Now that I'm older, it feels like being stereotypically Black was more of an act, than being on an interview or around Police.

This performance from Chris would not feel believable, not authentic, or funny to me. I feel the same about Charlie Murphy being funnier than Eddie; he was the more raw one, in my opinion.

As a white half Spanish and half Irish guy from London and Manchester as I lived in both those cities in some of the poorer government housing blocks (council estates) only thing I can relate that too is a Class-o-meter, because to get ahead in some of the circles I now run in, the slag and working class accent when your around certain people and certain more affluent neighbourhoods in London, you dial the working class down to about a 3. And I spent 7 years of my childhood in Manchester, and the accent there is extremely strong and the posh upper class people in London can just subconsciously treat you as though you are some kind of working class soccer hooligan peasant!

@cfoster6804 100% correct. It was a joke, and it's a pretty decent one at that (delivery was top notch). However, there is messaging in humor and I question the validity of this message.

A black man goes through a lot in this visual world that we live in. Makes sense that they set the level to 5 as they get older. Youth and middle age in our society sucks a lot of energy out of them. Good on them to relax after getting old and stay balanced. If humans were blind, we would treat everyone the same.
