn it out on a floured board. Let rest for 10 minutes. Roll out the dough into a large, flat rectangle approximately 1/2 inch thick. Cut into 16 portions with a sharp knife and place on a greased baking sheet and let rise again, until doubled. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake the rolls for 10 minutes on the greased baking sheet. They will be light brown when removed from the oven. If desired you can brush the tops of the rolls with the remaining 1/4 cup melted butter before serving .
    Prepare honey cinnamon butter by combining butter, cinnamon, honey, and powdered sugar until well blended.

    Great Rolls! Not exactly like Texas Roadhouse but very close. They are a good desert if you glaze them with honey. Also: I let the dough triple in size for the initial rise and skipped the second rise but did let them rise when I cut them and they turned out great too.

    Just made these. I made them into little balls instead for a traditional roll look. Just had to increase the time a bit though. Thanks!

    About a year ago I ate at the Texas Roadhouse in Prescott, Arizona for my birthday. But I don't remember seeing these! Do they give them to you before your meal, or how do they serve them?

    Nice elevator Muzak, makes me wanna pour a glass of Merlot and light up a Virginia Slim and twirl my fake pearl necklace while reposing in my Broyhill Stratolounger. After which I might get around to making this too, it looks delish. ☺

      patti mincher I don't know, I would have to try that, to me, the yeast takes on a slightly different flavor in its subsequent generations.

    i do not understand why people do not include measurements in the video ive watched like 5 videos all i want to do is make dinner rolls wtf?

    • @StephanieManley
      @StephanieManley  9 років тому

      +jeneva best the link to the recipe is included in the description of the video. I don't use a script and I don't want to mess up on the ingredients.

      Under the video, where it says "See More" is the recipe. Just print it out.

    • @StephanieManley
      @StephanieManley  8 років тому +1

      Again, I can't to back and easily edit the video. So if I mess up on a measurement it sticks forever. I understand your inconvenience, it's hard to click for more information to get a free recipe. Maybe you write everything down awhile I am talking. That might be more difficult than using something that's easy to read.

    This seems more like a biscuit than a roll. It’s about the lack of chewiness/elasticity. I’ve worked there and order them constantly so I know. Thanks though. 💞
