@@1stlullaby484In Lichess tournaments, there is sometimes the option to 'berserk' against your opponent. If you decide to berserk, you will get half the time your opponent has and if you win, you will gain 4 points for winning instead of 2.

I read above that he also won the Lichess Blitz titled arena as well 48 points clear of second place, I checked and he played 51 games in that titled arena winning 42 games losing 6 games and drawing 3, it is important to note that he berserked in the vast majority of his games, probably to polish his accuracy under time pressure, he is in an incredible Blitz form this week

You may like Hikaru Nakamura or not, but everyone has to admit that he has honesty and courage to call things like they are. Carlsen was his worst competition during all his career in speed chess and probably because of Magnus Hikaru never won World blitz and rapid Championship titles, but he still admits that Carlsen is the best. It is very tough truth to say it out loud basically , that "other player is better than me", no excuses, not wiggling around. Not many sportsmans in the world can do it. Kudos to Hikaru

I've said it once and I'll say it again, Magnus is a Hispter Samurai.
How would you feel about an online round robin blitz tournament where the players did not know who their opponent was each round? I think that would be a cool twist. Would get rid of the "magnus effect" for sure
players would know it was Magnus after the 10th move, which is when the Magnus effect really starts to matter. Every player has a style, and Magnus' style is very unique/obvious to himself
People have style and top players can easily recognise them 😅
Magnus himself suggested this idea on the Lex Fridman podcast. I don't think people would be able to tell so easily, it would be a really interesting tournament, I hope they do it.
The flip side of that is that players will be wondering when they're playing Magnus. Like if their opponent has good time management and consistently makes good moves, they're going to start thinking that it might be Magnus. So the "Magnus effect" would still be in full swing.
