I was fortunate enough to pick up a Japanese CE-2 for 185AUD 10 months ago. It looked like someone bought it in 1983, put it in a drawer, opened the drawer in 2019 and said "I just might sell this thing." It was absolutely pristine.
I wanted a SUPER Phaser PH-2 so bad as a teenager, and one Christmas my parents got one for me, and I was stoked, cuz $100 was worth a lot in the late 90s! It didn't matter what style of music I was playing, I'd always try to sneak a little phaser into a few songs. Maybe just to accent a couple bars or as a wild momentary effect.
I don’t think they’ll make anymore new compact pedals unless they’re digital upgrade or Waza. I think I’ve 60 now. I have all the units in this video except the DF-2 Feedbacker. I lived in Oz in 1997 and I found a SG-1 Slow Gear in a Cash Converters store for 35Aus, £20 at the time and after trying to demo it I left it there as I thought it was useless! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!
I flew in late January and hit Sydney for 2 days and then on to Adelaide for 2 months, then Melbourne for 8 months and back to Adelaide for Christmas. That’s when I found the SG-1 at Port Adelaide!
I actually own a Touch Wah (TW-1) but not with the T-Wah logo(the logo is Touch Wah (TW-1) from March/79' with a stamped serial number and all. i never knew how rare or special it was now 20years later after "borrowing" it. FANTASTIC "Auto-Wah"
@@JasonAyalaSpare that's awesome. I actually work for Boss/Roland (more on the retail side tho). But if you ever wanna chat about gear, pleases let me know. I'll hit up your Instagram too if you've got any gear pics. I just got an HR-2 HARMONIST that I'm falling in love with.
Well since that video I've bought several of these pedals all for around or under the prices stated in the video. I'd imagine that over time they will become more expensive.

Loved that phaser jam.
Sounded rad.
Barracuda by Heart
In the Philippines, someone was selling a ph1-r for 206usd.
That's a lot. Try looking to buy from Japan.
i have to agree with boss pedals from the 80s value is going thru the roof.

Ouch!
Great vid! I love feedbacker pedals. I have the DOD Freqout. I love old Boss for nostalgia reasons but the distortions are a bit fizzy.
I totally agree, generally they have too much fizz. I proffer their modulation effects.
@@JasonAyalaSpare Yes, totally agree.
Enjoyed your video

It is a good pedal, I bought one about 6 months ago.
Walking on the Moon, nice 👌
love this! Great vid!
I'm about to drop a new video where I get 3 other channels to talk about their favorite boss pedals and how they use them.

@@sjpachica3 man I'll chat about gear all day! I've set myself the task of owning all of the Japan era boss pedals.
just scooped up a CE-3 and a BF-2 for $85 US each, both MIJ. Both highly underrated pedals in my opinion. They both sound amazing!
Good score!

The SD2 was made in Japan?

The early ones were, they were manufactured in Taiwan after that.
