Thanks!! Haha, I just googled the Vehicross, what a cool and crazy looking vehicle. I think I appreciate the CTW more this year than last. At first I thought it felt over priced compared to other Subaru’s. But this year I’m just glad it exists in a world full of way to similar and bland vehicles. Thanks for watching again!!
Fun fact of the day: when you lock a Subaru with the door handle it gives you a few seconds to pull the handle to make sure it locks before you can unlock it again. I hope this makes sense. Give it a try sometime. Lock the car, wait a minute, then you can unlock the car again. I learned this from Tyson the Subaru Specialist.
After watching your review of the Wilderness Crosstrek I see it comes with the same equipment as my '24 Limited except for the body cladding. Am i missing something? You're right it's pricey. I find mine to be very responsive and fine to drive, among other virtues. Good review!
I appreciate you mentioning the thermal control valve. But since this is the most off-road capable version, I was disappointed you didn't include the approach, departure, and brakeover angles (or even the ground clearance) when you talked about the dimensions.
2 questions. First, with respect to the TCV apparently Subaru has changed the type they used from the 2024 and earlier which have shown to fail at some point, to their previous more reliable kind. It’s one reason I am considering getting the 2025 over the 2024. Apparently Subaru has extended the warranty on the TCV if it fails. 2nd, the 2025 in all trims is supposed to have an “improvement” in Apple CarPlay turn-by-turn integration according to their 2025 product catalogue on Page 2. Have you tried using this feature? And have you perhaps noticed any difference, if any, compared to the 2024 models? Also as an aside, according to the product catalogue (page 2) the two front headrests inside material has been changed in the 2025 Crosstrek Wilderness as there have complaints about how overly stiff/hard they are in the 2024 model CTW.
Oh, that’s news to me, but very cool if they’ve made the TCV even more reliable. I probably wouldn’t worry about it either way, I think Subaru would back it up if something happened within a reasonable time frame. I haven’t tried Android auto/ Apple CarPlay on the Crosstrek. But it works really well on our 2025 Forester! Thanks for watching.
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 I have contacted Subaru about the improved Apple CarPlay turn-by-turn integration and if the improvement is compatible with the 2024 CTW, and no one here at Subaru has been able to answer this question and they have now escalated the question to Subaru in Japan and I'm still waiting to hear back. Its been exactly 1 month and 1 day and still waiting to hear back.
*Imagine that with the 2.4L Turbo. Subaru markets these as off road get out there vehicles but if you load it down with gear and head to the mountains you will see that 2.5L struggle.*
I had a 24 CTW but I traded it for an Outback Onyx XT. I was getting my first service done and saw 0% APR on the Outback. Once I test drove the Outback there was no going back. No way,, no how!
I really wish Subaru would get rid of that ugly gold accent on the rooftop rack and the bumpers. I got a 2024 CTW in that really cool looking military green color…but that gold accent on the roof just really takes away from it. At some point in the next couple of months, I’m going to have those painted black, which will look a heck of a lot better. I just wish Subaru would give you the option right from the get go. And they really need to offer a turbo model option on the Crosstrek as well…and at some point a hybrid option would be great.
Great thorough review. I actually like the looks of it. Reminds me of the old Isuzu Vehicross from the 90s

Auto stop/start should default to off and you turn it on if you want it on, not the other way around 😂
It should, but it doesn’t lol. 🫠
it's some type of government emissions mandate. The nice thing is it's the first thing I do on start up on the home screen
Wow no wonder your wife left you
I likey. Another great vid. Thanks.😊
I’m glad you liked it! Thanks for continuing to watch my videos!! 😄

That does make sense! Thanks for pointing this out!! I just always took it as a slow responding system. 😅
@ you’re welcome. I also thought that, until I learned this and now I’m like oh that makes some sense.

You’re not missing much, the Limited is a sweet trim level!
Awesome car❤
I need a 6 speed manual…why is it not offered?

Thanks for watching and pointing those specs I missed out!

Considering a Subaru
No heated steerting wheel is criminal for the "Wilderness". Also needs memory seats, power liftgate. 🤦♂️🤷♂️🙄

Yes but unfortunately they will never do that. The crosstrek is supposed to be affordable
No power lift gate and no power passenger seat sucks. Trading our Crosstrek in when lease is up soon. Good car but want more. Thanks.
When they have a heated steering wheel, then I might consider it
In Canada it is standard in the CTW
Agreed! 2025 and still no heated steering wheel! It gets damn cold in Iowa in winter.
No TPMS in Canada. But I like the heated seats better . Lol
It’s not that big of a deal…ffs
I wish you could also use the fob to remote start a Subaru. Ford allows that so does Chevy…

This thing needs a manual
Amen to that!
