Yes you can use Air pumps but you will need air diffusers and baffles to make current in water. Besides, venturi may serve several purposes like water circulation, water transfer at the same tine producing oxygen. There are many efficient venturi designs which creates smaller bubbles.

This is Venturi areators so no air pump is used . Only water pump is used for areation

You can use a net to avoid shrimp sucking

@@prafuldate2881 it may require bigger and powerful pump to produce oxygen in deeper tanks and probably bigger diameter air suction lines.
