StarCraft 2: Mistakes Were Made! (Protoss Gameplay)

- Mistakes were made... But knowledge was gained. In this StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void game of Protoss versus Zerg I take a huge lead, before making a crucial mistake. I lose ladder points in the short term but learn how to deal with potential counter attacks in the long term. W
hile executing my two base all-in versus this Zerg player I manage to clean up his entire third base and most of his Natural. Nevertheless I overextend, and the Mutalisk counter attack proves to be too much. Learning new skills in StarCraft 2 can be difficult and frustrating, as you know you're a better player than what you are displaying in one given game. That said, the only way you're going to be able to learn all different kinds of aggression

Oh lowko... when you are ahead, get farther ahead right?!?! push to empty and he countered like a BOSS..
I switched from Zerg to Protoss a while ago and I learned a lot of this, Always nice to see a live sc 2 play from you :)
I kept thinking the forge was late, throwing it down earlier could of helped you survive even after that initial bad engagement. If it was up earlier as soon as you seen the mutas you could of thrown cannons in your mineral lines. When the muta's attacked then at least 1-2 would of died to the cannons at each base (2-4 total) even if they focused it down, the few stalkers you managed to make along with the mothership core could of forced the zerg to retreat or risk losing them all and your counter did enough that you could of regained the advantage.
Just my thoughts on it, even if the forge is not used to start upgrades due to the all in I do think having it means the time to revert to a defensive stance is a lot smaller, so it can be a safety net in this situation.
you did not get the second gas at your natural. That's why you did not have enough gas for more stalkers.
good observation there :) at times i end up not separating my army to wreck the worker count at certain points. g'luck in future games man! cheers!
can you post a pvp game where you use the phoenix opening from your previous game..
Now you know how Mutalisk is OP.When zerg loses the units he return to mass units of another kind because only need to build one building, giving the possibility to expand it over a base then zerg race is easy OP.
+anquimarls You have to force Zerg into making units you want to fight. You have to assume they will make the units they need to counter what you have.
Nice video Lowko
Lowko, you should do 2 v 2 gameplays :D
We must construct additional protoss videos!
lowko when you see muta go archon not stargate or just starkers.
+Ikaika Pulotu Archons required two more buildings. He didn't have the time or resources to commit to that tech line.
I'm not seeing that much protos player except for lowko
+Damon Awesome sauce
Mcanning is a good protoss player that uploads regularly
Hmmm, when you killed his 3rd base, you could have returned back with the recall (if it has 100 energy) and make some more stalkers the moment you saw the mutalisks.
Seeing that makes me remember the time I did a PvP and destroyed my opponent's 2nd Nexus but didn't recalled, costing my game because not only the protoss made some oracle harass, but hes able to defend my attack.
Since we are all wise here :],maybe you could try to snipe the spire after you seen mutas,it look like you have enough units left which will,as you said, die anyway.Or not.Who knows.
Hey, man! Could you do some more guides to specific build orders, like the one you did for Solar's roach ravager ZvT timing? That was extremely helpful, I can expand my strategy arsenal that way :) thx, keep up the amazing stuff!
Love your videos. (I'm a noob but just my opinions) Sounded like you didn't take his mutalisk strategy seriously when you first spotted them. Also I've noticed in multiple videos your warp prism gets sniped almost immediately cause it's with the main army when the engagement starts. Seems like you should always keep it a little behind to prevent that from happening.
great video
Lowko what is ur GPU? At what FPS are you playing ?
Startoss ftw. Make a good ol death ball of carriers and void rays and watch your opponent squirm
+Sergio Giangrande My friend loves to do that, but it's easy to beat him with hydras and mutas. Even if he barely wins the first round zerg reinforcements are faster. But yeah, he used to win every fucking match before lol
+Sergio Giangrande How do you suggest you get there though. Can't take a third if you focus on a slowbuilding army. You're going to be behind and die. It's only viable if you manage to harass enough i think. That and stay alive after the counter attack.
On second thoughts, you really shouldn't be taking advice from a bronze league player (me) Lol, it always works in bronze league because most people just turtle up and I can do whatever I want
+BrianV High silver league now bro, and adding a few colossi and high templar absolutely tears through hydras, prismatic alignment destroys corruptors and phoenix outmicro mutas
Startoss ftw
I'm a newer player player and I had no idea about control groups... I've been using F2 all this time like a noob! Can anyone help me what an idea control group setup should look like? The race I use is Protoss. All help is appreciated! :)
Control groups are assigned by selecting an unit(s), then pressing ctrl+#. Any number from 0-9 will work. This resets the control group to have only that selection of units in the control group. Selecting a new unit or set of units and then shift+# will add the new selection to the previous control group.
In terms of what control groups you should use, I'd recommend one for Nexus, one for army, and one or two for specialist units. But it's really up to what you're comfortable with, so try out different tactics with control groups and see what fits you best :)
I think if you actually attacked with your warped in units at 8:55, you probably could have killed a decent more number of mutalisks..
more terran plays plz
Lesson learned here : getting greedy is bad. :)
WHY DID YOU GO IN WHEN YOU SAW THOSE MUTAS?!!!You were supposed to go back and warp in stalkers there and get 1/1....
It´s funny how all these gameplay videos will become obsolete with no more mothership core...
Why do you hate cannons so much? You never make any static defense... =(
+Steampunk Zergling (Arganaz)
Bc photon overcharge is enough
cannons in my opinion are just needed late game especially against toss DT
Why is a supply block so bad around 5:00? You're banking minerals and gas, so can't you just spend them all in one go 30-45 seconds later?
+ColonelJ1 i think it was more because he wanted his immortal production to go work, so he killed some probes then the immortal popped out. they take longer to build than gateway units so if you get supply blocked they take even longer.
This video is very glitchy for me. Is it running fine for everyone else?
+hrun0815 fine for me
+jjoncm1 Really odd. It's only glitching when I run it in full screen mode. But all other Lowko videos run perfectly fine in full screen.
+hrun0815 if you are on Firefox then it may be due to Hardware Acceleration being on, was happening to me for awhile, but after I turned that off I haven't had any issues since.
I wonder how a kid would do against a experienced player in this game XD
HELLLLOWWWW everyoneee
