    I got mine for $530 shipped from Morris 4x4 back in March. It looks great and works perfectly with the TRD skid plate and weighs less than 40 lbs.

      Nice... but 40lbs just for the bumper correct? My total weight between the bumper, winch and lightbar is 165lbs which lowered my front end and now I have to do a lift... it never ends. lol... thanks for tuning in Mike!

      @@props-model-shop There's quite a bit of selection on amazon.com. As long as the specs are similar to it (www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0185FOTL2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1), you should be ok. No wires or connections were present or taken out from the crashbar so I'm not concerned about it. My real concern though is the amount of damage that it will cause in the event that I hit something head on as the crashbar is made out of aluminum and very light and this bumper guard with the winch is 165lbs combined so it could cause some damage. Hey thanks iamalemontree! I have the Nitto Ridge Grapplers actually. It was a toss between that and the KO2s. I read a few reviews that the KO2s were a tiny bit noisier compared to the Grapplers so I took a gamble. So far, it's paid off and I'm very happy with it (not that the KO2s would have been a bad choice as you won't go wrong either way). It performs well on paved road and offroad. Crawls through rocks, sand, mud without issues. For daily driving, it's great. No issues on snow or slush or rain either. IMO, I thinks it's even a little quite compared to the factory Goodyear that came with the truck. Also, I prefer the look of it a lot more than the KO2s but again, either will be a good choice. This is the combination I am considering for my Tacoma - how hard is it to plug in the controller to the winch once it's all installed? Is the winch accessible by opening the hood, or do you have to come from underneath? Also, about how much did the front end drop with the added weight? Did you get the truck realigned after adding the weight? I still have my stock suspension (TRD Off Road) and don't run oversize tires.

    • @modXELA
      @modXELA  3 роки тому +6

      Hey Dan, great questions! Plugging in the controller is not an issue which you have to access from the top by opening the hood. I'm only 5'7" and I can reach in from the front with no issues (at least until I lift my truck). Alternatively, if you can securely mount the controller somewhere in the front bay area, that would be good too so you won't have to be plugging/unplugging all the time. I'm choosing not to do this for now as I'm afraid of losing it. Before the winch/bumper install, I was able to get rid of tire rubbing (on 33's with CMC) but I am now experiencing some rubbing due to the 165lbs added weight causing a drop. I don't want to replace my Fox 2.5 coilovers yet so I am going with the Tuff Country 51025 kit (front strut spacer and rear AAL) which will give me 1.5" lift. This should take care of the rubbing. You'll be fine with your 265s!

    • @modXELA
      @modXELA  3 роки тому +1

      Great question Christopher. A mounting plate was actually provided with the bumper system. However, it gets installed where the fairlead is so that wasn't an option for me. I could get a plate mount that flips up when using the winch (which is actually a very good option) but I didn't like the look of it so until I get pulled over for not having it mounted on the bumper, it will sit on my windshield for now. If I have to install a holder, going with the flip version will be a challenge now as you'll have to remove many things to get at the installation points. I hope this helps, thanks for tuning in!

      @@modXELA I ordered a 20. Should I order 22?? I don't want empty space when looking at it when it's installed

      So 24 is the best size to make it full? No space on left and right! Why would body armor say fits 20 inch light bar. Shouldn't they say 24!? Lol

    • @modXELA
      @modXELA  3 роки тому +1

      @@Pilsungbo I measured the hole for you just now and it is physically 20.625". The ends of my lightbar are literally sitting right at the ends. Just make sure that what you're buying physically measures more than 20.625 so you won't have a gap. My (so called) 24" physically measures 20-7/8". Same thing when you buy a 2"×4" lumber, it's never really 2"×4".... =)

      @@HM-vu9zw everything's holding up pretty well but my winch haven't seen real action yet (which i guess is a good thing) but i unspool and spool it once in a while just to make sure it's still working and to avoid seizing.

    Yikes, thats over $700 American just for the center bumper. Better and cheaper options like DV8 for 100’s less. Good informative video though, thanks for making.

      Yep... I did consider the DV8 but at the time of ordering, they could not guarantee delivery date due to COVID. The Body Armour delivery still took 2 months but oh well... anyhow, thanks for tuning in D Lash!

    You shoulda got the HF Badlands Apex 12000. It's better than a Warn or a Smitty and it won't leave stranded. Nice build none the less.
