Paige and Sarah play off each other at a very high level. THAT is playoff basketball. Now Azzi and Sarah are starting to get a chemistry. That again will be huge in the playoffs. It seems like Kk and Ash have improved. They know where to be and read each other also. This is another chemistry combination that has improved. Jana and Ice have to be a little better. I think you will eventually see Sarah feeding Jana for layups 2 or 3 more times a game than what happens now. It's coming. Aubrey will be a huge lift when she gets back to game shape. Elite defense and athleticism. Good rebounder. That has been a problem.
If Azzi keeps up playing the way we all know she can, then we'll have the 3 players we need to win the National Championship and of course the supporting cast is also extraordinary....teams win more from losing than winning.
It will be interesting to see what happens to the team chemistry when Paige and Aubrey are back. We are quickly running out of time to catch our runner's high. Peace!
Ice and Sarah allow us to pair in several ways. It gives Geno more ways to rest players and to have the best lineup against the opposing team. I don't think of any of them as "starters" or "bench". They're simply played to get the best lineup for the moment.
Always a great program thanks for the upate and prediction. 1) Rarely does one plays to or above their potential when Paige is on the court...the players are always focused on her to be the star (with the exception of Sara. THats why when Paige is off the court..Azzi, Shade, Chen, and K have great games... no Paige.... its all most like they throw her on a pedestal, 2) If Q were to get more minutes who's would she get or what player gets less? Players don't get better by giving more time in a game you earn time by being consistent and better in practice. Note she had 5 fouls in 9 min in the one game she did play... 3) Points in the first half especially the 3's happened because UCONN was going under the screen...once in the 2nd half they went above screen.. the 3pts by Georgetown dropped... all came down with better defense and picking up the energy... they need to do that all the game 4) Nice piece on Chen... :)
Early last year and this, I'd have agreed with 1, but I think they've played with and without Paige enough to know how it works. Q is a curious player. She seems stuck in her development, and I don't really know why. I like Kaitlyn's progress, but she's got to keep at it, just like the other players have to keep improving on their issues.
Hey guys been doing some research in the past few years with Az. Seems like every time she's had a big game Paige backers was not playing at it! Seems like she does better when Paige is not in the game. She's had two back-to-back 30-point games without page being there. Don't know what this means Maybe it's like having to Larry Birds on with the same team only room for one LOL
I agree with you that the team doesn't need Paige to win quite a few of these games. BUT, the danger is that Paige will miss getting herself game tough. How long will that take until she hit's her groove again?
As most of you know, Geno will limit, or entirely sit, players who are not working hard and killing it in practice. Could that be a reason Q is not getting more time?
Given how hard Q plays when she does get time, I find this suspicion hard to believe. I think her effort is there. Unfortunately, I also just think Geno finds her the weakest player so she's all the way at the bottom in rotation. I would like to see her get more minutes though
UCONN 79 ST JOHNS 57 Like the Georgetown game off to a slow start. Once UCONN exploits ST JOHNS weakness they will start pulling away in the third quarter. I need the centers to shoot from the foul line.
Q needs a lot more minutes. Quick to the ball and quick down the court. Only Aubrey, Q, page and KK are capable of fast breaking versus the elite teams.
Sarah isn't as quick, but her height and physical size give her opportunities. I don't think we'll see Jana playing like Aaliyah Edwards, but Ice can do some transition stuff at times. This is an amazingly versatile team.
Thanks!

Griffin adds so much.
I don't think they make the elite 8 without her

Hey Phil and Ry, Q did play!!! She just fouled out the game. I hope Page sits the one out! She needs the recovery before Tennessee.

I agree with letting the injured people heal completely
Morgan Cheli is playing better each game. Ice will become the backup center. Our guards will dominate again.

I think ICE will back-up Sarah. She is really a forward not a center .
I'll be at the game.
I really hope to see Paige live and cooking.
Q could become a DeWanna Bonner type player.
It's good to see JJ jumping to add to the funding of the new unrivaled league too

I am on Aubrey watch now. Also, I don’t think it is a given that Paige will play. She may not imo.

@@RanetkiFan That's a very interesting stat.
Aubrey was in pregame warmup and drills at Georgetown…I was really wanting her to get a few minutes but it was a quite physical game in the end
