You are correct, they are very similar. Typically it is only a minor difference. That is that a Captain pattern may have a slightler higher formality drive - specificially they will have the 'corporate hook' (cool name ay!), but what this means is a Captain may get into the details, rules and structure on things more than a Maverick. Mavericks also have a slightly higher risk tolerance (maximum risk taker). A Captain, whilst very open to risk, may slow down before leaping into risk - but still jump into it.
Great job on these videos- highly enjoyed this series! I usually test as The Maverick, and also relate to the Persuader. What would you say the major differences are between the two, and the visionary? Definitly sensing some crossover.
Hi John, Think of it as Mavericks and Persuaders living in suburbs next to each other. Lots in common, but some very slight differences. Persuaders has usually a higher extraversion drive than dominance and usually slightly more formality than a Maverick. "Visionary" isn't a PI profile however if you are referring to EOS 'Visionary' versus 'Integrator', we would typically see Mavericks and Persuaders be in the Visionary category in their business. Lots of big ideas and confidence to take on more risk. I hope that is helpful. You can always contact us directly if you have any follow up questions.
You may need to look for roles which have you starting something new, or taking new ideas to markets. We also see Mavericks do very well in sales, particularly new business development. Also lots of Mavericks we see, may have started their own business at some point in their career as they have a high degree of openness to risk (willing to try new things). Good luck in the job search.
@@redwolfgroup So cool to see this ! This was me exactly (just took my PI assessment). Consulting, Sales, Business Development, Internal Strategy (particularly in Technical areas) are my bread and butter. Built and sold a web platform, had previously been a creative professional (musician/songwriter). I've had quite the career!
Hi Stella, Mavericks and Individualist have some commonality, specifically a high dominance drive showing a need for independence, control and very self driven. They both also have a lower formality drive indicating the need flexibility and like to be casual around the rules. Potentially your B and C factors in your profile have moved slightly causing the reference profile to change, but I imagine if we looked at your graphs, there would be be more insights to be gained. You are always welcome to contact our team on info@redwolfgroup.com.au and we can talk through your results. Alicia
Enlightening video - thanks! How much overlap is there between Mavericks and Captains? Watching both videos, it seems there's quite a bit.
