Yep, he was in the Beijing Olympics but unfortunately ended up 4th, after that I think he did 1-2 more competitions and then declared his retirement to start as a pro skater (mainly doing ice shows).
Beijing Olympics was his last competition, then he was in the Fantasy On Ice tour, after which he announced his retirement from competitive figure skating in July.
Beijing was actually his last competition, he did some shows during the off-season in Japan, brought some amazing programs and then he became a professional athlete in July. I also want to add that he was robbed at the olympics, like regardless of everything that happened if the judges followed the rules properly which they never do coz they had their eyes shut fast when the medallists made clear mistakes. Yuzu should have been on the podium and tbh scoring corruption at the olympics is not really a surprise/new. The way he has been treated and basically the last 4 years was a set up to this. The women's event was terrible as well with the doping and unfair judging as well.
The 2017 Worlds in Helsinki is my favorite comp. Yuzu's FS, Hope and Legacy, was just beyond. Legendary, amazing, beautiful. I rewatch it from time to time when I need happy thoughts and energy.

I’m not saying I don’t believe everyone but I never fully trust anything until I’ve confirmed it with my own eyes.)
lmao nah, Javi literally backstabbed him on a tv show. Not a lot of people knew it before because he was speaking in Spanish but someone translated on February what he actually is saying and it's horrible. Even I was a big fan of their relationship back then but I was surprised to see that he has been backstabbing him for a long time now. He even accused Yuzu of lying about the hole in the ice when it was literally so evident. He had the audacity to speak ill on Yuzu just because he knew that Yuzu wouldn't understand what he was saying anyway. Yuzuru even cried so hard when Javi told him that he was going to retire but when Yuzu retired Javi said that Yuzu was afraid of the younger generation lol. There was also a recent interaction between them and it was after everything got revealed and man it was awkward. That was the most staged interaction I've seen from them if you're going to compare it to their past videos.
