Finally, a dubstep playlist I was looking for 😂 anytime I look up "dubstep," I just get results for EDM remixes of popular songs -- which still hit, but wasn't scratching that itch I was looking for
Now this is the dubstep i remember loving back in the day. The new stuff now is good too (for sake of argument) but it just doesnt have quite this sound which is too bad

This is true dubstep to me and it aged way better than the midrange brostep aggressive stuff, I wish they changed the genre name to not confuse most and keep the good stuff isolated from the American and Canadian waves that warped the original dubstep concept and took off with the dubstep label making it a stigma to most today.
this is how dubstep should be today. theres still good old school deep and dark sound out there lurking in the underground but its still a little different than stuff made 15 years ago

This is the EXACT same speed as modern Dubstep, and just because it's modern doesn't make it not Dubstep. Excision DOES make Dubstep, but he's mostly Brostep. BTW not all EDM is trying to be Dubstep.

Back when Dubstep was an actual subgenre of Dub, and not an electro derivative like it is today.
As a hip hop head, this is how I feel about a lot of newer rap music lol
dubstep was actuallly derived from garage, but yes it sounds like dub: dark and s l o w , and lots of ambient effects, and complicated rythm
