Johns crying, Matt’s crying, I’m crying. This was amazing. If anyone sees this, please pray for my husbands conversion to the faith.
I will pray for you husband! Thank you for watching!
I watched this last nite ard 2 to 3 am (in malaysia) i was crying the whole time too. So touching testimony..

@@justaguyinthepew no THANK YOU for making this video! I appreciate the prayers and are praying for you too. Life changing video.
@@juw225 right? I cried the whole time. I cleaned while listening until 11:30pm. Couldn’t turn it off. God bless
Shout out to John's wife, Angela for being such a badass woman throughout John's trials and tribulations.
A freakin men. Nothing without Jesus and my Angela!
I would adore an interview with Angela. She is a BOSS woman that I hope is blessed beyond measure.
Yes shout to her and other strong women (like my wife 🙂) who have helped us get a handle on our addiction 🙏
Half way through this great testimony - just to say that Neil is doing a great job changing camera angles to capture all the emotions going on on either side of the table and still giving us focus on the guest AND a general view of them both AND not too much back and forth. Really great, keep it up !
Probably one of the most authentic and powerful testimonies that I have ever heard.
Thank you for saying that. Please share away for it helps as many people as possible!
I ugly cried. What a powerful testimony.
Thanks for watching Luke!
Me too, brother. It was indeed beautiful.
John, it doesn't matter how many times I hear your story I am always moved to tears by it. Matt, your genuine reactions to John's story are heartwarming. Your quotes about Angela are so very true, "What a woman" "Angela, you are a beautiful woman" and "I love your wife" are so on the mark. She is one incredible woman and a strong Catholic. Thank you for having John on your podcast, I love your work.
Love you too Amy!
I was just thinking the other day that Matt should interview an ex-addict, and here it is..
"And the truth shall set you free"
~John 8:32
That was a very moving testimony.. Thanks be to God for this beautiful man! And thank you Matt for inviting him on your show.
Thank you!
Its 3am NZ Divine Mercy time.Had to stop listening,Offered up 2 decades for your guest and you. Brought to mind Concluding prayer of D.M. ^Eternal Father whom Mercy is endless and Treasury of Compasion INEXHAUSTIBLE ...that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent...^1st Class conversion testimony given bankground in drugs and alcohol. PRAY for ALL who are suffering and going thru the same as you did to hear and listen to such a GREAT story, THANK you again Matt for bringing WHEW! what a story, with blessings.
This episode is so powerful. Absolutely amazing.
Thanks Connor!
Welcome home brother!! God is so good. Viva Christo Rey 🙏✝️❤️
God bless Angela! What a beautiful example of a saintly woman!
I can't put into words how powerful your testimony has been for me. The mercy of Jesus has me in tears. Praise God for His redemption in your life and His unfailing love for us all. He truly gives more than we can ask or imagine. Thank you for reminding me of how much I have to be grateful for and how much I need to return to Him. May God abundantly bless you both!! 🙏🙏
Thank you Katarzyna! I am so glad God used it to bless you!
I shared this to my sons .

Is there a “Jane” Edwards podcast, or Just a Gal in the Pew? This guy is wonderful and I need a female version of this.
I agree
😭😭😭😭💖💖💖 this is amazing. Thanks Matt for the long interviews.
I never cry. But I cried. And then realized Matt was crying too. So that's okay.
Thank you for watching!
This was absolutely unreal. Thank you both 🙏
Your welcome! Thanks for watching!
I dont know why I have been avoiding this episode, probably due to my past. So glad I watched it. Thank you, John!
What an inspirational episode! Thank you! After watching it I just want to pray and go to church more often. God bless.
This was absolutely amazing! Thank you so much for sharing your story....Matt you and your podcast are a blessing to us all ! God bless you and all your guests 🙏🏻❤🙏🏻❤🙏🏻❤
Is there a video of Angela telling her side of the story? She's a real hero in this story.
We are working on this! She wants to share her side. You are so right, there are to heroes in this story and I am not one of them. It was Jesus and Angela.
@@justaguyinthepew looking forward to it! This is the second time I'm watching your story (first time was on the Catholic talk show). I was still so moved and I think I'll be moved even after the 100th time. God is so very merciful.

We’re all broken. Some more dramatically than others.

THIS guy's STORY is Very INTERESTING.
I love the way he tells his story, 2nd time listening
Thursday, I love this episode. The ones with personal testimonies are so good.
A fellow NAPA Auto Parts alumni! Phenomenal turnaround story, God Bless.
Hahaha. Thanks for watching!
Just beautiful! Thank you for opening your heart. You have shown great humility. God bless you and protect you and your beautiful family.
Thank you Adriana. God bless you!
Incredible podcast! Enjoyed it from start to finish.
Memphis baby! That’s my home. Hope to meet John someday!
The glass window of lies. Powerful
Matt,
Your podcast is amazing dude. I met John 3 years ago through CMLA and have heard his story many times. But, in this setting, it provided him the comfort zone to go deeper. I hope to get to work with you some day through ministry. I direct a men's conference in the Diocese of Beaumont, Texas. John will be a presenter this coming August. Hopefully we can work you into 2023. John has my contact info.
This is a beautiful testimony.
Incredible witness. Can't recommend this enough. So convicting of the unrelenting love of God.
Thanks Riley!
I've really enjoyed this one. It's amazing how God can work through everyone.
Dusty used to say " I'm coming to Tampa Town". Rick Flare's "famous "Woo!"
Incredibly moving!
PSALM
10/27/21
Holy Spirit, magnifier of all,
pray in me the truth
to enter into truth where I am not.
There is no creature smaller than me;
my smallness is upheld
with yet more smallnesses.
Above my head I see more ground;
buried is my corpse
beneath yet more bodies of death.
I have no grip on things;
my words have lost their power;
my feet do not move across the ground.
I am like the stone the builders rejected
which has not become a cornerstone
but broke apart into rubble upon rubble.
Exchange me for you, great One!
Strain me into solutions of your name;
pulverize me into your powders;
sanctify the complications I have made.
I am a sequence of lost failures
without your touch;
I am a being without place
unless your genius place me.
Come, Holy Spirit,
nearest water,
listen to the plea of my scorched heart!
Piece me back together what I've broken.
Lead me to drink
where I am found.
"I ugly cried!!?" I cried oo.
One of the best so far
This was an amazing interview!!! Thank you!!
Is there a program for women similar to the one John has created for men? I'm just exploring ways to spark the Holy Spirit in women. I find people are so scared to open up and share , to be vulnerable.
Thank God for this inspiring story!
1:44:40 oof, I need to start talking to myself like this. Thanks for the reminder.
I'm post under my husband cause I haven't quite figured out how to sign him out of Google and me in lol. With that out of the way, know my prayers are with you and please pray that my husband can see that knowing the words of God doesn't excuse him from having to apply them himself. I hear these guys talking of their wives with such love and I beg God that Tom will see that maybe I'm worth some of that effort. No pity party here just really need some godly love from him.
♥️Our Lord is amazing ♥️
Bible Study Evangelista!!! Finally something for pissed off women in pain!!!
I needed this
So powerful, Amen ❤️🙏😭
Truly touched... Viva Cristo Rey
Thank you!
Great interview Matt.
When that "Verbum caro factum est" hits, I get tears every time.
My frat had a matchbook. If you ran out of matches you were out
Wrestling is real, people are fake. As a ex pro-wrestler there is elements that are real. By far the best intro to anyone of your shows! Also LETS GO BRANDON!!!
Thanks for watching
And actually cocaine is not a physiological addiction like heroin. I was a crack addict for 15 years and heavy into it. I’d smoke all night and when I heard the song of that first bird at dawn, I would panic. That was on weekends. During the week I’d smoke from the tolimr I got home til I couldn’t afford any more for that day & then try & get rest to get up, get on the bus for work. Went to work everyday. But I was recluse & hid. It was a hell. I am eternally thankful & grateful that Jesus gave me a second chance to work out my salvation. Amen! Totus tuus. Viva Cristo Rey!
I haven’t seen this yet, but is the pouring of the beer necessary? I mean, we are talking about addiction.
Thanks
Remember Junk Yard Dog?
amazing
If you are still in Memphis, did you enjoy the Eucharistic Congress? I loved hearing your testimony and was also ae to journal some noted. I moved to western TN a year ago.

What happened to his job?
They let me keep it and I stayed there another two years until I felt the call of the Lord to go into full time ministry.
I enjoyed the interview very much until the point where John said he didn’t pray the rosary daily. If John is serious about his apostolate he needs be serious about the mother of God who asked that we pray the Rosary. There is no higher prayer that is pleasing to God than the Rosary (after the Mass of course)
Hi Decrevi,
I appreciate the comment. I am very serious about my apostolate and I was being honest that I don’t have the relationship that I would like to have with the rosary Yet. It is something I am working on.
The rosary is neither biblical nor of sacred tradition. As a catholic, I do not mean to say that you should not pray it, only that it is a devotion.
@@sethball1319 of course it’s fully biblical? The Our Father is in the Bible, Hail Mary . When Christ died he left us no written texts, he left us a church. The rosary is a prayer (not a dogma of faith) you don’t have to pray the rosary as a catholic, it’s not required as part of our faith. But it’s a prayer, and prayer is good
comment for the algorithm
This is a top 5 episode. Absolutely incredible. Praise God!
Thank you so much for watching Andrew! I really appreciate it!
"Every sinner has a future and every Saint has a past"
Amen!
That is such a simple saying, but so powerful. I can't stop reading it, it is so true. Thank you.
@You.Just.Lost.TheGame it’s a quote by Oscar Wilde
I'm stunned by the grace that led him to confession at his lowest
When you pray your prayers folks, pray for the lost.
John has a glorious redemption testimony. But not everyone makes it. Like those he saw in that clinic.
The demons of addiction are strong, and they need humanities prayers.
I’ve been beating the sh!t out of myself over my 3+ year nicotine addiction. It isn’t coke, but it sure is a struggle, and I really appreciated this conversation. Thank you both.
I've been addicted to nicotine (smokeless tobacco) since I was in high school and I just turned 30. Trying to get off of it has given me withdrawals to where I can't even function lol, so I know exactly how difficult it can be. Good luck to you too!
@@MrTkillian yeah, it can be pretty bad. I feel it taking a toll on my body every day, but when I remove it from the equation, I can barely get out of bed. Talking? Thinking? Working? Good luck lol. It's a struggle but "thanks be to God who has given us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ".
@@spencermead5338 It was exactly the same for me, couldn't get out of bed and shaking like I was on drugs all day lol. Good luck to you, too!
How is it Matt smokes cigars on his shows and thinks nothing of the terrible addiction as well as being a very band influence to young and old Christian men? Aren’t we supposed to be free of vices and place all our trust and hope for healing in Lord Jesus Christ alone who alone is the balm of Gilead?
@@MichElle-zc9tu would you tell christ that he is wrong to drink with tax collectors?
After I ended up in rehab, I realized the only honest conversations I had during my drug addiction was with my drug dealer.
Thank you for sharing your story. I love to hear when someone else has been rescued from the despair of drugs by the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Glory be to Christ Almighty!
Thank you for sharing Kevin! I know that feeling all to well.
God bless you brother!
Same here
I never share things because I'm afraid of oftending some of my non-catholic friends or people who don't want to hear anything religious. But I shared this. Too important not to share. God bless you both.
Thank you so much!!!
This was excellent. Easily top 20 Pints episodes of all time. John is a great example of not just how to repent after habitual sin but how to move on from there faithfully even though you still struggle.
Thank you Chad! God bless you for watching brother!
This is one of the all time best interviews Matt Fradd has ever released. Amazing, beautiful story. Thank you, John, for sharing this with the world.
Your welcome José! Thank you so much for your kind words!
Wow! John's story is so incredible and real. God is so powerful. I was glued to the screen from start to finish during this interview. I just got engaged, and pray I can be half the wife Angela is. I would love to hear her story too. I hope more people hear this story,
I remember watching John tell his story on one of your past episodes and being absolutely blown away. It deepened my trust and faith in God and gave me hope in my own life. John, thank you for sharing your beautiful story and for being such a man of God. God bless you and your family!!
Wow. Thank you so much for your kind words. It’s my pleasure to share in the hopes that it our pain and struggle helps someone else
I need to find a man like Matt Fradd and John. Someone who will lead me to Christ and I him.
John's honesty is beautiful and inspirational!
Thank you Rebecca!
Excellent interview! So happy for John that he found the path that worked for him. No diss on him that the 12 steps didn't help much (or maybe it did a bit) but as soon as this podcast ended, a recent Bihop Barren video came up and he mentioned the 12 steps and how the acknowledgment of needing a higher power is so crucial. 🙂
I can't express how thankful I am or the grace God gave me through this conversation. It was exacfly what i needed to hear.
I've struggled with pornography for almost 10 years and have never been able to say it because of the fear. I can't lie about it. God is good, and thank you Matt and John for this.
So inspiring, and such a beautiful conversation between 2 men! John's testimony and spiritual encouragement truly embodies what first attracted me to truly embrace Catholicism. It's in stark contrast to many Catholic UA-cam channels that are basically just offering up a delve into a daily Church scandal. This is such a great channel, Matt!
Thank you so much for watching. God bless you!
Great interview. I’m a Mum with children raised in and left the faith. Hardest thing in the world is to have your life efforts completely rejected by your children who you’ve poured your life into. Sadly many families do judge you and even sadder shun you. We all rightly celebrate when a prodigal son comes home but as Catholics we need to do so much better in loving and supporting families whose child/children have gone astray while they are walking that road. This is what we aren’t prepared for when we raise our children in the faith.
Just reading this. I’m so sorry you are going through that pain and sorrier about the shunning. I think I’m shocked that you are being treated that way. I pray you find the Lord’s presence, grace, strength and guidance and a loving godly community ❤
@@CICMCB thank you and it’s ok I have come a long way in the past 10 months! God is good and while they haven’t come home to the faith I have found good friends through this who are very compassionate and understanding and the suffering draws us closer to Our Lord.
I was writing this while sleep deprived I should have written “more sorry” not “sorrier”ugh!
@@time-out-tuti-fruti5142 that’s beautiful! Praise God!🙏🏻
@@CICMCB with some hindsight I’ve become more philosophical about the perceived shunning… I now wonder is it because people don’t know what to say or do so avoid you 🤷🏻 If this happens to someone you know treat them as you always would. If they wish to tell you more they will, if not then just being normal is the kindest thing for to do and a relief from the turmoil sometimes. I’m glad this came back up as even though circumstances have changed little Grace has changed us. X
Well, thanks a lot Matt and John. I haven't shed a tear as a man for many years and now here I am balling my eyes out, blubbering like a baby in the office at work. What a powerful witness of Christ's peace, healing, and mercy.
Hahaha. Thanks for watching and for your kind words!
1:21:00 From what he said before, he was in a state of grace. Ive been timelining if he was in a state of grace this whole time. He went to confession 4 days before he went to jail...Holy Thursday. Was bailed out and went to church Easter. Then went to this church. So unless he committed a mortal sin, he was in a state of grace.
It isn't often when a video will make me ugly cry, but this time, it did. God bless you both brothers.
I was intrigued by the clip from this interview. I was moved to tears at God's Mercy and Provision.
Thank you for watching!
The word that keeps coming up
Selfish
It resonates so much with the church's teaching that children are a gift and they are a reflection of God's love. That they make us put aside our selfishness.
This is the most powerful episode I have seen so far from this show
Thank you for watching and for saying that Michael!
God lead me to this interview. Praise God, this is what I needed to hear.
May the Lord be with you and bless you.
Whatever you are going through, don’t give up. All our stories may be very different but essentially the same, enslaved, crippled and in darkness without Him, with Him, light and mercy, a long journey but He’s there to pick us up every time we fall, grasp our hands and help us along the way. Let’s keep grabbing His Hands! May we meet in heaven
I have a question...how could anyone in good conscience downvote these two men of God?
Halfway through and I'm crying my eyes out. Thank you for sharing. Today this is an important story for men to hear.
Thanks so much for watching it!
This is a powerful podcast! Thank you John for sharing your testimony.
You are welcome brother!
As always you bring on great stories Matt! Praying for all of us in marriage to be as good as the speakers wife and praying for our priests to be solid in speaking the truth in a merciful way ! You guys make me wanna stop everything and go pray! 😉
Very powerful. God bless and protect all our men, husbands, brothers, sons, nephews, uncles, friends. Thanks for sharing your story, John.
Incredible story! I cried at least 50 times.
Thanks for watching God bless you!
Phenomenal testimony and interview. So much hope!! God bless you both.
I just want to say that I cried my heart out watching this video. How great is our God. I hope John and his family are infinitely blessed🥰🙏
Thank you so much for that! And for watching!
God Bless this man, thanks for sharing this John. This story will stick with me.
I wish I could show this to South African men. Men weeping from experiencing the mercy of their brides. Learning what it means that God made them men.
Here... The more you can tolerate the better. They'll tell you a woman grabs a bull by the horns. It's sad.
And I'm glad Rock bottom made John ask 'what does it mean that I'm a man' in that prison cell. That's where life begins. That's where meaningless battles end.
WOW! WOW! WOW!!! Simply BEAUTIFUL. What a BEAUTIFUL wife and your father too. GREAT priest to insist you take the BODY of CHRIST.what a Godly Welcome..GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME.THANK you for bringing this fantastic testimony. GOD BLESS
