thanks! you deserve more likes! so helpfull!
I would add a tracker to each backpack just in case you get separated or somebody gets lost. I would also add hair ties because you never know what you might need to do and having your hair in the way makes everything harder. Plus they can be used to seal bags and as first-aid in some situations. And either a lighter or matches so you can light a fire for warmth, to get somebody's attention, or if it comes down to it to cook food.
That’s a good idea
Good idea
Smart
Yaaas!
Yes
as a diabetic, i have to check my sugar and take medication. i would also suggest any diabetic keep an extra blood sugar kit in their 72 hour bag and 72 hours worth of the medication. obviously it might expire before you need it, so update those meds accordingly in case you don't have time to grab your everyday kits and meds before evacuating! and of course this goes for any other illnesses as well!
Omg I’m also a type 1 diabetic and I’ve been trying to find someone giving advice on one of these for my supplies, I’m on the Omnipod 5 and my insulin needs to be refrigerated
What I currently have:
-Spare charger for my phone and Omnipod
-meter set
-2 spare omnipods
-spare dexcom sensor
-syringes
-ketone strips
-glucose tablets
-alcohol pads
What they didn't add that I would recommend:
1. You did add outfits, but having 2 of each undergarment is a good idea (camisoles, bras, underwear, socks)
2. Trackers so if the family is split up, they can be found
3. Lotion, dry skin is annoying
4. Mini deodorant, sometimes we all smell
5. Hair bands, they can keep items shut or stuck together or be used to pull back your hair
6. A lighter (only for adults) to make fires to cook food, to keep warm, or to signal for help
7. Tissues, to clean up messes and to wipe our noses
8. A battery operated lantern, sometimes we need light when it's dark
9. Tick remover, ticks are everywhere
10. Bug repellant
11. Baby powder for rashes on any part of the body
12. Melatonin (sleep gummies)
13. Tide to go wipes and pen (accidents happen)
14. Thermometer (to detect fevers)
15. Asthma Inhaler ( even if you don't have asthma you might get outnof breath sometimes)
16. Sunglasses
17. Showercaps to protect your hair from bugs and water
18. A note with the kids name, their parents names, the parents email and phone number
19. A note with their doctors contact information *for emergencies where they need a doctor*
Wow your 72 hour kits are awesome!
What I like best about this video is the example you are being to be obedient to the things you’ve been taught. Hopefully your family will never have to be in a situation to have to use these bags but if you are, being prepared is a great way to be. You are teaching that to each of your children and as someone who found your you tube page, I appreciate the examples you are sharing of being intentional in your life’s, prioritizing and sharing.
Thank you!
Keep it up, it’s a good work!
I’d add
tick remover.
Snake bite kit.
Redmond clay
Essential oils
Blister kits
Baby shampoo
Hair ties for girls
Some small toys for the little ones-maybe hot wheel car
Melatonin
Dramamine
Baby powder-helps with rashes
Eye drops
Allergy medicine
Hair ties for girls that is a bit sexist boys can wear hair ties to
i would also add...
- bug spray - just incase you have to sleep outside (like where there's bugs)
- sunshades/visors - no one likes sun in their eyes!
- extra socks/undergarments - always helps to have a few extras :)
- portable sewing kit - (great if anyone's socks or masks rip)
- 4 in 1 shower gel (hypoallergenic) - it's nice to stay clean :) also, it takes up less space in your bag
- shower caps - if you don't want your hair to get wet; or if you are scared bugs will crawl on your hair
- lotion/healing ointment (such as neosporin) - if you are in a dry area, these help for cuts & cracked skin
writing everyone's names in sharpie on the inside of their backpacks helps too - just incase you have special items (ex: medication, vitamins, spare glasses :)
its an emergency not a camping trip
@@dorathehomebody886 lol ikr
I would add a clock
Sadie held up the sub button once I think .I would ad an apple tracker in case someone gets lost
I can’t even read that
An Emergency kit is a must especially where I live we have Hurricanes and tornadoes 🌪 plus tropical storms and sometimes we have to evacuate!!Tiffany I'm so happy you're planning ahead and keeping the family safe!
This is such a smart and clever way to prepare for an emergency I would probably add an instant ice pack for sprains, strains, aches, stings and overheating by reducing swelling and alleviating .
I love your clever hacks and ideas 😘💗
Your so late Oml but same
I’d add:
Mosquito repellent-Prevents mosquito bites.
Asthma inhaler-you’ll never know when you need this.
Thermometer-Easy to detect fevers
not everyone needs the inhaler
One item you should think about is giving everyone $20 just to have in case stores are open but only except cash.
That’s a great idea!! 💡
Cash is smart.
thats a great idea! 💡 ❤️
Ye but 400 dollars is quite a bit of money to be carrying around and some of it with quite young kids
I mean, I am sure Tiffany and Benji plus some of the older kids who are adults will have money in case they absolutely need it.
NAYVEE is Cute young lady
For adults and teenagers I would add an emergency credit card. Those who get one will partner up with 1 or 2 younger children, but the oldest has it in their bag. Love you guys so much!❤😊
I would add:
Astma inhaler
Mosquito spray
Thermometer
A little chewing gum packed helps for stress you may have then
Self defense tool just a simple thing what can protect you
A belt can always be handy
And the last thing i would add is a old towel you can use it for almost everything
BTW love you're family I've been watching you for a while now but just realized I wasn't subscribed yet🤦♀️ love you all keep going with these fun and learn full videos😍❤️

Love that you made this video! We added the Disaster Deck to ours. We had a winter storm last year that left us without power for a week as well as massive forest fires going on around us which caused us to be on standby for evacuation. In addition, we also had a heat wave with 120 degree weather for a week. Other than forest fires, these are all things that we don't normally have in the PNW. Our kids kept getting nervous about remembering what they needed to do for each type of emergency. So we found the Disaster Deck to add to each 72 hour kit. It's a pocket size emergency survival cards with Instructions for disasters. After reviewing them as a family, we added them to their bags and they are much more comfortable than before on what to do for an emergency. We also labeled names on each bag to make it easier for them to know which bag is theirs in case they panic and grabbed the wrong one.
I would add a waterproof piece with some important phone numbers, for the kid's backpacks the number of their parents and grandparents or other trusted persons, just in case the family gets separated in a chaotic situation.
Yess that’s a smart idea
Same
That's actually so smart thank you for adding this!
That’s a very good idea to add
Me to
I would add a list of medications and a list of family medical history to each pack. Someone will always ask about any medical history and any allergies. I would also add contact information to each pack, in case of seperation. Love your program.
I watch you guys every day on UA-cam
I love how you think ahead and for everything!! People don't like to think of these things but it really is important! As we have all learned...anything can happen!! I think I would add a windproof lighter, roll of toilet paper and some candles. The candle wax can also double as a fire starter. The toilet paper could also and be used as Kleenex too. You might not want to put the lighters in the littles bags but I think the adults and older kids might find them useful. Thank you for all you do!
I’d probably add like walk-talkies, mosquito spray or just a normal bug spray. By the way I’m not in the competition live too far away sadly! But congratulations for the ones that gets to be the winners!
love that your always prepare
when i was little my mum made these and every time she like "refreshes" the kit's she would check if the apple airtag's didn't get wet bc 1 time (i wasan't born yet) she lost my sister and there was only 5 of them of when there's 10+ of you i think and airtag would be good! (some other thing like bobble's (hair tie's) lighter's ,charge's ,plastic bags for stink diper's mabye a book for those how like to read , white noise lulby if its hard to sleep and BUG BITE CREAM its a life saver if you're in lets say the wood's bc thoes thing ITCH , an asthma inhaler or a thermomother!) luv you're family keep up the AMAZING work! ❤❤❤❤
I would definitely add bug repellent and anti-fog wipes, especially for people who have glasses!! And for the gas mask.
One thing I would add is a Bible. Instead of worrying about whenever there’s an emergency, I can just read the Bible and feel safer in the name of the Lord! Awesome video!
That is smart

Great idea!!!
Jesus’s died on the cross for you and to go to heaven you have to accept him as your savior to
I’m so thankful that I have 🙌
12:30 Kenadees face😂
You make it so fun
You guys definitely need to add a power bank so that if your phone dies or something you can just charge it through the power bank and some money in each kids bag and maybe an umbrella can come handy while there is a down pour of rain
Good idea power banks, awesome
They put ponchos instead of umbrellas
@@emmyb5219 well ponchos would keep ur clothes dry not ur hair but the rest of u and umbrellas would be harder to store and more expensive
Power banks are also great to have laying around in case of a black out
Yes! Thats really a good idea💡
Me and my family just made 72 hour kits and something I would add is long lasting meals we added tuna fish because it dosnt go bad very quickly we also added things like beef jerkey ( yeah it might get hard but it does give you protein and fills you up!) 😋
It will go bad
@@editscreatah4980 no.
You guys are my favorite UA-camrs love you guy. - Parker 😁
Gas mask were a smart idea! Never would of thought of that. Love how you care so much of ur family:)
ظ😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘👄
I'd definitely add: Matches, Lighters and even some coal. Perhaps with the tent I'd add a small carry stove with small bottle of gas. In case you need extra heat, cooking, heating water... As well as plastic bags. They always come handy. In fact I'd store the clothes and everything in the plastic bags (even double bag the clothes / shoes and have double socks.) or inside giant plastic bag inside the backpack, incase it got wet or you neededed to cross water / swim. Or heavy rain... Perhaps a rubbish bag or two would help as well. Clear plastic bags can also be used to cook in over an open flame. ♥ Loving these kits. Especially that wind up radio, simply brilliant. Makes me feel like I should & would need to make one in case of a tsunami, hurricane, cyclone or fire warning here.
How long did it take to write this
I love your videos!
Hi guys love you❤
I would add a stocking hat or extra pair of socks in case of an emergency during colder weather!
Smart
Jesus loves u
@@PeyPey2010 Jesus love u
Items we thought of was a hat for the sun or cold, small games that are packable, cash (just in case), walkie talkies.. We just love your family. My daughter and I recently found your youtube channels and love watching all of the Nelsons. Thank you for sharing your family and especially your tips to all of us moms. Would love a chance to win the survival backpack but am happy for whoever gets it also :)
And Ty so much for posting I love love love love love your videos
I can also add tissue Love your videos❤
For the adults, I would add copy of drivers license, credit card, social security, insurance documents and cash. I would put these in a ziploc or waterproof container. I’d also add matches or a lighter.
This video was great! You definitely had items I hadn’t thought of. Thank you!
SMART
I would add a iPhone charger because if you can’t get a hold of anyone any other way then you can call 911 if it is a emergancey
Deodorant 😂
@@Ellie-ui9qt I also agree with that 😂😂
Also passport
Amazing ideas of things to include! As part of the parent’s bags I would include a binder of important documents, and for the kids a laminated current family picture (updated when you update the food) so that if kids are too young/ scared the pictures can help authorities more easily identify safe family members. Also fire starter (I fill old toilet paper rolls with dryer lint) and waterproof matches or lighter. Thanks so much for sharing what your family puts in your 72 hour kits!
Yeha
I think u guys should add a air tag and extra packs or clothes for each kid
I would add an AirTag to all of their book bags ❤❤❤❤
This sounds weird but Walkie-talkies!! If y’all get Separated and there’s no cell service you can talk that way!! ❤️
Good idea
Really smart
One item that would be a must add for me personally is my EpiPen. I would add this because sadly I am allergic to milk and peanuts which result in serious allergic reactions and hospitalization if I come in contact. Epinephrine helps to halt the allergic reaction and it helps to reopen the victim's airway that the anaphylactic reaction has swollen shut, which mine does. Not including this in an emergency kit for myself would be a serious hazard and you never know when this kind of stuff can happen. Adding to this, even if you are not aware of having any allergies, this would still be a useful thing to pack because you could possibly discover that you are allergic to something in an emergency, plus if you are with someone who encounters a situation when they or somebody needs an EpiPen you can provided them with one and possibly save that person's life.
This is such a great idea!!
I would add towels. I love your Chanel
Tiffany you are a super mom! Your super powers are a Faith based life loving God, loving and caring for each other, responsibilities, rules, priorities, mixed with hope, fun, preparedness and joy. This is such a gift to your family. Blessings to all!
I so agree! She is such a role model! I don't know if I want 16 kids (haha) but I defiantly want a ton of kids so this channel helps me prepare (even though I am 14 years old tehe). God bless you too Mary and have a great day!
@@FlourishInFaith aw, thank you, I'm a mom of 5 grown children. Take care!
One item that I would have is a hair tie or an extra pair of glasses, for me personally I'm always need my hair up , and I can't see without my glasses so I need glasses to add to my bag. Just in case I didn't have my glasses on in the time that I needed to grab my bag! I just love your guys's videos, you guys do such a good job on them and always make people that are down a lot more happy, Thanks for all the happiness you put out into the world! Good Luck to everyone that try to get into the contest! @NotEnoughNelsons

Love you're videos so much
I would probably pack for the younger kids a stuffed animal of a comfort thing so it they are very nervous they can look at or hug it 🥰 also love you guys

HI I LOVE YOU NOT Enough Nelson
I would love to have a mini bible with me! I believe it’s important to be able to relax and receive comfort from reading and remembering the promises of God in scary situations! 🤎 I also think it would be nice for the kids to have one small toy or booklet from the dollar store to give them something fun to keep them occupied ☺️💕
I live for these videos! Who else her loves these videos.

I would suggest a lead of sunglasses just in case it is sunny

I would add military meals!! Congrats to everyone, God bless!
That's a great idea! God bless you Sheilah and have a wonderful day!💕✝
I believe she keeps a stock of 6 months worth of military type meals.
What a great idea!!! The one item I would add would be CASH. We recently just had a huge storm and we lost power everywhere…. Most gas stations were out of power except we found one… and it was cash only since everything electrical was down. So that’s something I would add…. I LOVE the idea of those straws that you can drink dirty water with. How cool.
I wish I had spare money to do this, but maybe I’ll start slowly buying the most important items and as I get spare money, keep adding to the bag. This must have been a fortune for such a large family! But you’re super smart to do this because you never know…. This would make a great Christmas gift to a loved one. Thanks for sharing this video.
ive entered so many giveaways lol i never get picked but its ok coz u guys are awesome
I love our videos ❤😊
Just a couple of tips that I’ve been taught growing up
1. NEVER write down where you’re going or the directions to get there. Someone can steal it and then it could get dangerous if it’s a life or death situation in the first place.
2. You should have maps and a backup plan incase of any emergency. You can use the maps to find where you’re going but make sure not to mark where you’re going or your route on the map.
3. Make sure you pack shoes that are broken in and sturdy. If you suddenly have to walk several miles in a day you don’t want to have shoes that you’re breaking in. Thick socks also help a lot!
really good tips but I don't know why when I read this I felt a bad feeling in my gut that something isn't right. I'm just going to ignore it but anyways thank you for these tips.
@Maddison Kent
Been 2 months you good sis?
One thing that I would add is something that our teacher always reminds us to include in our emergency bags are my important documents like birth cerficates, etc. 😀
I think you would need those documents in things that are not emergencies but I would suggest you put it in a bag that would be easy to grab
I have all of our important information like this in a binder and have it where I can grab and go. I got the idea from a Red Cross worker and it is a lifesaver
I love your videos, they're so cool.😂😂😂❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😅😅😅😅🎉🎉
I love your videos
I would definitely add a solar powered power pack for charging electronics. If you were to be in a situation where this kit would be appropriate then a power pack would be great! It could keep your phone charged so that you could keep checking updates or reach family members with no power.
An item I would include in the older kids/adults is a manual food can opener, one or two flares, a garbage bag (or a few) in each kits maybe. You guys are great preparing these and helping people with ideas of what they should have, especially with a family this large!
They already put the can opener in it
@@laurasheehan4453 gotcha, it was on the multi tool, still good to have a single one incase the multi tool fails.
a fire stater too
Books, Games, Puzzles 🧩, Just activities for children 👧 ❤!!
I love y’all ❤❤
Definitely a tracker and some hair ties because you never know when you’re need them
When I pack for emergency purposes. I find it helps to have a list of emergency techniques such as how to start a fire what to do if someone's choking or how to do CPR. But put that on a laminate piece of paper so that way it stays dry at all times.
yeah or maybe for the little kids a list of whats in there and how to use it and of course laminated paper
and phone numbers on there too !
@@galacticaqua2255 absolutely
I would add a list with family phone numbers or emergency numbers for each kid in case they need to call someone or ask for help, maybe I would even add a picture of the family so if they get lost they can ask for help ❤️
You could also add a clock so you don’t lose track of time
I love how you plan all of this in case and emergency ever happens! You’re great parents!
You guys are amazing
The picture and phone numbers is a really good idea

I love how organized this is! My aunt tried this with her kids but they didn't end up finishing cause my cousins were messing around too much. This is so amazing, if I don't win the giveaway I will definitely make a couple of these for my family! A few things I would add are toilet paper, a watch, and spare cash.
ohhhh toilet paper is smart

For ladies I would recommend packing a menstrual cup instead of pads/tampons. They are small, hygienic and reusable 🌸
The kids who are new to periods wouldn't be comfortable with the menstrual cup and in emergencies I don't think they want to learn how to use it its not great for the little guys
Not everyone would be comfortable with using a cup. Some might not even be comfortable using a tampon. Trying to learn to use something as sensitive as that would just cause more stress to the situation. I get what your saying though maybe for the ones who can use it that would be good.
I would probably add a pack of playing cards to help with the tention of the emergency! Xx
I think you guys should add pillows bc where you set uo your tent it met be hard
Thanks for the Betoveen reference!!! Hahaha
Who else is addicted to Not enough Nelson’s?
Each pack already has the most important factor: love and care. The only thing I might add is an identification tag on each pack. Just in case anyone gets lost, especially the young ones, a tag with their names and a phone number for an emergency contact would be useful!
I like the idea but never put your child’s name on stuff like that, just the contact details x
Safety comes first 😊
the backpacks are so cute! does anyone know where they are from? let me know
Two more things I would add to the survival kit is $40 cash each, and a survival guide to help remind the kids about certain thing like starting a fire or emergency aids. Adding a pocket sized bible would also be important.
I don‘t think the Bible is necessary because it just adds A LOT of weight and they can live without one for a few days.
I would love to have a 72 hour survival kit for my daughter and I. You really thought of everything but I would add a hat and a pair of socks. I've been a big supporter for a long time now. I never miss a video! Subscribed and liked 👍
Love you all ❤
Hi and I love your videos
Can we just appreciate how they make these videos to inertan us and do all these things for us 😊😢
I think a great thing to have is Mountain House freeze dried food that has a 30-year shelf life and a Jetboil to boil the water needed to cook the freeze dried food. I started to stock up on the food. I did try some and they taste good. Thank you for giving subscribers a chance to win a emergency kit.
Love these! Been wanting to put one together for myself. I’d add a box of matches and fire starting bricks!
I love your videos and you guys where the first ones I subscribed when I got UA-cam
Those water filters need an insulation bag for each of them. The internal component can freeze.
For 72 hour kits, a good thing to add into the kit would be a walkie-talkie so you can communicate with each other, in an emergency.
I would recommend just taking as much packaging off as usual so that in an emergency you don’t have to try and open everything, especially since so much packaging requires a knife or scissors to open :)
That’s why they added the pocket knife and plyer kit
honestly just get apple air tags for all of them but hide them in the wipe case
Nice. Would have been nicer if you had a list of everything and Amazon affiliate links...
