Nidhi Nijjar My brother dropped at track with Oddisee and Fashawn two days ago premiered on DJBooth.net check it out soundcloud.com/djbooth/go-i-wish-oddisee-fashawn
+Don Jonathan Webb (Don Jon) I seen him perform Live with Good Compny in Chicago and I'll tell you this, it was the best performance I've ever seen. The band added a great sense of authenticity that Oddisee has with his music, it was incredible synchronicity.
Finally. Something I can play in the classroom. My students always want to hear hip hop and rap, but I want something melodic and positive. Thanks Oddisee - a class act.
Malcolm Quest Is this you? soundcloud.com/malcolm-quest/sun-moon-x-rsnz If so, it seems like you're on your way - just keep putting in the work and don't stop.
man, more hip hop fans need to know who Oddisee is, they don't know what they are missing! Only just found his music, but after listening to his large body of work, I am shocked his music has gone under the radar for this long..the Good Fight album is flawless, classic material..
He makes great music, shame the industry focus on the turn up. Nothing wrong with that, but balance is needed in Hip-Hop and Oddisee is that perfect balance that is needed.
He speaks to the people that are different. The ones who don't fit in, but make the world such a better place. Everything he says, is so applicable to my life. It's ridiculous.
Oddisee is the best modern day poet/artist since Gil Scott Heron...the original poet. Oddisee is so underrated. Folk only want who's trendy, not who's exhibiting their truth. Shalom.
This. This is proof that Hip-Hop is still alive and well. There are truly talented people (as in every genre) that deserve to be heard but do not seem to get the airplay they deserve. Thanks NPR.
saw this guy perform in Sydney. The way he performs is so personable and relatable. He always looks you in the eye when he talk, interacts, and performs. Glad to see he's still the same
7 years later, still coming back. Saw these guys in Philly because of this tiny desk. Johnny Brenda's. They nuked it. I listen to them weekly on spotify but I still come back to UA-cam for this concert because they struck a chord.
Picked up his album on a whim at the record store a few weeks back and instantly fell in love. More hip hop artists need to have their audience THINK. Props to Oddisee for keeping it real!
Since "The Good Fight" dropped I have listened to it more than anything else. I would seriously take an "Unplugged style album like this. Absolutely incredible. The man!
+Paul Adams Seriously. I remember when MTV was putting out those unplugged live/acoustic albums. Lauren Hill's was a master piece. I'd fork out in a hot minute for Oddisee Unplugged.
This is one of my top 10 favorite performances by any artist. Prime example of why Hip Hop is one of USA's greatest artforms, I hope this video is preserved for generations to come.
Been listening to Oddisee non-stop for the past month. Hands down my favorite artist right now, and possibly ever. Every album is awesome, every syllable is on point. I'm just happy this dude exists.
I finally got to see him and Good Company live in Philly a few weeks ago. I made the transition from huge fan to full Stanley. It was definitely one of the best performances I have seen in my life.
that second track gives me so many outkast vibes. i love how clear and convincing he spits his lyrics. love what the whole mello music group label is bringing to the table
I heard Oddisee once in a random playlist on Google Play Music, I didn't catch his name and spent months looking for his music. After literally a year I saw the album cover I remembered in my recommended on UA-cam. Been a huge fan every since. Keep up the great work.
Now that's real hip hop, not just talking shit to a beat. Oddisee is the man. Love the jazzy melody. Thank you NPR for introducing us to so many amazing musicians.
Yeah, I grew up listening to the Descendents, Jawbreaker, Social D, etc., but you have to appreciate talent wherever it is. For other cerebral lyricists, check out Locksmith and Brother Ali . R.A. the Rugged Man is quite a bit rougher/sophomoric, but also clever, unconventional bars and beats.
Belong To The World really struck a chord with me!!! Love that one a lot!!!! Peace and respect man you just earned a fan! Real Hip-Hop lives on!!!! Spread the positivity!!! PEACE LOVE UNITY AND HAVING FUN.
oddisee is the truth!! and big ups to my man Ralph Real on the keys, he's a friend of mine and we used to be in a few bands & projects together. he taught me a lot when it comes to hip hop and neo soul music!
He is up there with those who speak their truth, & basic human truths, I.e, SABBA, Noname, Armand Hammer, Pink Sifu, MAVI, Mick Jenkins & a whole lot more!!
l love showing Oddisee to people that hate hip-hop/rap genre. There are a lot more out there like him BTW... It's sad the mainstream media only wants to portray hip-hop as trap-hop/gangsta rap. Not only is this music more worthwhile but it tends to stand the test of time as well.
Man i used to hate rap and hip hop but my friend showed me A Tribe Called Quest. Man once i heard Low End Theory I hopped all aboard the hip hop train. Now Hip Hop is one of my favourite genres.
JOY RIDE Man me too, for me it all started with Samurai Champloo and anime at large. If not for anime I wouldn't be here reconnecting with a genre that's so ingrained into my peoples' culture. Check out Nakinyko's mashups of anime, Japanese video game soundtracks, and popular artists like Nas and Lauryn Hill.
A DC native and a cool brother. It was good seeing him a few years ago at the Native American Museum in the city. Had to commend him on that Diamond District album.
A artist as refined, consistent talented & transparently humble as Odisee would only attract the most legit fans. Congrats if you're dope enough to be reading this. 🎉👍🎊
Big thanks to NPR, Suraya Mohamed, and of course our man Amir aka Oddisee. This was great!
Mello Music Group Album of the year ..
This is the perfect combo. I'm a fan of both NPR & Oddisee.

My new obsession! So rarely find music this well crafted! I'm just SO geeked I found your crew on Spotify!
+Don Jonathan Webb (Don Jon) I seen him perform Live with Good Compny in Chicago and I'll tell you this, it was the best performance I've ever seen. The band added a great sense of authenticity that Oddisee has with his music, it was incredible synchronicity.

+DonnaBeckWrites do that, thats so dope; giving the youth content and a style to be awakened to :D
Wish you were my teacher lol
Amen Sister. Oddisee is helping my Spanish speaking students to rap like fire!
Wow you're awesome
DB Hargis Writes "xxxtentacion" is a good choice too (i know, the name doesn't sound like it but it is) i recommend "look at me"
It's always refreshing to see a comments section filled with positive vibes
Yes sir :)
How can you say anything negative about Oddisee? Dude put in work and earned everything he's got.
Vladimir Poutine Do you mind checking out my music?
Malcolm Quest I don't mind, but I'm going to let you know exactly how I feel about it - Send me a link, couldn't find any videos in your profile.

If so, it seems like you're on your way - just keep putting in the work and don't stop.
This guy is 120% a virtuoso and this video is criminally under viewed.
Agreed!
I totally agree!!! And I'm feeling like an idiot to find him just about right now...
This dudes discography is unbelievably solid
I remember when this came out I loved it, I can’t believe this doesn’t have 1m+ views
@@dabbking for real

This guy has ridiculous amounts of talent. Holy shit.........
The way he performs Belong to the World always brings me to tears. The man is so happy and humbled
Still true lol
Bless you
His music will definitely stand the test of time
The Real Legend Wish I remember this comment 10yrs from now. His music will still be more than a throwback by then.
I saw him live in 2015. Just as good in 2020. Can't wait to see what else he will do.

Man, this is MUSIC. This is SOUL. This is HIP-HOP. I stand for this.
Shalom.

This version of Condradiction Maze is the best. I feel like it's better than the record even. He sings it so well.
Agree 1000%
His delivery just goes 10x better with acoustics. I wish I was more in love with his studio albums.
Kids This Is What Rap Should Sound Like. Step Yals Game Up. A True Rapper!

Shoujoboy51 All great but alot of kids today are not listening to them except Kendrick
***** Mmmmm, this is Hip Hop... Ooooo

Shoujoboy51 We should if we want Hip Hop to turn around from the commerical trash its become. As a Hip Hop Head I want storytelling back.
saw this guy perform in Sydney. The way he performs is so personable and relatable. He always looks you in the eye when he talk, interacts, and performs. Glad to see he's still the same

One of my favorite tiny desk... just watched the larry june episode and he kinda reminded me of oddisee. Had to come back and watch this one
Oddisee just put out an album called "The Iceberg", y'all should check it out. Dude is amazing and criminally underrated.
And the iceberg is still high in my rotation. Dude ain't even close to slowin
I bought that on vinyl and it sounds heavenly
I am not a fan of Hip Hop, and Oddisee proves that I don't know what I'm talking about. This was amazing!
This is dude is just a musical artist...Oddisee and Madlib are two of the most talented, hard working, under appreciated talents
Madlib under appreciated? Huh we must not be talking about the same madlib
This guy reminded me of a time when I truly enjoyed hiphop, and that was waaay back in the early/mid nineties.
oddisee is so good live.... damn
7 years later, still coming back. Saw these guys in Philly because of this tiny desk. Johnny Brenda's. They nuked it. I listen to them weekly on spotify but I still come back to UA-cam for this concert because they struck a chord.

Love, the necessity of contradictions, the struggle to be oneself in this world-each track, a deep dive in human universals. 100% genius.
I just stumbled on this cat by accident. I'm completely blown away. Instant fan.
Oddisee is one of my favorite hip hop artists nowadays and this performance is awesome
This is one of my top 10 favorite performances by any artist. Prime example of why Hip Hop is one of USA's greatest artforms, I hope this video is preserved for generations to come.

The kind of person that dies young. Thougthfull and probably kind. But I think he's already a classic.
This is true genuine hip-hop in its purest form positivity.
Easily the most underrated MC out right now. All his albums are insane respect!
I've never commented on any UA-cam video ever, but this is absolutely amazing..the story telling and captvation is off the charts
this is why Odd is my favorite rapper/producer... he's a rappers rapper for sure. Big ups Diamond District too...

+Matt Roberts Why is it more worthwhile?
Could you please mention more artists like oddisee? I want to get into this type of hip hop but have no idea where to start
vetmed
Try Cyne, and anything that Nujabes produced and that has some rapper on it. I would go with the song "Feather" by Nujabes (ft Cyne)
Man i used to hate rap and hip hop but my friend showed me A Tribe Called Quest. Man once i heard Low End Theory I hopped all aboard the hip hop train. Now Hip Hop is one of my favourite genres.

That's Love gets me through teaching my toughest kids. I love him.
He's a philosophical Ludacris. I dig it.
