I relate to having a deep fear of death after leaving the church. The possibility of this life being “it”, being permanently separated from my husband after our eventual passing, and feeling so insignificant without a Father in Heaven who has a “plan” for me… it sucks. It’s thoughts like these that make me desperately wish the church were true :/

It still is true so better to live what you believe, what you hope and desire. What have you got to lose?

My Mom is not even Mormon. Yet when she lived in Thailand she would take the Elders and Sisters out for lunch once per week. It was a way of connecting with me when I was living far away.

i’m ex mormon but i’m also a medium (i know a lot of people don’t believe in that but i am) i’ve been this way my whole life and have daily encounters with people who have passed. it’s been hard for me to navigate because there is an after life and it’s so happy but i know it’s not what the church has taught me my whole life so it was hard when i left to navigate. with that being said every person has only told me good things and i could go into depth a lot more but that’s the only thing that brings me calm because i too have a fear of death

I have massive fear of death. Just turned 40... Looking at less time ahead than behind, really FEELING lost time. Thank you for sharing this. Is the book good? I might want to read it.

Fear of death is natural, in fact, it's what has allowed us to survive for so long as a species. I actually think having a healthy fear of death is good, it makes every moment in our lives seem more consequential.
My grandma is 78, and it makes me sad that she doesn't take good care of her health because she insists that she "can't wait to see Jesus". So it's not a great thing to be comfortable with death either.

    Offering Alcohol tip:
There are a lot of people that are trying alcohol for the first time. I have found that because I like soft drinks like; J20 orange and passion fruit, Elderflower etc, I like drinks that are more sweet and fresh, like a Pink Gin.
I think a Pink Gin is a really lovely way to start, and you could ask them to put some lemonade in it too so it’s not as hard hitting.
I also wanted to give advice on the setting, as the setting really mattered to me.
I was with a woman who attended church with her husband but was mentally out and she drank alcohol at home etc, I knew her well, and the pub was right near my home. It meant that I was at someone where I knew, with someone I knew and near my home.
This allowed me to feel safe and comfortable drinking.
The first time you try alcohol you will NOT get drunk, if you eat food with it. I’d recommend getting pasta etc if you’re trying alcohol for the first time. Food helps you not get drunk ❤
I’ve been out of the church around 2 years and only tried around 4 drinks. The only one I liked was a pink gin and pimms 🤣❤️ xx
