Hi David.. I really enjoy your content and perspective on bicycles. Could you please answer this question.. or even do a video on it.. What is the most durable “bomb-proof”, “apocalypse survival” bicycle?? From frame to tires, wheels and components and ultimately ride ability throughout every possible terrain!! I believe this is a much needed and possibly very entertaining bit of info we’d appreciate!
I know sometimes it’s hard to get the bikes for the videos but if possible try get a look at Radon Vaillant 8.0, 9.0 or even 10.0. Race bike with ultegra di2, carbon everything except the wheels for 3500€ and it looks amazing. And their Vaillant 10.0 has Mavic Cosmic SL 45 Sram Force AXS. If you really wanna make a list of bike brands that offer good value they are really good.
The other Utah based brand Ari (formerly Fezzari) shafer is worth a look at this price point, more versatile but not axs at entry level though. Nice review as always
Well this version with apex is at 3k, not really that best value, Scott addict gravel with rival is selling at 3300, rose backroad ff, also with rival axs at 3500, Orbea terra around the same values.
Personally find my LBS priceless and would get a Propel most likely or another Warbird. All the integrated stuff to work on and proprietary stuff on bikes today puts me off direct to consumer
Got a 20% discount on my Scott Addict Gravel … much of the same geometry wise. But with mounts for mudgards 😊👍 and i swopped the 45mm tires for 38mm gravel king ss 😂
I bought my GS1 because it didnt have all the frame mounts. I wanted a high performance aero-ish gravel racing frame. Im not putting bags all over it. This is aimed at racers first.

Carbon Canyon Grizle Apex AXS is £2,350.
van rysel with sram apex etap for 2000
Not a gravel bike
@@bebopman5 The Riverside is a gravel bike. Full carbon, Rival AXS £2400 and all the mounting points you could ask for.

Can you review a superior bike x-road team issue?
I think it's good value but for a gravel bike, the geometry is so aggressive
Driving On the wrong side of the Road.. you Brits 😂
The price you mentioned is for the frame only. The bike it self is $5k+.
Nope, it's the complete bike
Hi David, just nice to see someone who loves riding his bike.
Hey, thanks
I'd say Lauf Siegla is better value, especially if you look at the rigid version.

I came very close to buying the Shafer. It gets great reviews.
Too many best gravel bikes in your channel man!
Thats a best VALUE man ;-)
Expensive when you start building it out
The weak point is the Apex, for 3000 you get higher level Group set for the money by other direct seller
$299 delivery wipes out any saving, bit of a pointless video for the UK market.
Good thing I’m a subscriber from Texas
First! 😊

you need to pay 4k for that bike with the rival axs option. Sram apex should be sould at 2k price point alluminium gravel bike or something like that
I dont understand the apex prices, the Rose Backroad with apex is 3300. Why?
@@matemolnar2315 nah, is at 3500 for rival axs, new model, race geometry, backroad ff
Canyon Grizl with Apex AXS is very competitive
Gravel is just a fad
do fads normally last more than 10 years?
@@davidarthur not sure maybe 12
Hi David, how do you compare Ventum GS1 and new Canyon Grail regarding comfort, stiffness and acceleration?
Personally find my LBS priceless and would get a Propel most likely or another Warbird. All the integrated stuff to work on and proprietary stuff on bikes today puts me off direct to consumer

Nice bike. If U want new and electric things....

Any review on obed gvr?
Fun fact: baby boars are called humbugs :)
No fender mounts? No thanks.
get a surley long haul trucker
😊
Would a Ventum NS1 or Ventum GS1 be a better purchase for biking long distances such as 50 or 80 miles?
on road or off-road?
@@davidarthur On road
@@parasoul7417 definitely the NS1 then!
Can you get the bike in the UK.?
Yup they deliver worldwide
Sonder Camino with Apex AXS for £1800. Frame is Aluminium but it actually has mudguards mounts
Who’s actually used a flip chip thingy?
