The Forward Step in Samba is the most popular step in samba because so many dance steps in samba contain a forward step. The samba forward step is within a forward botafogo, a side samba walk, samba walks, cruzado walks, samba lock steps and many many more samba dance steps.
This is why this tutorial is such an important one!
    I hope you enjoy it.
    Happy Dancing!

I thought Cruzado Walks were supposed to have regular "& 1 & 2" bounce, so you would have to straighten the standing leg knee before the moving leg passes into a forward step.

Thanks so much for your feedback! When dancing, if you blend steps 2 and 3 together, then it produces the effect that you are talking about. I've always broken them into 2 when teaching, because I've found it helped my students better perform the actions. When dancing the step to slow or regular timing, you'll see that they do absolutely merge. I hope this helps. And thanks again so much for your feedback.

@@MilaDanceSport Thank you for your marvellous answer! I trained to be a basic level competitive teacher and we were taught the Laird technique, so I'm always trying to apply it to better understand where Latin Dancing comes from and how it works.
