- 6.2% alcohol. 51 IBU. Introduced in 1995. Brewed in America by Lagunitas Brewing.
"A well-rounded, Highly drinkable India Pale Ale. A bit of Caramel Malt barley provides the richness that mellows out the twang of the hops, including Cascade, Centennial, Chinook and a splash of honorary 'C' hop, Simcoe. Best enjoyed from mustache."

The "standard mid 90's IPA's" are still the best IPA's, in my humble opinion. I love Lagunitas IPA. Great review, Jay. 🍺
I can't argue with that. Thanks, Wayne!
@@ronaldtheriot here in Canada we get Laguntis in the 500 ML tall cans in singles but its brewed in Holland or Belguim. its such a great West coast IPA Style. i would love to try the real brewed in the USA version
@@TheAaronChand I wish you could try that, too.
Lagunitas makes some great IPAs. I like to grab one every now and then to enjoy. Cheers!
I agree, and cheers, back to you!
bottle 12 pack is going for 14.99 here in Dallas.
That's great, this day in age!
Absolutely one of (or even #1) my favorite standby IPA’s even if it’s kinda old school or throwback variant now. Grab the cans in convenience stores here & there and also enjoy on draft sometimes as different establishments in my area have it on tap. Did not realize it was also being produced in Illinois.
Yeah, they branched out. I'd love to try the draft version.
@@ronaldtheriot The Red Racer IPA brewed here in Canada im it having right now Jay it has 80 IBUs its more bitter than the Lagunitas your having
@@TheAaronChand I'd like to try that one, Aaron.
Had a Lagunitas IPA on draft last night at Red Robin Chesapeake, VA
@@douglasroethlin3839 I'd love to try the draft version!
It's my favorite IPA.
I certainly do love it.
Lagunitas now is putting bottled on dates on their beers. YES
That is good news! Thanks for watching, Big Moe. I appreciate it!
I have to drink this stupid beer all the time because it’s the only beer they have other than Miller Light on Southwest flights. It’s actually pretty good but it gives me a little indigestion and I always arrive in an inebriated state due to the abv.
They serve enough on a flight for you to get drunk? I though they only gave one beer.
@@ronaldtheriot My wife always travels with me so I get hers but I’ve never had a problem ordering a second round, even on the short flight we frequently take from Houston to Jackson
Its very similar to Goose Island IPA in my opinion. As far as which I prefer, the Goose Island does seem to be a bit cheaper for a 6 pack so I might pick that one since they taste similar. Maybe the Lagunitas is slightly better in terms of taste. They are both good value so I cant complain.
Yes, and in Louisiana, they tend to be nearly identical in price.
Got me one today. This is a good brew to me and 6.2 is just right. Great review Ron. 🍻
Thanks, Michael, and you got the cans, too?
It's funny. Me and my girlfriend are drinking it right now, and we both reacted as we thought it was VERY different from the bottled version (which is one of our favorite beers). Infact that's the reason we looked at a review!
It's still delicious, but lacks the body in our mind. More of a summery beer than the "original" in our view.
Nice review anyway, and we'll be looking to compare more of our taste in beer to your reviews! Do consider more swedish beer as we are swedish. 😊
Thanks for watching, Karl Folkesson. I appreciate it! I would like to try more Swedish beers, but I do not see the in our stores.
@@ronaldtheriot We did a comparison right now between the two and all of a sudden I'm on your side. My girlfriend still says the bottle is slightly more bitter and full bodied. What does she know! 😂
Sir, what is that prominent plant at your back? Very stately!
It's some sort of palm bush, I believe.
Had never had an IPA until recently and this was the one I tried, didnt like it too much. You think if i didnt like lagunitas i wont like most other IPAs?
It's hard to say, because the IPA style is so diffused. It's hard, these days, to say what an IPA is, really. Thanks for watching, Tyler. I appreciate it!
