38 years old gay guy. I quit alcohol and cigarettes 5 years ago. I deleted Grindr 6 months ago and feels great now. No pressure. I’m comfortable being single and will welcome the right guy for a monogamous relationship when it will come. I’m focusing on an healthy lifestyle without excesses that are unfortunately too much common within the gay community.

I do love these longer chats you have; I wouldn't call myself inexperienced, but it's great to hear a 2nd and 3rd opinion when thinking about such issues; I'm not daft after all! 🏳️‍🌈✊🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Love the longer version. Love you guys. Excellent content that is great for non-homos too - It’s the authentic dynamic, the intelligence, and optimism. Better Health would be wise to recommend this channel.
    Another Gran 🤭

Congrats on the start of season 3! Great first episode, it was very engaging, and justified the longer length this time. Personally I do prefer the closer to 30 minute timeframe, only because I do follow a decent amount of UA-camrs, and it’s harder to keep up when the episodes are longer. Just my 2 cents, and you know I love your content and will watch anyway, but I’ll be curious to hear what others think. As for the red flags, two that hit home with me were the height one, and the first time relationship one. Being only 5’7” myself, I do think people can be critical of shorter people and biased against them. Not universally, but there is something there that I think shorter guys do have to manage to a degree. As for the first relationship one, I don’t think it’s automatically a red flag, but “breaking in” someone who’s never really dated before can be a struggle. From experience, it can be hard to manage them learning what’s involved in having a real relationship. It definitely helps when a partner has some of the “basics” down, because it can then avoid unnecessary miscommunications and hard feelings. Again, not an absolute red flag, but not my first choice. 🙂 Keep up the great work, you guys are really helping, and you make it fun along the way. ❤

I realized in my later 20’s that I had a height preference only because I moved into another state in the U.S. and suddenly I who am 5’6-7” and had always been fairly average height in the parts of California I lived in was very tall and with most men I dated I didn’t enjoy wearing the heels I enjoy wearing cause it meant I towered over them and that wasn’t my preference. It never stopped me dating anyone of all heights but I definitely have a preference and my current partner is closer to Keagan’s heights so I’m happy about that! So yeah definitely that preference happens across the board gay straight etc…

I try to starve my beast and only feed my love, with positivity. like weight training for emotions and mental control. I have not dated since before I was married. I got divorced in 2009. I avoided people for this long because of my emotional and mental state. after a self Test at a 400+ person Drag show, I had no inappropriate anxiety or PTSD flashes. I actually felt at home and happier than I have ever really been.

I completely disagree with the height preference as a red flag. As a tall person who is 6'7, yes, I prefer dating someone that will not necessarily be the same height but at least will be comfortable to hug, cuddle with, especially if you like to be spooned, it could be awkward for both parties. Its a preference and with everything there could be those unique situations where people are prejudice. Two things can be true at once.

Love the podcast. Wanted to throw out an idea for a future episode…a review of Fellow Travelers. For a lot of us, that miniseries was emotionally crushing. Your perspective…kind of book club style…could be really good. From history changes, how the past affects mental health today, and perhaps unfinished business in the evolution of the healthy gay. Just a thought. Cheers!

If you put your partner down in front of other people to get a laugh that is the end of a good relationship. The relationship may continue but then the sniping really starts. And it becomes toxic. I lived for a while with a straight guy whose father had come out in his late 30s, and he and his male partner were always sniping in public. It was like that BBC show Vicious.

Love the episode!! Many superb questions and balanced answers calling folks to mature self reflection. Funny that every answer is depends, but also so true. I'd say trust your gut, but I'm still trying to learn how to discern what's intuition and what's fear or old wounds etc. But all of it is info and a solid place to stay about why would something stand out to you as even a yellow flag, meaning slow down and be alert and aware and proceed with caution.
Side note : I know most folks don't notice it, and I'm fully aware of why you had to do it, and I noticed the speed is a smidge higher on this one, it's only an issue if it becomes distracting to the wonderful content. This one didn't feel longer than normal, in a good way. Meaning I could listen to this kinda content for a while. Great job guys, keep up the good work.

I agree that writing out the problem is effective and can help process events and even write music. But if writing is not an option, just thinking or talking it out in talk therapy can work too. Just like Keegan's math analogy... Don't know if this relates to being a happy healthy homo, but I went... I'm going to solve 983 + 572 and start by approximating it to 1500... Then realize, I just add 2+3 to make 5 so... 1505 and then realuze 8+7 is 15 to actually make 9+5 to 10+5 as carryover to make the actual result 1555.

when I say I need Therapy, I have past major trauma. I do not know how to love, only try to simulate love. I want a relationship, but I have no idea how. I am trying, by being 100% up front and honest. I have to be intentionally innerly peaceful, even though there is a mass serial killer beast chained with in. feds are well aware of it. I am banned from traveling outside of state (permission) or country partially because of that.

Loving the longer pod casts. There could easily be a part 2.
A big red flag for me is when a man stares at the waiting while we are at restaurant table or looks at other men while out in public. The more contact I have with gay men the less appealing dating them is!
Suggestion, why not have members of the public in the filmed utube podcast with you both.

Love your videos but the editing in this video is a bit bad. Some scenes are cut before the statement or sentence is finished by Joel or Keagan.
