Miami hit a home run hiring Mario Cristobal as their head coach. Not only was he a player and assistant coach during their glory days, but he's also a former Nick Saban assistant at Alabama, and a great recruiter in the talent-rich area of South Florida. They've checked every box for getting their program back to their top standard

Great Video my dawg, College Football is definitely better when the U is better. Howard Schnellenberger and his cigar definitely started the foundation of this program.
@@GovernorofCollegefootball thank you for the support KT
It was a pipe actually, not a cigar
Jimmy Johnson would have had a run like Saban
Excellent video, my dude!

Great video! We got some canes over here!
The times have been dark for Miami. But everyone loves a come back story. And college football IS better when Miami is doing well. We are the team everyone can hate on and we thrive. Floridamen all day lol
@@MrGrombie great comment thank you for the support ❤️
Absolutely. Every sport is better off when its blue bloods are contending. Perfect example, the World Series this year.
The polls really do love you though
@carsongodwin first time in 20 years, after we have a heisman front man QB transfer.
It's not like it was over night. 😅
Great video!!!! GO CANES! IT'S ALL ABOUT THE U!

@@chrisgonz9963 definitely should've in 02 they robbed Miami. Thank you for the support ❤️
And 1988 when we got screwed vs Notre Dame.

great video bro
Nice history - but let me say this Canes fans - Please do not use term were back !! We will never be back. We be NOW !! The team of the eighties is just that, let's be the team of NOW.
Create and establish a new identity, be relevant, and and put in the work. The results will speak for themselves - 2024 will be a special year, it's right there so go get it !!
State Champs 🙌🏼🏆
Everyone seems to overlook the 2 years that Lou Saben was here before Schellenberger. Saben came in from the Buffalo Bills of OJ Simpson days, thus OJ Andersons path to fame, Jim Kelly, Jim Bert, Freddy Marion and other Notables that Howard inherited. Yes championships came to Schellenberger, but Saben and even Carl Selmer started the ball rolling with bringing in Ottis Anderson, George Halas, Eddie Edwards, Don Smith,. Check the rosters that were passed along, before the rings started.

The U 🙌.
Butch Davis left while he was at the precipice of greatness!! Had he stayed at Miami he’d of had a run greater than Nick Saban’s.
@@terminatorx6230 greater than nick saban???????
I'm a Canes fan, but back then with those Coaches, it wasn't all about the U, it was all about the $$$$.
@@jeffwood7642idk bro bro we got them sanctions round the same time and butch ended up getting some legendary players to come to Miami still even as walk ons
@@justjalen2700 at that time, yes! Butch Davis probably had the best eye for talent this side of Jimmy Johnson. The 2001 team was built with a few 5⭐️’s but mainly 3 and 2⭐️’s that blossomed. It wasn’t until Pete Carroll that another CFB coach sat on as great a number of NFL ready talent as Butch Davis. To add to it, all of them were motivated self starters.
UM has had great teams starting in the 1950's the program always has good eras followed by terrible ones.
Really good job with this video! One little thing through. Ken Dorsey was all that. Ask Kenny Kelly, Mr Florida football. Make a video about that!
Ken Dorsey was certainly not the weakest starter
& when they ran out of the smoke too
The bess Men end records WOW impresionante 😲😲 left Cane from Reading Pensilvania
ND vs Miami was an amazing rivalry when they were both at the top.
I been noticing college players have been celebrating when they score a touchdown just a little bit!...u fools meaning those players u know the canes did it first & best.....i luv it when canes players celebrated.. awesomer man.
Real Talk Go Canes Go Miami More To Come
Great video. Small correction at 1:40. Schnellenberger's recruiting strategy wasn't to own "the State of Florida" -- rather, it was to own "the State of Miami", which was basically Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Monroe and Collier counties. The idea was that FSU and UF weren't going to get their claws into the State of Miami to poach the best -- the best were going to go to Miami. Anyone else we could get that was a top player from central or north Florida was gravy because he knew the talent in the State of Miami was limitless. When Howard left, Jimmy took it to the next level and got even more great players.
@@zoso73 thank you for the support ❤️ and great comment. Yeah I assumed that the most important part of recruiting for him was winning Miami
Hold on , imma let you finish but the 7th floor crew, had the best song of all time

The Canes were on probation during the 1981 season.

Ah yes, the video claiming resugence of the program any time the Canes are off to a good start. We back and all.
Will fall back next yr. Coach cant recruit or develope a QB. Got lucky with Ward because of NIL. Next yr.....same ole Miami with him in charge. Dont kid yourself
Hope you wrong but you may be right
They got a transfer quarterback they will be crap again next year
@@nicholaskolos-wu4wg maybe. Thanks for the support ❤️
But still looking for a signature win for 20 years. This year included...you have never been back.
What are you drinking and smoking. Miami has had some good signature wins the last 20 yrs. They are back thanks to Cam Ward and Mario Christobal.
