I think people have a miss perception on how to bowhunt in Africa. Hunting from a blind is the most ideal way of making sure you’ll get a perfect shot and reduce the possibility of a miss or wounding the animal. Walk-and-stalk are only possible to those who know how and definitely a necessity for those not comfortable taking long shots.
I agree with many of the comments below. It would be cheaper though, if you shipped the animal to your house and tied it up to a tree in the back yard and then shoot it from inside your bathroom window.
Well according to many anti-hunters (who ironicly eat meat) they regularly use an argument when an animal was hunted with a rifle at 300 meters and having to stalk it up to 8 hours and such is easy (pfffshhsh) so they like to say "at least if the animal was hunted with a bow for a challenge-", (classic example of the lady who got slandered for hunting a black giraffe) but this is how bow hunting in Africa works. You wait for them to come to you, so you usually wait at their waterholes like lions do when hunting, where you then take a close range shot, since you cannot shoot at 100-300 meters with a bow. My dad tried it once and hated it, so he never went bow hunting again, because he's used to stalking. Waiting in a hide all day for an animal to come to him must've driven him mad. Hunting with a bow at close range ensures a humane kill's possiblity to be at it's highest, so even so, hunters want to ensure their animals die quickly or better instantly, in order to ensure the animal doesn't go under great stress when wounded.
Makes me happy to see all you guys on the hunt.
Good job treating all the boys to the hunt

Where is the challenge in hunting over bait and/or water.
Why don't you ask that of other predators that do the same?
