How I Became a British Citizen After 12 Years! | My Naturalization Journey & Citizenship Ceremony

- Welcome back to my channel! In this video, I have some exciting news to share with you all. After working towards this goal for 12 years, I am now a British citizen and I am thrilled to share this moment with you. The route that I followed to obtain British citizenship was through long residency, which required me to lawfully live in the UK for at least 10 years. After obtaining indefinite leave to remain, I was finally able to apply for naturalization.
In this video, I also take you along with me on my journey to submit my application to the Home Office and share the documents that were required for my application. If you have already completed the indefinite leave to remain in the UK application, the majority of the documents you have provided will be used again, including the English test and the life in the UK test. However, it is important to provide proof of your address in the UK and proof of your English proficiency. If you are the spouse of a British citizen, you may be able to apply for British citizenship after holding indefinite leave to remain in the UK.
After waiting patiently, I finally had my British citizenship ceremony and it was an unforgettable experience. I am so happy to have achieved this dream and I hope that my journey inspires you to pursue your own dreams.

Congratulations on becoming a citizen. I've applied for mine last month and waiting for hopefully a positive outcome after living in the UK for 24 years since i was a child. Knowing that hopefully the only the country i know to be my home will also be the country i hold citizenship of is super nerve wrecking but seeing your ceremony already makes me feel super positively emotional that itll be me soon. Congratulations Linh, you deserve it, I've lived in Portugal for over 20 years and I'm only 25 years old, and I'm still not a citizen. 9 months ago I applied for my citizenship but I'm still waiting and it will probably take about 2 years total maybe a little longer. It was a mixture of bad luck, my father's irresponsibility and also injustice on the part of the Portuguese government, I've even been to the supreme court for minors and some involved even wanted to send me to my country of origin even though I didn't know the language or friends or anything because I've lived all my life here in Portugal. Despite everything I thank God for everything because these situations make us stronger and many times that's how we learn and grow.

Hello linh.. I watch your whole video.. I like to ask you.. You say it will be costly to apply eligible passport to remind in UK..what the fee are we looking at to proceed in applying for staying indefinitely leave.

Thank I've been requested to send further evidence including my b1 test i send them many times but after few day's keep receiving same email again from H O so what i did I'm just handle all my documents and my test certificate to a solicitor to check them and send them for me now I'm waiting for decision

So my question is how long have you waited after your biometric appointment to become a British citizen?
