As an Asian man, I truly believe that teaching the real history of the US is important for everyone to learn. The more they try to hide it, the more guilty they look for trying to continue the atrocities and for trying to move us back to those times. They will not win at whatever game they're trying to play.

If OUR history is OUR history then it is OUR responsibility to TEACH it!!! We turned over our oral tradition of passing down OUR history to a system, that was never for us from the start. NOW look where we are!!! Say it loud, " I'm Black and I'm PROUD!"

Teaching Black History in school will show how long hatred for Black Americans been around. Some of these kids today have said and believe Europeans hating us was a long time ago, and things have changed since then. When I was in grade school (elementary through high school), Black History was not taught in public schools. We learned about Black History at home and in Black churches. Actually, I am happy that I learned Black History from my family elders and at the Black churches because there was no censorship.

When I was in school we weren't taught black history. However, we learned it on our own, and still learning.
To me if they are going to play these game, then no history course should be AP if they are not going to allow AP Black History. Our HBCUs need to step up and create a single online platform for our history that can be grant college credit given that is back by accredited schools.

I remember when I was in high school in the 60s. We took turns standing outside of the classroom to tell the teacher when someone was coming toward the class. This was only when she was teaching us on black history. It's a shame, back then we were not allowed to be taught about our own history.

History was a very minor interest of mine in school. As an adult, i am sooo curious to know more history! If you have a good teacher with true, historic information, our children may be more eqqipped to handle their future when we are gone! I want children to be educated properly.

Teaching Black History in school will show how long hatred for Black Americans been around. Some of these kids today have said and believe Europeans hating us was a long time ago, and things have changed since then. When I was in grade school (elementary through high school), Black History was not taught in public schools. We learned about Black History at home and in Black churches. Actually, I am happy that I learned Black History from my family elders and at the Black churches because there was no censorship.
