    I've had one for around a year now. I have four Martins, and although it doesn't match the sound of my big dreads, this is my most used guitar due to comfort and portability. I also changed out the saddle and pins for bone almost right away. Nice improvement.

    No matter which guitar you're playing, it sounds like a million dollars. You get some of the greatest Blues runs Ian....

    Thanks, this is the best guitar demo out there- so many demos are just people just trying to show off with super fast finger picking. I'm having a hard time tossing up between this and the gs mini (walnut or rosewood)

    Played one at Sweetwater and thought it was really comfortable to play. The retro strings are a nice touch. May yet buy one for travel. The GS mini beats it on looks, but I prefer the tone and feel of the Martin.

    so very interesting here - to me for my ear this solidifies the dreadnought shape as my ideal - i prefer this smaller dreadnought to the taylors/OM/000 i have heard here and else where - dreadnought for the win for me moving forward
    I think the dreadnought is just a genius design in its simplicity as form follows function

    I liked everything about the one I had except...I just could not get used to the Richlite fingerboard. It may have been all in my mind but it never felt right to me.

      I've got several Martins including this one. I really can't feel a difference between richlite and ebony. This is the most comfortable of the bunch to play.

    Hi Sir nice review! Do you think that the bridge pin holes are standard size like from all Martin? Because i plan to buy Graptech bridge pins, and not sure if traditonal or presentation style will fit the pin holes... 🤔

    Is this guitar a lot smaller than the D10E I’m a smaller guy only 5’4 so I’m not sure which one to buy. I’m only a campfire player

    • @ianmeadows6351
      @ianmeadows6351  4 роки тому +2

      its a good deal smaller. It would serve your needs as a campfire picker very well, its a very comfortable guitar to play

    I have a same model DJr10e , and may I ask if you have loose wiring inside the body as well Im wondering if its like that for all? Its just kinda bothering me when shaking the guitar and i hear it dangling😀

      @ahmadfirdaushilmi9555 4 роки тому

      Omg i have martin djr 10 e too and i have the same problem, it’s like the bracing is loose in the middle of the back or something, or it just meant to be played while sitting down (sounds like heaven) idk might have to bring it to luthier i think

      I’m having the same problem with this guitar I recently purchased, the wires just dangle and I think that is causing a rattle sound inside the body. Did you s ever manage get it sorted on your guitars?

    • @nbacoco
      @nbacoco Рік тому

      @@Mollieannepine i just leave it like that, didnt bother to find solution 😄... im not planning to play rock n roll style with this guitar so... its alright haha

    • @Mollieannepine
      @Mollieannepine Рік тому

      @@nbacoco I’ll probably end up just leaving it, however I’m not sure if that’s what is causing a rattle from inside the guitar when playing certain notes. Depending on how much it annoys me I might have to get a tech to check it out! Haha

      Correct me if I am wrong, but this demo is for the original Martin DJr, not the DJr-10.
      Djr is deeper in depth and sound.

    I’m wanting to get my wife another guitar. She has a Gibson Orginal Dove that is Vinatge Starburst. I’d like to get her something we can travel with and she can take to family events and play. I loved the idea of getting her a Martin. I stumbled across the Junior series. I don’t play so I am not well educated on guitars. Any help is appreciated. Would you suggest the DJR or the 000JR?

      The dreadnought is better for strumming and the ooo for finger picking. I'll be buying the dreadnought soon. Very versatile guitar.

    The only sad thing to me is they used real wood for the body and neck, but went with richlite plastic for the tailpiece and fret board. Why not use ebony or rose wood and make it all nice. It wouldn't have raised the price that much.

    • @jeffmurphy9987
      @jeffmurphy9987 6 місяців тому

      Rich lite is actually more expensive than wood. Martin is trying to be more responsible with renewable resources. I’m really liking my fretboard no more oiling cleaning. Can’t tell any difference when playing.

    Ian, first I want to to tell you I really like your playing combining strumming, flatpicking, and fingerstyle while playing your folksy, bluesy style into your demos. I am pretty convinced that the older d jr is richer and fuller sounding than the new d jr-10 without being able to try either one, What is your opinion on this? Also, do you think that the gs mini mahogany is so different than the older d jr that it would warrant buying both, since that is what I am considering? What do you think of the gs mini hog? I would appreciate your opinions. I am also considering the Martin 000-10e instead of both the gs mini along with the older d jr. I was thinking that the 000-10e might give me the best of both worlds, but now I am leaning towards having both the hog mini and the older d jr, which can still be found on Reverb. I did send you an email about the 000-10e (yup, that was me). Anyway, I hope to get your opinions. I am really digging your acoustic guitar demos. Cheers!

    • @ianmeadows6351
      @ianmeadows6351  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks my friend. I would say the 000-10e would get my vote between the two, but we're talking personal preference before. Can't say I really remember what the old model Dread JR sounds like, but you may be right there.
