Amadeus was Directed by Milos Forman and was distributed by Orion Pictures in 1984. The Director's Cut, released in 2002, features 20 minutes of additional footage - this is the version I reviewed. Please enjoy!

Another important thing about the dictation scene is the lyrics of the Confutatis. They translate to "When the accursed have been confounded and given over to the bitter flames, call me with the blessed." And what's happening? Salieri is being confounded and confined to his flames of woe while Mozart is being called home to Heaven.
