This is my favourite track off Slow Roll. My parents introduced me to that record when I was 12 or 13, playing it endlessly in the car while on our annual camping trip along the east coast of Australia. Now I'm 36, still listening and even more appreciative of these musicians. I'm also a brand new dad. This will absolutely be part of my daughter's musical education, just as my parents did for me. Thank you Steve and Chris.
Wow, thank you mate! Your folks must have bought one of the 300 cassettes of Slow Roll which we had made up when we visited Australia in 1995. Last year Acoustic Music Records released a retrospective compilation of our work together, Damn Good Run (AMR 319.1603.2), still sounds good today :-)
Man, these two I'll never hear enough of. Hobby blues harp player myself, Steve's going place I'm not even dreaming of :o) Simply awesome. Chris completely floored me first time I heard and met him in Hannover a long time ago and made sure I saw him perform as often as I could (quite a lot). All around good guy.
Amazing guitarist there. The Hermonica strikes me as amazing aswell. I realy found it for the guitar. Hes just so good. Hes playing and in the MIDDLE of playing he pushes his glasses up. Thats awesome talent.
I saw you guys live on stage in The Netherlands (Wychen Bluesfestival). I don’t know the year. You blew me away with your performance. I bought the CD “Slow Roll” that day in a stand. Still one of my favorites. A few years ago I read CJ died. I am sorry to hear that. Hope you are allright. Greetings from The Netherlands.
Yeah, Chris left us in 2005. A sad loss. You must have seen us in the mid to late 1990s, after Slow Roll we went on to make 3 further albums together and Acoustic Music records just released a "Best Of" compilation entitled Damn Good Run (AMR 319.1603)
Steve Baker Harmonica may I ask a question about harmonica. I love the song St. James Infirmary from Slow Roll. In what key is your harmonica? The song is in Dminor. I wonder what key you used. I love it. So good.
Brilliant all this. Saw Chris a few times with Kieran Halpin over here in the UK. Got him once solp and I did the sound. He could've just ignored me, but no !! He sat and chewed the fat all night with his Guinness and Fags. Brilliant to see the trade mark neck bend !! I've played over 40 years but I'm not good enough to tune one of his Lakewoods. I was and still am totally awestruck by his talent. He made it look so easy. His CD's are great and he was a superb singer......Sadly Missed RIP.
Alan Murray saw him with kieran too when i supported them in 90s. Playing with kieran next week trying to do my best to emulate chris. He was a massive inspiration to me when i started. Luckily i got to tell him that last time i saw him. Lovely guy
Hey Steve....Darren [sp.?] from Edgewood, Md. turned me on to you guys and, after hearing about your late night/early morning jams in Darrens bar I just had to check you out. Damn that Chris was a great guitarist. Only the good die young. Being on top of the local music scene I don't know how I missed you guys. You can really blow that harp man...as good as the man on your shirt in this vid. Thanks for posting.

It works a little better Not that I can play it like Chris but I give it hell. Like Chris told me, "Make every song YOURS" I even take liberties with Chris' songs bacause, well... Who can copy him???
