I don't want them to release all of it now. There will come a day when there is nothing left. No more first hearing of Chester's voice. I can't. Give it to me slowly and let me still have those fleeting moments of feeling like he's still here. 🥺
I feel you man 😔 originally I heard Mike said they weren't gonna release this song any time soon, probably was gonna save it for an anniversary album, but I think he was probably thinking he wouldn't be around or something by then, idk. Cause 20 years of One More Light would be.... 2037 😅
Seeing him smile breaks my heart too. Its not the song that made me cry but to watch them record this in the studio and see them work together again, its like he never left, like linkin park is still together putting out new music. Even after 7 years I'm still heartbroken over his death. My opportunity to meet him and the band was taken from me 10 days before the show because thats when he did it. I cry so hard when I watch their videos because I missed out on giving them hugs and thanking them, especially Chester
Friendly Fire (quite a lovely song, BTW) is being released on a best of LP compilation in April called Papercuts that will include a couple of songs that haven't been released previously... including QWERTY, which is FINALLY getting an official release.
This was a recording for the one more light album in 2017, but it didn't make it. It is similar to songs like "halfway right" or "Sharp edges" which were on the album.
It feels to me like a continuation of Talking To Myself almost, which is the song before Battle Symphony, so it would stand to reason that may have been where this was intended to sit.
I AM NOT CRYING....YOU ARE! Damn I miss him in music and his vocals were, and still are, unmatched. Not even that awesome kid on Tik Tok can do Chester, better than Chester. Rest in Eternal Peace Chester.
Seeing Chester smile literally made me break down and sob when i watched this video yesterday. I didnt ever think I would feel the loss of someone i never knew so deeply. I miss him so much 😢 Much love from Arizona 💜💜
This song made me cry so freaking much Chester voice was coming from heaven and still hearing his voice is a magical feeling that i can't even explain with words
I am literally bawling my head off, listening to this! The song totally fits what’s going on in my life right now! Funny how shit works like that with them? I miss him and them so much! But I’m so grateful they’re taking us on this journey with them as they unpack all of this and bleed it out for us and with us as well! We’re all still dealing in our own grief, loss and love! I’m just so grateful that they had cameras on them thank you guys and thank you Alex! You were the first person I thought of when I heard this song!
Man, I fully understand the "comforting pain" feeling - I am beyond grateful that I still get to hear stuff from the band, and yet it physically hurts. 💔And you're right about the perfection of a production this is, I'd be curious to know how involved Mike was in it. Thank you for this!
There are 3 moments that destroyed my heart... The starting, when Chester enters the room and all the other members smiles.. when Mike and Chester had a punch to punch... And when they had a reunion before the concert with huge smiles... Love you guys.. very much ❤❤
Thank you and Love you Alex you're a good person and hope for the best for you. The song is really beautiful I miss chester so much. Linkin park is my favorite band of all time and their legacy will live forever❤
You can always tell when Mike Shinoda has produced the music because everything is always so crisp and beautiful. You can hear everything from the sound effects to the guitars and every single hit on the drum kit… but nothing is ever highlighted more than Chester’s voice. Mike is more than a musical genius, he’s a human. He understands the sort of reaction that people have to Chester’s voice and his lyrics and all he ever does is help to add strength and power to it without ever covering it. Thank you guys for another song to remember Chester by.
I feel it's a song that reflects on the connection between Chester's fans & how hurt he felt after social media trashed the"One More Light" album. He took the negative comments really personally, fired back at the haters, and realized "we went too far" in a general sense. We all did... Looking back, fans shouldn't have been so harsh on the band over OML. 😞 RIP Chester
ALEX!!!!! Just THANK YOU!!!! Thank you for making this video!! I really didn't expect it!! Like I didn't expect LP to release yet another song after Chesters passing, as my kids said "Is that really Chester" it is so surreal to actually SEE HIM SING THE SONG! A hole new level from 'Lost' but so happy they realised it!!!❤ like I am that you realised this!! And I as always agree with so much your saying, it helps makes me feel like om not alone in this experience, that some one I don't know private, feels the same.way as I so❤ So thank you again for doing this! Means a lot to me!!!
Hearing Chester's voice again is a pain we don't want to feel but need to feel. The raw emotion and power that Chester put into everything he sang, resonates within the soul. As painful as it is to hear Chester again and as confusing as it is for my brain to see him in another video. Seeing and hearing Chester again reminds me every time to just keep pushing no matter how hard life gets. He reminds me that life is fragile and should be cherished. R.I.P Chester you're forever loved and remembered.
😭😭😢 Chester and Linkin Park opened up my eyes to the music I listen to today, and I am forever grateful for them. They continue pulling my heart strings, releasing new/ old music that Chester was a part of. This hit me in the feels, and I will be listening to this on repeat forever.
That was a great reaction video Alex, you did Chester proud. That song was amazing, and I could see you moving and grooving. Thanks for posting this. Take care Alex. 😊
It’s funny you say welcome back to the channel because I only stumble upon your channel each time LP release a new song and I always appreciate your reaction videos 😂
Honestly, when One More Light was released, it faced a lot of backlash from fans. I remember seeing comments criticizing it everywhere. The entire band was under fire. Now, with the tragic loss of the person who helped so many of us through his music, suddenly everyone is expressing love for tracks like "Friendly Fire." It's disappointing to witness. Nonetheless, I wish the band strength during this difficult time. Thank you for the incredible music that has meant so much to me for the past 24 years, and counting. Meeting Mike at his show in Bangkok was a highlight for me, and I hope to have the chance to meet the rest of the band someday.
My heart xo so glad to see your beautiful face and another Linkin Park reaction xo these heal my soul ❤ thanks for coming back Alex xo I missed these so much
every time i listen to LP its friking hurts to the bottom of my heart!! ive have been listening LP since teenager, and still 20+ years later brings me back to to my childhood. Chester for ever 😪
Man I missed you so much! I was just becoming a super fan of your music reactions when you left :'( This song was the one I needed to hear watching your reaction!
So good to have you back on this mate, and what a way to return. I respect your venture into other content, but your connection with music is unparalleled and we all feel it with you. Thanks for being an inspiration!
Its so surreal to me seeing him singing like this. Just like it has been recorded a short time back not years... Saw Mike Shinoda back in 2019 on his tour in Germany performing the album he wrote to cope with the death of his best friend and seeing them singing together in this song breaks my heart a bit. Beautiful song. Nice to see and hear him again.
It's the kind of pain that reminds you you're still alive to feel anything at all, and that brings with it a sense of relief and hope because it means you are not too far gone to come back again. On the topic of new music Tom MacDonald has been releasing new videos as well. The one he dropped this morning, "The Machine," is worth checking out.
Seeing this almost feels like Chester is just hidden from the world, not dead. I couldn’t handle this music when it came how. I teared up so much that my bf was worried. LP is always there when you most need them, even when you don’t know you actually do 🖤
My brother took his life in 2020 when he was 30yrs old. Linkin Parks album One More Light was how we helped his kids find words to deal with his death.
Chester is never dead. He will always be here through his music!!! (I go through this state you mentioned too, where i realise he is not here anymore) But he is. Always
Alex!!!! ❤Thank you for coming back! Miss your face! Hope you & Sara are doing well, boo! Mahalo for the LP Love Always. You're the BEST! AND I still use my Dope Ass Day mug, every day. ❤
I like to think he died so some of us don't, and when we start to forget that he sends us this, even thou it is new it feels old and the memories come back like a flood. This is such a blissful experience, to be alive and still experience he who is not. If we only trully die when forgotten, may he live forever.
FINALLY YOU'RE BACK WITH REACTIONS, DUDE PLZ, I'VE BEEN SUGGESTING THE SAME SONGS OVER AND OVER SINCE *2018* (5 years) and u did saw my comments and even hearted one of them and replied to me and I used to give these requests on your old IG account, and I know u've read them coz u even liked one of my comments, here: System of a down MIND and War? (Audios not music videos) PLZ I've waited for so long!
Think about how fucking successful they became. Everyone knows the name Linkin Park and at least one of their songs, and here 7 years after Chester's death, they still have 10's of millions, if not 100's of millions of fans world wide. The new song dropped a day ago and it already have over 1 million views and on Spotify they have 40 million people listening to them monthly. Tell me any other band besides Queen, that 7 years after they stopped are still so relevant and still drops new music, that millions of fans flock to the second it's up. I fucking love Linkin Park, they will always be the best band of the 21st century. Of course I got tears in my eyes listening to this so, we fucking miss you so much Chester.
For me, coming from Lost and the immediate feelings of pain and loss it provoked, this is a beautiful song, those emotions are still there, just now more thought provoking with things I'm dealing with currently. I completely understand you with the "pocket" these take you to.
I miss Chester, so damn much Seeing the video and him and the band and the smiles and the love truly breaks my heart. However hearing his amazing voice and talent, brings joy to my soul again. REST IN PEACE CHESTER CHARLES BENNINGTON, we still miss you and remember you 🌹
When I saw they released a new song, I immediately started crying Whilst listening to it, I was sobbing When I saw Chester in the premiere of the music video, I started again I miss him And Linkin Park‘s music literally saved my life, it’s too good to be true But we have it and we need it sometimes
Well.... Linkin Park JUST hit me on the right spot they just tell me whatever i needed to hear or something that im feeling and cannot express. just love it
The song is so beautiful and when I saw the video for it the first time I had to cry, it's still heartbreaking that it's not there anymore 💔😭 miss you Chester 🖤
"A comforting type of pain." I totally get that. Listening and watching this video by Linkin Park felt exactly like that. It was wonderful to see, and Chester DID seem like he was still here. The video is so real and so "now" looking, that I had to remind myself that this was footage from years ago. It just doesn't LOOK that old, though, and the song doesn't seem dated in the least bit. I just am so happy that the guys decided to release THIS video as the official video for the song. To see the guys all working, creating together in it was incredible. I don't agree with you, Alex, about having them release everything now, though. I love that we get something now and then from them. Like @lisaanderson2900 said, there will come a day when there is nothing left, we've been given all there is to give. I'd rather keep looking forward to more. Wonderful gifts that Chester and the guys can sprinkle us with and give us joy.
You put it perfectly! Linkin Park songs are amazing, and they are so powerful. But you can have your first listen and be impressed. 5 listens in and it's 25 times better. They are geniuses!
"Seeing him smile breaks my fucking heart" same dude. Same. When I watched this, that first scene where Chester is smiling, made me cry. The more I watch this, the more it affects me. We miss this man so much; and I feel like the band really conveyed their loss and honored his memory in making and sharing this with us knowing that.
It's akin to being asked about life with a best friend who passed away seven years ago. It evokes a mix of pain and cherished memories, leaving you torn between gratitude for the inquiry and frustration at the resurgence of old wounds.
This opened some fresh wounds from me and my girlfriend having to put down our 17 year old cat 4 days ago. Linkin Park is still one of my favorite bands and hearing Chester's voice is both painful and comforting at the same time. R.I.P CHESTER
I have a lump in my throat. I miss hearing his voice. We never knew him but he touched so many. My father and stepfather took their lives. It brings everything back. It’s a great loss and wounds that never heal. RIP Chester. I hope that your one more light. 💡
I have had this song on repeat all day. I couldnt have summed it up better myself. hearing his voice is indeed a comforting type of pain. Other people may not understand that but us Chester fans certainly do.
The timing of this song and seeing chester again so clearly, hearing him.. I felt like a teenager again.. but i feel heartbroken. I live in a time where alot of people i cared for and loved have passed away. All i can say is.. thanks to chester for making my 2005-2008 teenages bareable..
These releases always make me tear up a bit, Linkin Park was such a big part of my childhood. I remember the day I was told he had passed away, I couldnt cry or show emotions because I was where I was but when I was free in the evening, all I did was lying in bed listening to Linkin Park for what felt like years and never wanted it to stop. Their tribute show will never fail to make me cry though, specially during "Numb" where you just see his empty seat or whatever you wanna call it :D Chester, we miss you and thanks for everything, fortunately we will always have your voice in our backpockets :')
THAT voice 🥺😭 forever will be missed 🖤 it's still heartbreaking hearing and seeing Chester perform, knowing He isn't here anymore 🥺💔🖤🖤🖤 #chesterforever
Chester, Layne, Chris, Shannon, Andy, Scott, Kurt, Mark, the list is endless of Lead Singers that have unfortunately left us entirely too soon. As a 57 year old man, outside of Chester, these guys were my peers and bands I gravitated towards through the 90s. This music and these musicians were my "Camelot" so to speak, and could there have been a "cooler" bunch of guys leading the way? To me they were like a bunch of Dark Angels roaming the planet. Unfortunately most of them have left us but I'll say this..... when my demons come calling, and another sunrise doesn't feel possible, I'll ALWAYS have their music to pull me through like it has so many times before. Chester was like the "little brother" to Chris which influenced me to listen to LP more. My point is, these "Dark Angels" which many dismiss and label as "depressing drug addicts" were so much more to so many. They are greatly missed, especially this 57 year old man.
I don't want them to release all of it now. There will come a day when there is nothing left. No more first hearing of Chester's voice. I can't. Give it to me slowly and let me still have those fleeting moments of feeling like he's still here. 🥺

As a huge Linkin Park fan I was not ready for this song either. It's so heartbreaking. 😭😭
Thanks for this reaction. Your channel is amazing.
His voice soothes my soul. Love this new song! R.I.P. Chester B. And thank you for getting me through CANCER! ❤ you always 😢.

This was a recording for the one more light album in 2017, but it didn't make it. It is similar to songs like "halfway right" or "Sharp edges" which were on the album.
and the last chorus in the beginning sounds similar to Battle Symphony as well.
it's also better than most of the album lollllllll
It feels to me like a continuation of Talking To Myself almost, which is the song before Battle Symphony, so it would stand to reason that may have been where this was intended to sit.
Alex honestly I cried 4 times today 😢😢😢I miss him so much rest in peace Chester

Welcome back to youtube Alex
"Seeing him smile breaks my fucking heart" same dude. Same. When I watched this, that first scene where Chester is smiling, made me cry. The more I watch this, the more it affects me. We miss this man so much; and I feel like the band really conveyed their loss and honored his memory in making and sharing this with us knowing that.
It's akin to being asked about life with a best friend who passed away seven years ago. It evokes a mix of pain and cherished memories, leaving you torn between gratitude for the inquiry and frustration at the resurgence of old wounds.
One of my favourite LP tracks despite it only being out a few days. It's catchy, full of emotion, and the video is beautiful
Thank you. You rock bro. Grateful for you.
Their tribute show will never fail to make me cry though, specially during "Numb" where you just see his empty seat or whatever you wanna call it :D
Chester, we miss you and thanks for everything, fortunately we will always have your voice in our backpockets :')
I have missed your videos ❤
