This is an outstanding reprise. Truly. When she speaks in a Marilyn Monroe voice this time, it's sarcastic rather than sincere. And she's frustrated with herself rather than oblivious. Top-notch.

"Joke's on you bitch you'll never be free" really grabbed me. As someone with BPD, that's a very real, very strong fear; that you'll never actually grow or change no matter how hard you try. This show really catches you off-guard.
My bestie of over 10 years recovered from her BPD, it's *TOTALLY* a thing! She found the right combo of medications (she also has adhd) and went through Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. THEN she managed to finish law school, get married and have a **delightful** baby girl! All because she put in the work 👍🏾 everybody is a work in progress, just don't give up 💜
Bipolar depressive here; yeah, that or making yourself worse is a major one for me, personally. We'll all be alright though, hopefully. Just gotta stick together. Recently, one of my best friends said the most profound thing to me: Love is being messy together.
Honestly, when put like that, healing and connection sounds actually doable. :)
@@Setsunako6587 Very true. As hard as it is to recover from a PD (for me it's AvPD, a disorder in the anxious cluster), it is possible. You can't fix your brain chemistry just by willing it so, but with medication to help fix it and therapies like CBT/DBT to help you act on your own behalf, you can eventually eliminate the negative symptoms that make you qualify as having a disorder. You'll always be different; both shaped by and best able to understand others with your disorder, but you can live a happy, stable life and become an ambassador for mental health.
@@WynneL Just wanted to pop in and third this. BPD Type 2 here. I went through a variety of medications before I found the right one and wanted to quit so many times, but once I found the right medication it changed my life so much for the better. I'm happy, I'm proud of what I'm doing, I have a regular sleep schedule, I can call and make my own doctor/dentist appointments, and I have been able to hold down a wonderful job for almost 8 years.
I like that she eventually cut it. It means she understands that these delusions can be optional and not mandatory.
She can technically control it but it kinda helps her to think so maybe that's why she doesn't quit it most of the time

The "I can't ask you to share" is the part that I like the most in this song. The first time she wanted to do polyamory in order to get around having to choose between Josh and Greg without even considering how either of them would feel about it. Now she's saying how it just wouldn't be fair to any of them to ask that. That's growth. God I love this show

“But what about YOUR feelings?” is a complete character 180. Shows how much work she’s done and how far she’s come even though she knows (fears) she’ll never break free of the cycle and find love.
The costume department is probably happy they didn't have to put weeks of work into an outfit for a two-minute song again

@@ileannalvarez888 is it just me but I actually think Vincent looks better in glasses than without glasses. I think glasses actually suit him super well. But yes skylar looks great in glasses but skylar is they type of guy I tend to be attracted to most out of the guys.

I personally think Greg would work out best. The both of them were toxic for each other, but, after they had some distance and grew as people, whilst dealing with their own psychological issues, they are now good for each other and understand each other on some unspoken level. I will say tho, I do really like Nathaniel, but I don't think their bond is as close as Rebecca's and Greg's. I'm with OP in that I do NOT want it to be Josh. She's grown past him, and I don't think he's good enough for her.

It can happen now. She is has three viable suitors whom she wants in return. They all have a toxic past with her, but could the past be left in the past? Rebecca is the Crazy Ex Girlfriend of each of them, but is a little bit more nuanced than that. TV show character or not, I just want Rebecca Bunch to end up happy.

This alone is one of the best realizations I think the character develops. I think it's her telling herself that she just isn't ready for romantic love. It's not her thing right now. She had to work on and develop other love in her life before romance should play a part. As long as she does the romance, she will never be free from the drama. I love it.

Man this show brought reprises to a whole new level and I’m here for it.
Even though I love Nathaniel, I think the healthiest relationship would be with Greg. Both Nathaniel and Josh were dependent on Rebecca for their personal growth while Greg grew once he got some distance. That’s the only relationship I can see where she’ll get something out of it and won’t be codependent in an unhealthy way.

I mean, props to Skylar for taking the character of Greg (who was basically doomed to be worse if any other actor than Santino played him) and having the same mannerisms and inflections that Santino played Greg as. They couldn't have made Santino come back so the next best thing is get someone who could mimic him well.

You know, I always thought I hated love triangles (or any love polygon) because one or more of the options were awful people, or they were poorly written, or they went on too long. Turns out, even though those may all be true, I'm just not into it. This show has none of those problems but which guy Rebecca ends up with is, for me, the least interesting part of the show. The columns were right: they're all viable options and there's no objective reason for her to end up with one instead of the other two. It really only matters which one she likes most.
Even whether she ends up with anyone at all is a more interesting question. Some people have said they want her to realize she can be happy alone, and I get that, but I also think showing that someone with BPD can have a successful romantic relationship would be valuable too.

Well, if you're referring to the original Math Triangle video, that was an homage to Marilyn Monroe in the song "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" from the movie Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. She sounded that way because she was imitating the way Marilyn spoke.
@@celanba yeah! i know haha i meant that in that song, she was pretending to be someone else- a fantasy, almost, whereas in this one shes rooted in reality and is thus using her own voice. (rachel also said that voice is really hard on her throat at some point i think)

This is purely subjective, but I think fan opinions that Rebecca NEEDS to end up with any of the three men or to be single is irrelevant. This show makes a big deal about life being a series of personal choices, which can be bad or good. Other people's opinions don't matter until the person themselves have evolved in some way. The show has also done a lot to question destiny in preference for making your own fate. I think the ending for Rebecca should just be whoever she ends up being, be that with Josh, Greg, Nathaniel, herself, or someone totally different. After all, romance still is a big part of her life. Ignoring the men, she's a romantic human who loves love. Does her her happy ending NEED to be void of it? If she can find a way to be happy with herself and with love, why not?
Whatever happens, I can't wait to see where she ends up :)
