as a civil engineer, I highly recommend this video. awesome. It not only covers the basics but also covers analysis techniques in all simple and complex steps. Great! 10/10. Highly recommended video to the students.
Hi. This frame is considered to be unstable. It does't make sense to solve an example of unstable structure. You have two options, either remove the internal hinge or, replace the roller support with a hinge support. Anyway thank you.
Kamal Alogla that's exactly what i thought when i see there is a hinged beam but the frame used hinge and roller.. since that would be no horizontal force to hold the horizontal loads on the right beam 😂
@@BY-sh6gt Yes this frame is unstable with a negative degree of static indeterminacy however it is completely solvable and any structural software will give you results in concurrence with the answers shown here.
while calculating moment at point B , If we use clockwise moment and anticlockwise moment concept than the answer comes out to be positive 240KN. Do we have to change the sign of moment at point B ?
hi , In the second part of the frame for AXIAL FORCE DIAGRAM why you didn't use the parallel force "31.8" and just used 15.9 and 47.7 just connected between them ?
you can actually find out the reaction by resolving the udl on the inclined force but it'll be pretty lengthy process and the end results are anyway the same.
@@TanveshDabholkar S sir a watching ur video again and again my mistake is got me and the answer gets as same as u solved ...so thank you for the video and also.....you sir solved my problem thank u vry much.....
Isn't this frame Unstable? Ext Indeterminacy = Reaction (3) - 3 = 0 Int Indeterminacy = 3 times 0 closed loops = 0 releasable forces = 2 -1 (at internal hinge) = 1 Degree of static indeterminacy = 0+0-1=-1 Unstable. We can even figure it out by looking at the structure. what if hinge c bends towards right under loading? Please explain.
Anjul Chauhan yes it is an unstable frame however that was not the matter of concern here, we just had to plot the the reaction diagrams. It is a typical university question.
Nice initiative. Continue to spread knowledge to people who cant afford to get admission in private colleges, but are still very intelligent and creative.
Datta Dhanawade yes why not, there is nothing mentioned in such exams that you have to write only in capital letters, however most of such exams are now objective based.
That is not the way to remember sign convention, dont ever remember this way that if a value is positive then it should be right. See before you even get the value you assume the directions of reactions left or right ok, then if you get the value of that reaction to be positive it means that your assumed direction was correct. I hope this answers the question.
Also the rightwards and upwards direction positive sign convention should only be limited till writing the equilibrium equation, afterwards whatever value you get if its positive then your assumed reaction direction was correct other wise it you will have to change it.

I got exam in 2 hours
And this video was really helpful
Thanks alot
I like the example as it shows a lot of different situations with frames! Very informative video with a lot of good explanations! Thanks for this!
this guy save me in my online classes
All your structural analysis U tube videos are excellent in terms of content, analysis and presentation. Keep up the good work and thank you !
bhai ye 7:40 wale concept k liye shukriya.. khi smjha hi ni rha tha koi ye baat... 👍👍👌
mera sba exam he or ap ka lec kaafi acha he thanks

Thank you so much, for this tutorial!
wonderful lecture!
Thank you sir your contents are awesome.
You save me bro
I got a brief solution to my theory of structure 2
Please clarify.... the distributed load is on length Bc which is not 4m as your are saying.... Otherwise the video is superb
Ofcourse its not 4m, it is on the inclined member length.
You are the best
Udl ko kaha calculate kiye
Pl show the sfd , BMD , afd for entire frame...also deflected shape..thank you

You are awesome thanks a lot
please show the SFD BMD AFD for the entire frame
Why we take length of inclined member 4m when we found out the reaction and after that 4.717 M......since actual length is 4.717 m
you can actually find out the reaction by resolving the udl on the inclined force but it'll be pretty lengthy process and the end results are anyway the same.
Sir I don't get 30sin45°...value plz reply me and solve my problem
at which point are you not understanding, pls mention the time in video
Time 22.11 ...the 30sin45 is radian ge 25.45kn and 30cos45 is get 15.9 in ur video put in reverse y I don't know sir....
@@manjunathmtadakod8747 but how did you get 45 degree as the angle? There is no 45 degree angle in entire sum, the angle theta is 32.0054 degrees.
