Very good presentation. Can you confir or make presentation for Proactive maintenance too. It is either generating notification or order. If we are generating order it is giving error that notification is in approval stage
Thanks man! Proactive Maintenance is in other words Preventive Maintenance. You start with an order, in most of the cases you plan it automatically via Maintenance Plans. If you receive an error about notification, it means your configuration is lacking of some settings. Start with checking if this order type is linked with a notification, if it creates a notification in the background. I don’t plan to publish new videos on this topic, I covered it roughly in this and other videos. Deep dive videos are part of the Ultimate EAM Course, which I created. Now my goal is to focus more on UI/UX topics and IAM Suite like Asset Performance Management, Business Network Collaboration, Service and Asset Manager and others. Hi Sir, i was configuring this model my system. In configure overall status-Conditions, ther is a cloumn named "Link" in which there is default value and not able to edit it. Default vale is "AND" but i want to use " OR" .How to do that?
We are using SAP EWM for material management and are not fixing each material to only one bin location (we assign fixed bins to each material but a material can be transferred between bins and therefore have stock in multiple bins). Can we still find a way to consume materials by clicking "Post" in the work order level for attached components? Maybe by assigning a preferred bin for consumption somehow?
Hey Julia, this functionality works only (currently) for IM (inventory management) only. It means we use Storage Locations, EWM is not considered here. Components in PM order are on Operation level, not work order, but I guess that’s what you meant. So yeah, currently EWM thing is out of the ‚Perform Maintenance Job‘ app. Sorry for bringing bad news. I am curious to see such option in the future! Cheers, Dan

Hey man, thanks a lot! Yeah, I got a license, that’s why I am able to show the newest things in S4HANA. There are already some guides on YT how to launch it at home, but I don’t think that u will have Fiori launchpad as well and so on. As a part of Learning Hub you got an online access to SAP demo system. As a second and better option I suggest just to hang around next to some Company who uses it, start as an intern, ask for an access and show them your willingness to work with this solution. The blog post where I described. the configuration of Phase maintenance as far as I know - does not have any duplicated pages, it is just time consuming as you have to repeat the same config for different objects, maybe this is what you meant. If you got at least S4HANA 2021, it means you are not assigned to proper Business Role. Reach out your Basis team for it. The app you can find in Fiori Library (Website) along with the standard role as well. Cheers and thanks for reaching out, good luck bro 👊

Hi Rene, thanks! In standard S/4HANA it’s impossible. There is something like Relationships, it’s something in direction called Variant Configuration. But your requirement won’t be covered by this thing. Before you consider any custom logics etc - check out SAP APM, which is in Cloud, you connect it with S4 or even non SAP systems. The goal is to optimize maintenance strategies, and such ‚recommendations‘ of activities (in SAP world called Task Lists) are at some point part of it. Might be a good thing to dig deeper, so yeah, check it out. Cheers man

Launch RSH Dashboard (‘Resource scheduling for Maintenance Planners’) 2. Find a tile called ‘Unassigned work‘ and click it. 3. You will have a list of operations,which are not assigned. In the selection criteria you can change the assignment status and display other Operations. 4. Select the operations which you want and click ‚Assign‘ 5. Select/find a person which should be assigned. Point 5 world only if you maintained PM Team in the app ‚Manage teams and responsibilities‘. Cheers, Dan
Gantt chart shows that, once you pick an employee, you see if she/he is already assigned to other work during this timeslot. If you cannot find it, means your S4 is lower than 2023 and you don’t have these functionalities yet.

Hi man, great to hear that! The phase maintenance is also reflected in the backend, you can monitor it via System Statuses of the maintenance order. But yeah, it's not like GUI will have all the capabilities of Fiori-based apps. The future of SAP is to move to web-based/native mobile apps. So I think GUI won't inherit those features from Fiori Apps. From my point of view, there is no point of implementing Phase Maintenance just for GUI, its power lies in the apps like Perform Maintenance Jobs etc.

But don't see any performance work center in the Teams and Responsibility apps. I would want to get the same view as what you have in the Perform Maintenance Jobs app, where I can also see the work linked to my team.
Hi Joke, yeah I do have RSH activated. Actually I linked all the People (Personnel numbers) via classic IR02 tcode, where u got this interface between PM HR. But yeah I know about the Fiori app which u mentioned, I will give it a try and see if I face such issues like you. If you do it like I did, should work as you see in the video. By the way, my new video about RSH will be live in 5 days, you will see the setup there as well. Hopefully, it will help you. Cheers 👋🏻
Creating a PM notification is not a big deal, you need max an hour to get it, its possibilities and so on. There are companies who offer an access to SAP training system, but yeah I wouldn’t use them. First of all the stuff which you see in this video covers new Maintenance Model - I am more than sure that most of these training systems don’t have it implemented, or they have but with gaps = so it’s useless. SAP gives you 30 Days access to their training systems if u have Learning Hub subscription active. But this is expensive for an individual Client. If you work in a company which uses SAP - ask them to provide you/buy for you such subscription. If you are a freshie who wants to start SAP journey - don’t get into it, don’t spend the money for it. You can just follow the free stuff on the internet, for instance like this video. It gives you a good, solid start of understanding the process. The details you will get once you start your Consulting journey. Beginning of next year there is some hot stuff coming from my side when it comes to SAP PM/EAM - it will meet your expectations and yeah, boost your career for sure. Take care man, cheers 👋🏻

Not sure if I can't find it, or if the page is still a work in progress I assume it is the latter? :) if so, i very much looking forward to seeing it! Be interesting to know for example if another notification type can be used. Moreover, I am trying to figure out how to set up my SAP user ID / personnel ID so that it works with the perform maintance jobs app. at the minute, I am a bit stuck on how to do this (tried the PA30 and PA40, assigned personnel ID to my sys-ID)
You are totally right, this is in progress. I will let you know once it's ready - or check out my linkedin page, I put the updates there as well. It all can be customized according to your needs, custom notifications etc. ain't problem for Phase Maintenance. You do not have to stick to Best Practices 4HH, 4HI (but it's the most convenient approach). For the Personnel ID some steps in a nutshell: 1. If each user is meant to have separate accounts - you need as many SAP accounts as personnel numbers. If you have a terminal, where one account is being used for all the 3 shifts throughout a day etc - you just need one user and define as many personnel numbers as you need. 2. Create user in PA30. It's not only about organizational assignment, personal data etc. Launch the infotype 0105 and subtype 0001 (Communication). You assign User ID there. 3. That's not the end - in S4HANA such Personnel number has its linkage with Business Partner as well. There is a program, which you just lunch via SA38 and it performs the sync with BP. 4. Then you should be fine - assign the Personnel Number to Work Center, so it will be easier for your Planners to choose people during planning, and you are ready to go. More details you will find on my blog, once the post is ready:) Stay tuned and yeah, have fun with the system:)

I have a question, How to activate Phase model for other Order types, i have selected the check-box in Order type for Phase activation and also assigned Status profile for new order types, is there any other config to bring the new order type for Phase maintenance. I want to select this order type in Maintenance Plan, and once orders are created, i want this order type to follow phase process. Please help. Thanks in advance.
Hi man, thanks for the kind words! There is more config for that than the checkbox in order type and the profile assignment. I described the steps in the Blog, just apply them to your Order type. If you are facing some specific problem, please describe it and I will do my best to help you. Phase maintenance model is not a 2 minutes config, that’s why I cannot give you the full answer without a specific context/issue. Have a good one, we are in touch 👋🏻

'Configuration for Order Types is pretty extensive, there are at least 10 Configuration points, which have to be set-up. Otherwise, the system will throw errors to the end-users during processing. The most vital one was mentioned above, the rest does not have Phase model-specific checkboxes etc., that’s why I do not display their details.'

Hi sir, I have a question that it is possible to run phase model in SAP GUI? it may use less steps/transaction codes than in fiori but some cases you know clients want to run in GUI rather than in fiori. if it's not possible to run in GUI, so should we use both classic model and phase model ? because if only using Phase, we must always go to Fiori. ?
Hi man, Phase Model is dedicated for Fiori. For example the phase ‘Screening’ is not supported by any GUI tcode. The idea is to get rid of GUI and execute the process via new, user friendly solutions based on Fiori. This is something we have to explain to our Clients, it’s time to move from old way of working to the new, better one. Cheers man
HI dude, i hope you can answer my questions here, thanks in advance 1. We are having licence to RSH and we used it very heavily aswell, now we got a requriment to use find maintenance for DSPT. So here when we unassign performing workcenter in RSH and view the same orders in Find maintenance order. As per standards we need to have DSPT option in find maintenance order. But we are not getting it
But if we create a new performing work centre and doing the same as above comment it is working But we unable to identify, what making us to stop dispatching from Find maintenance order
@@suryaprakash6109 Hey there! I had the same/or similar thing some time ago. My problem was, that I had RSH and wanted to use this Dispatching via 'Find Maintenance Order' app. But the button 'Dispatch operations' was blank/grey-ed out. Then I figured out, what was the root cause. In RSH, once you click your avatar there - you got these settings, where you select the work center, which is relevant for you as a maintenance planner. Just delete the assignment, and go back to 'Find Maintenance Order' Fiori App. Now it should work for you. Of course, you need all these prerequisites like Phase model configured for the order type etc. But I assume you already have this, as it works for other work centers in your case. Hope it helped you man!
If you do not see the option 'Dispatch' at all, even greyed-out, it could mean, the business functions and/or additional functions are not activated. You can find it in the customizing.
Hi Zagreus, thanks that you watched so carefully! Yeah, I skipped the order release part, but of course I had to do it for my order. Once I finished the 5th Phase - Preparation, I released my PM order with a Fiori App ‘Manage Maintenance Orders and Notifications’ and then I continued as you see on the video. Cheers man!
Thank you for replying. Was just wondering, can the release happen before preparation phase, effectively after approval? Because preparation phase is essentially monitoring and ensuring availability of materials as per basic dates before scheduling in RSH application (for scheduled dates). We do not actually do anything in this phase.
Hey man, yes it can happen, it’s not like we gotta stick to one scenario, if approval phase is not relevant for you, you can skip it (u got to configure it so), the same applies to the Order Release:)

Answering your question:

+ you can perform assignment also from the Gantt chart in RSH. Moreover, there you can assign multiple people to one operation!

Hi, thanks for the wonderful blog and video. I have completed a full scenario of Phase model using standard order types YA01 and YA02.
I have a question, How to activate Phase model for other Order types, i have selected the check-box in Order type for Phase activation and also assigned Status profile for new order types, is there any other config to bring the new order type for Phase maintenance. I want to select this order type in Maintenance Plan, and once orders are created, i want this order type to follow phase process. Please help. Thanks in advance.
Hi man, thanks for the kind words! There is more config for that than the checkbox in order type and the profile assignment. I described the steps in the Blog, just apply them to your Order type.
If you are facing some specific problem, please describe it and I will do my best to help you. Phase maintenance model is not a 2 minutes config, that’s why I cannot give you the full answer without a specific context/issue. Have a good one, we are in touch 👋🏻

'Configuration for Order Types is pretty extensive, there are at least 10 Configuration points, which have to be set-up. Otherwise, the system will throw errors to the end-users during processing. The most vital one was mentioned above, the rest does not have Phase model-specific checkboxes etc., that’s why I do not display their details.'
@@manoranjanpugalenthi1299 Oh I see, yes that's right. When it comes to Order types configuration, there is nothing more than this checkbox. The other '10' configuration points are just normal steps, which you do for every order type. That's why I didn't mention them in the blog. I hope you get it! Cheers bro

Of course it is, but I wouldn’t activate it directly in PM02, keep it clean as it is, make a copy like ZPM2, activate the Phase Model and use it.
Hi sir, I have a question that it is possible to run phase model in SAP GUI? it may use less steps/transaction codes than in fiori but some cases you know clients want to run in GUI rather than in fiori. if it's not possible to run in GUI, so should we use both classic model and phase model ? because if only using Phase, we must always go to Fiori. ?
Hi man, Phase Model is dedicated for Fiori. For example the phase ‘Screening’ is not supported by any GUI tcode. The idea is to get rid of GUI and execute the process via new, user friendly solutions based on Fiori. This is something we have to explain to our Clients, it’s time to move from old way of working to the new, better one. Cheers man

1. We are having licence to RSH and we used it very heavily aswell, now we got a requriment to use find maintenance for DSPT.
So here when we unassign performing workcenter in RSH and view the same orders in Find maintenance order. As per standards we need to have DSPT option in find maintenance order. But we are not getting it
But if we create a new performing work centre and doing the same as above comment it is working
But we unable to identify, what making us to stop dispatching from Find maintenance order

I had the same/or similar thing some time ago.
My problem was, that I had RSH and wanted to use this Dispatching via 'Find Maintenance Order' app. But the button 'Dispatch operations' was blank/grey-ed out.
Then I figured out, what was the root cause.
In RSH, once you click your avatar there - you got these settings, where you select the work center, which is relevant for you as a maintenance planner.
Just delete the assignment, and go back to 'Find Maintenance Order' Fiori App. Now it should work for you.
Of course, you need all these prerequisites like Phase model configured for the order type etc. But I assume you already have this, as it works for other work centers in your case.

If you do not see the option 'Dispatch' at all, even greyed-out, it could mean, the business functions and/or additional functions are not activated. You can find it in the customizing.

Hi Zagreus, thanks that you watched so carefully! Yeah, I skipped the order release part, but of course I had to do it for my order.
Once I finished the 5th Phase - Preparation, I released my PM order with a Fiori App ‘Manage Maintenance Orders and Notifications’ and then I continued as you see on the video. Cheers man!
Thank you for replying. Was just wondering, can the release happen before preparation phase, effectively after approval? Because preparation phase is essentially monitoring and ensuring availability of materials as per basic dates before scheduling in RSH application (for scheduled dates). We do not actually do anything in this phase.
Hey man, yes it can happen, it’s not like we gotta stick to one scenario, if approval phase is not relevant for you, you can skip it (u got to configure it so), the same applies to the Order Release:)
