    Crazy thing is i passed by Mr Overton house lots of time as a youngster and never knew who he was. Im just happy he left us alll with words to live by. Salute Mr Overton. R.I.P.

    Not easy though he is lucky to b alive still living in a world rapidly changing very diff what a world he had before where he can't cope with the changes because of his age all he is doing is going back remembering the past his experiences giving word of wisdom sharing his thoughts minds belief he is a treasure for the young his past but he finds hard to be part of the present modern world now he is gone all he left is sweet memories rest in peace sir thank you for your service to the country finally u will meet ur comrade again

    He had quite a life growing up as well. Grew up in places most Austinites themselves didn’t even know about in nearby communities like St. Mary’s Colony and Creedmoor. His father was a sharecropper and on cold winter mornings, he and his father would be sitting by the fireplace drinking Gordon’s gin. 😊

      It was a home built in the 1940’s. They didn’t have a bunch of storage space like now. But yes, the oven should be for pots and pans for a small home, not cereal!

      He probably never uses the oven for cooking so he uses it for storage space. I've known elderly people to do this.

      He didn’t ravage his lungs with tobacco, just his mouth. Dentures as a result, but fortunately no tongue, gum, or throat cancer ever happened.
