As someone who answered 12, this is truly clever. If the riddle was easier, ppl would assume there’s some trick and read super carefully, so they would realize that dead fish count. But by making it hard, you lowered my guard.
I looked this over in my head. Here's what I came up with: Fountain 1: 5 - 40% (2) = 3 Fountain 2: (3x3 = 9) - 6 = 3 Fountain 3: (5x3 = 15) - (6/2 = 3) = 12 Nobody removed any of the dead fish, though: there are still 15.

Haha! I got it! I read the top comment by accident, and then decided to listen to the riddle carefully, which made me get the correct answer!
