- Hi Friends! Welcome back.
In this video I am sharing our curriculum picks for my sons sixth grade year. We have some repeats that we have used the past two years, because we love the curriculum. We also have some new things we are using because we are graduating ourselves from the Foundations program with Classical Conversations, and I decided it was time to take more in depth looks into subjects, instead of just doing the memory.
Don't get me wrong, we love CC and we loved the memory work, I just felt it was time for him to move forward and dive deeper in those areas.
He is also interested in playing school sports, so more detailed subjects, detailed record keeping, and grading are going to be happening as well.

Just remember homeschooling is an individualized journey, that is part of what makes it so special, so try not to feel pressured or like you need to do what others are doing or keep up with anyone else!

Wow, has the Essentials been updated recently?
No. The 5th edition is the most recent. It was put out a couple years ago. The program is the same. The curriculum book was laid out a little different. Mainly just updating some things it appeared.
Where did you get your handwriting book?
Our cursive book is from classicalconversations.com We have last year’s cycle 2 book. I am attaching a link to this years cycle 3, American history book of the exact same type. The link should take you to the item in their bookstore. Let me know if you have any more questions!

Also, just wanted to add another handwriting option that we also love and may purchase again. It’s by TGATB. They have different levels and it has a little more instruction, not just tracing and copy work. Both incorporate some drawing as it helps with the fine motor skills.
