Heavy harrows are probably the best seed bed prep you could do. I haven't cultivated land since the 80s and probably won't ever again. Spread the trash, break the surface crust and seed all in the same day.
Keith Kratzer spread straw, start weed seed and volunteer seed germination for winter kill, dry the ground. In spring they break the straw mat and crust layer to dry and warm the soil
Awesome looking heavy harrows
Never saw so many people that know so little about harrows. My gosh

I think you should cultivate or plow the field before harrow?
TrivixStudio that would be excessive tillage. Harrows are for minimum till and no-till farming in most cases.
I think a row of adjustable straight colters in the front would help with plugging and opening the soil...
At 1:01 the harrow is full of staw, do you dunk it at the end of the gps A-B line or what happens?
Johannes Du Toit usually only once or twice over a 200 acre field
it looks sorta like a massive dethatcher. what's it supposed to do?
tears up old straw and helps winterkill weeds
