- Jamie Archer, known as Jamie Afro (born 26 July 1975) is an English singer. He participated in Series 6 of The X Factor UK as part of the Over 25s category mentored by Simon Cowell.
His audition of Sex on fire by the Kings of Lyon had the crowd on their feet and singing along as if the real band were performing.
A true showman who wowed the audience each week was eventually controversially eliminated from the competition in Week 6, finishing in 7th place after losing the sing-off to Lloyd Daniels.

Jamie got to choose his own audition song. Thereafter, I believe it's the show's producers who pick the songs, and they chose pretty badly, I'd say. Nonetheless, "Sex on Fire" proves Jamie Archer to be an outstanding rocker!
His only truly great one. It's not like he's bad in the others - just not as great.

I loved the way he sang the Christina Aguilera song, because it shows his versatility and I thought his version sounded better than the original!

This guy is charismatic. He has rock music all the way down to his toes and I love his upbeat presence. Smiling all the way and enjoying making the crowd go crazy. Don't know why he hasn't made his mark in the business. He is special and I kept looking for him not knowing his name. I searched the song and found him. Oh happy day. I have extremely wide tastes in music and rock is just one facet. He fills the bill. Love love love him and I'm a great grandma. I wish him every success/

I thought the exact same thing... like he said he wanted to perform to a much bigger crowd. Win or lose, he was just having fun doing what he loves and crossing off bucket list. I came looking for him after seeing a clip of his audition on IG. You can tell he just loves it up there 🙌🏾🔥🔥
He was already a star when he came on Xfactor. Simon knew it after his first performance. He has amazing stage presence, he's engaging and he looks really good.

Boy...he's ready for his own concert...I loved him singing Roy Orbison's CRYING!!! Some of these song choices I didn't like but he's a real performer no matter what he sings!!! Did he win the competition that year...I never heard it mentioned here...

He's a performer and a very good one at that. He might not have the best vocals but he reaches the crowd and gets them going. He knows what he's doing and he's great at it

No, he IS a good singer: any doubt and you can compare his Kings of Leon performance of "Sex is on Fire" to theirs. He's almost exact and close enough that he could stand in.
Simon’s crush on this artist is the reason he has the job he has. Charisma, presence and authenticity make his voice perfect. It wouldn’t work with a more polished voice.
Anyone who can capture an audience in this manner is a great star. That’s why Simon sings along…! Star quality 👍
I think I have watched his first performance, at least 20 times now, he's in my top 3 performers from X-Factor. I absolutely love his stage presence.❤✌🇺🇸

Two things about this moment: 1) his mate in the hat absolutely drinking in his mate’s moment. I love that. 2) His ability to draw the crowd in, with admittedly subpar vocals. The crowd singing moment was perfection.

Christina's song? It was nice but I feel he didn't really let himself free on it. I know he has more to bring to it but the weird strict expectations of the judges made him try to regulate himself. He needs to let LOOSE!
Many awesome entertainers aren’t the best vocalists….but they can make their audiences FEEL.
Jamie is fantastic. He is a great singer, but most of all he is a great showman. He really knows how to present himself and interact with the crowd. He can't help its what he is. It's what he was born for. He is made of music and nothing in life can ever change that. Damn great performer. FYI, my personal favorite is his first audition.

I remember his first performance and I just fell in love with him!! A great voice, great looks, great spirit, all together just awesome great hardcore and a real musician!!! ❤️ At that performance I think everyone saw that he’s the real deal, his eyes sparkled with life and a superstar was born in my eyes! I believe Jamie is a stage beast, he comes alive on the stage, that's is turf, this is what he knows:all that he knows! He needs this rapport with the audience as one needs air to breathe.
