Really great video. Not to far from where we live, use to be a roundhouse and a turn table. I really loved it, but one day they tore it all out. So sad. Thank you!
It has been a long while since seven engines were under steam at the same time plus one nearly ready to go were seen in North America. Thank you Jerry for the video of the occasion. Thanks also to the D&SRR crew for lining them up at the round house so we can appreciate the occasion. Shades of times gone by. I haven't seen such a scene since I was a boy living in Tracy, CA In the mid 1950's. Scenes like that occurred daily at the SP roundhouse. I have watched trains run as far back as I can remember. It resulted in me becoming a fireman for the Camino Cable and Northern in 1964. Many years later I was a fireman for the Northern Queen's narrow gauge railroad in Nevada City, CA and have been involved in restoring narrow gauge equipment for the NCNG RR Museum for over thirty years. Hopefully it will inspire some young railfans to want to work on and run steam locomotives.
Thanks for the kind words Herman. I am very blessed to be living in Durango (10 miles north of town right along the D&S ROW). Have become friends with the D&S staff and management and they have given me unprecedented access. So many have shared with me over the years, friends such as Dick Kindig, Richardson, Otto Perry that I am happy that now I can share. Hopefully can do it many more years.

Look at all of those relics from the past. They look so good!
Great video on the round house. I wish you could do more and longer. Never seen a video on the round house before. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍🌟🌟🌟💫

RARELY do you see a full roundhouse under steam in 2019. Amazing.
In 1992 The Cumbres and Toltec brought all 5 of their serviced steam engines ua-cam.com/video/UJZtE77EyRk/v-deo.html
Wow! This is awesome! I probably haven't seen 8 locomotives all in a row here before. This would probably be a great title for a song.
Great video. Great to to see a roundtable working like new.

when the real turntable sounds exactly like the battery operated HO scale turntable. 🙂
Raymond Leggs Is it possible that the sound from the H.O. Turntable was recorded here?Just a thought.

I hope 493 will be done soon.
I do not know when it will be done.
Jerry Day just hopping.
@@nathancorcoran5347 The D&S wants me to photograph the first run but I will probably only know the night before they do it
Jerry Day yeah.
Was every steam locomotive there operating for this except for the locomotive that's evening converted to oil that's number I forgot it was
I believe that one is 493, and yes, each locomotive had a fire in their belly and full head of steam.
So what's the status on 493?
I post that on my Facebook page.
