If you haven't heard it, ginger is the best way to resolve motion sickness. You can get ginger pills. Ginger snap cookies and ginger ale work too. We had sailboats for 25+ years and lived aboard for a couple years. We always carried ginger snaps and ginger ale for seasick guests.
Love your Channel!! Lol my husband runs a School Bus Company! We both have a UA-cam Channel together driving across Ontario buying Preloved Jewelry with our Pup ScubaDude. Filming along the way. Day trips in one of our Mustangs. We haven’t done it in a bus yet. But definitely thinking about it! Anyway I have Asthma and because of that and allergies These dogs don’t effect us at all. He is also the best car dog ever lol. Just thought we would say hi and we love watching you!! Fabulous conversion!!💗💗💗
WHAT?? A woman that would rather be smart with money and not waste it on a lavish wedding that you will both be too busy to actually enjoy? Reminds me of the santa and M&Ms commercial where they both say "They do exist" lol Makes so much more sense to get married for as little as possible and use that money to actually start your life together. Such a down to earth approach is a great find and Jimmy is a lucky man. Even if she is super scary. haha
Congratulations guys! We have a similar story. Just finished our 9 month conversion and started full time bus life. We are from Southern Maryland, currently in Cave City, Kentucky outside of Mammoth Cave National Park. Definitely do the Vermont tags if you need to, they are so easy it just takes some time to get them back. We hope to see you at Skooliepalooza, we will be there!
Oh awesome! It’s nice to know that other people have gone the Vermont route too. We’ve seen your build on IG and it’s really gorgeous 😍Hopefully we’ll see y’all at Skooliepalooza!
41 years married, when you budget your money it never goes right, also I DIY my home and I am picking what went wrong, hubby says I'm too picky. go with the flow
I know this video is a couple weeks old, but I think you guys have probably used many different products in your build and several of those companies probably have affiliate programs that you could link to for additional income, as well as help people who are currently doing their own builds. Just a suggestion. Sorry for the paragraph long sentence. 🙄
No wonder you’re so cool. I’m from SC too. Right outside of Columbia. I teach HS English and hope to travel with my husband like you guys when our youngest goes off to Clemson.
Oh really cool! 😄 Jimmy and I actually both graduated from Clemson! (And is where we started dating!) I hope they like it there and hope the travel works out! ❤️
If you come through St. Louis and need any help with machinal stuff or if you need a recommendation of camping locations let me know. My wife and I take our Skoolie camping when ever we can. We are still working on it but it is mostly done. Keep the positive attitude
Just a suggestion or destination thought plan....look into Dawson City and the Dempster Highway which gets you to the Arctic Ocean, a very rare thing for the regular folks...Bannf is very nice but also very expensive, and very touristy....almost fake, a bit like a wild Disney Land style village. IF you were to think about further north, look at the Cassier Highway (highway #37 I believe) it goes right up the middle of two mountain ranges into the North West Territories, then turn west into the Yukon to Dawson City, then further north to Tutiuktuk NWT. Along the Dempster Highway.....It's magical as you go further north as the terrain changes. I've done it 3 times on a motorcycle in a tent...lol. As you drive north on #37 you will see more wildlife than you can count. Also the best time to go is to be in Dawson City for the summer solstice June 21 weekend I think it is. The sun never sets. Just a suggestion seeing as you mentioned Bannf....happy adventuring.
The best advice we could give is: Don't assume that the first shop you find is your only option. We made that mistake in our hometown, and really regretted it. It's worth it to call 10 places if that's what it takes to find a good shop. The best indcatiors we've found that a mechanic shop is good is if they're (1) willing to listen and understand the problem and (2) they're upfront about giving a price estimate. Of course, it helps to do research on the problem beforehand to avoid being taken advantage of. We've found some seriously amazing shops on the road, so good mechanics are definitely out there! 😄
A good mechanic? Good question. If I was traveling and needed help, a Google review would be my first choice followed by a visit to local auto parts store and ask. Also if I was driving a common brand and a dealership was available then I would consider that. With Thomas bus that is problematic. Since you are driving a school bus, somebody maintains school buses in every county. Try calling the school maintenance facility and talk to the senior mechanic. He probably can recommend someone he knows. Local facilities that repair diesel trucks might know someone. It seems you had good luck in Asheville, how did that come about?
Thanks! 😄 Yeah, we've heard similar things... We might end up not doing it again next year, but I am excited to see what the buzz is about at least once. We're just trying to view it as a very long, intense "summer camp" experience. Haha 😂
Thank you! And no, we aren't planning on adding AC since it would draw quite a bit of power. Instead, our plan is to chase the good weather! We'll see how that goes come next summer... 😅
You can get a poodle. I know people that have asthma that have poodles and they have no problems. They do not shed. There are other dogs that don’t shed also. Good luck on your travels.
Might be worth mentioning that Poodles tend to be "highly Strung" and have a tendancy to frett a lot or otherwise get nervous over many things. We used to have one and as nice as she wise, she was incredibly highly strung in later years which made things difficult at times. I Suggest you look at some non shedding breeds that are not highly strung, as they will probably adapt to bus life easier and wont be so hard to keep happy. Ie look for a lazy Breed. As the saying goes, a Dumb Mutt is a Happy mutt, and a Very Intelligent Mutt is never satisfied (i know because we have a Tibettian Spaniel that is super smart, and shes so high maintenance as a result).

real talk, a seatbelt in that seat, you better have that mattress bolted down. A mattress going 60mph into the back of your head means literal decapitation, and not the fun kind
My wife and I knew each other in high school although never were close, she was a year behind. I finished my freshman year in college and we dated once and the spark lit. We married when I finished college and celebrated 61 years of life together in June 2021. I am telling you this because I think the two of you are so good together because you REALLY know each other. Wishing you 100 years of happiness together.
Imagine how many wedding gifts you’ll receive from your subscribers. Any plan for merchandise for sale? Beside T-shirts. Some companies will do it all, design, manufacturing, shipping etc..
Unless you just want an expensive wedding I highly suggest getting a job and using your savings for a fantastic honeymoon trip. My first marriage was expensive only lasted a year. My 2nd marriage was justice of the peace and we just celebrated our 40Th. anniversary.
I appreciate the respect you intentionally show to each other. I also appreciate that you do not try to make the whole 'presentation', any kind of drama, or false 'cheery'. (Best way I can explain that right now.) While at the same time, staying positive in rough situations. Subscribed.
I agree. This is one of the BEST videos because they don't come off as putting on a "show" and they are so down to earth & practical. Wishing them the best of luck and looking forward to watching them.
I just stumbled onto your feed and have to say you two are absolutely captivating! Your eyes are wide open and full of enthusiasm for whatever this buss life might bring. God Bless!
With your qualifications, have you looked for an online job? it would give you independence plus giving you a nice safety net. Thank you for the QA, it's nice getting some background info. Stay safe ...
We really thought about going that route, but for now, we wanted to focus on travel full-time without the added responsibility of a full or even part time job. We thought the seasonal Amazon work was a good compromise since even though it’s full-time, it is for only a few months out of the year. We’ll see how we feel after we complete the program though… 😅
Banff is an excellent goal and destination (1 of my favorite) if you are that far going a bit further and seeing the Columbia glacier, water falls geography on way to Jasper is not to miss either. But it maybe to far for you.
I'm Canadain and my most favourite place in Canmore Alberta, it's about a 15-minute drive to Banff. I would recommend you not staying in the park cuz that gets really expensive, but hang out in Canmore you won't be disappointed!! We retire in just over a year and we plan on camping around Canmore for a good chunk of time before we move back to BC from Manitoba. Looking forward to following you in your adventures. :)
Banff is wonderful! If you get the chance, head north from there and go to Jasper National Park - it's a lot less crowded/commercialized and honestly, I enjoyed Jasper more!
Funny I just watched your latest video, (which is my 1st time seeing your channel) and then just finished this one, & I'm laughing bc you are planning your next build & selling the bus which is opposite of what you are saying in this video.😂 I'm excited to do a marathon of your channel to see what took you from "we plan on staying in the bus long-term." To... "We are selling the bus, renting an apartment, & buying a Van to build out!" You should definitely re-watch this video.☺️ I love your spontaneity!! You are an inspiration! ✌️🙏💖
I'm very curious how your Amazon work went. Have not heard good things about it. You can do park host jobs. Or service jobs around the Grand Canyon- tourist shops, restaurant work. There's the beet harvest in some northern states. Lots of possibilities. Try & get some sponsors for gear. For a favorable review of their products on your channel they will give you free merch. You can do remote work with the degrees you have. The sky's the limit for you. Stay safe. Actually have a plan in place in case you have uninvited' guests' in the middle of the night. Infrequent but it does happen. Would also like to know how you made those pull up shades Natalie. So cool. Happy Trails 💥
Alabama. I told them that I was converting this bus to an rv and they processed it with "RV" as the vehicle type. $144. Waiting for the RV title in the mail 😄👍 Next, getting pictures for Allstate to get this thing insured.
Yay! I made it to the most recent video. It makes me sad because you have been in my life non stop for a couple weeks. I'm gonna miss seeing you every morning. I'm so happy for you guys. You are 2 very hard working young people. It does my heart good to see that. Your parents must be very proud of all your accomplishments. Travel safe from sea to shining sea. God Bless you both
Thanks so much for following along with our journey! That really does mean a lot to us 😄You and everyone else here has been so supportive it’s given us so much motivation during the build. We’re looking forward to putting out more travel videos and we hope you enjoy those as well!! ❤️❤️
Wow you guys are fun to watch, in my younger days I just hopped in my car and headed somewhere, knowing I could get a job, so not to worried about things. Banff is a beautiful place, Wyoming and Montana 2 of my favorites. Something to think about, getting a job at one of the resort areas in the Tetons, Yellowstone. I did that for a couple of years, a great way to get paid and see the area on days off. Peace.
If you are planning on coming to Alberta Canada to go to Banff, go just a few hours north and see Jasper as well, it is less touristy than Banff. All of Western Canada is amazing.
My wife and I have been married for 34 years now. We started off just like you two ( minus a bus) , but we lived in a camper for a while. We married at a courthouse by a Justice of the peace. It's been a beautiful journey. Love your channel .
We just had our 30th Anniversary on Oct 12. If I was to do it again, (which I don't plan on, lol we are very happy) I would elope. I never wanted a wedding but felt like I "had to" for the family. I'm glad you've had a "beautiful journey" I wish you many more. :)
we will be married 50 yrs on Oct 30th, and yes, we would do it again. Good luck on your next 16 yrs. we dated 1 mon. got engaged and married 3 mos. later
We use Verizon’s hotspot Open makes things feel bigger and are generally brighter, too Budgets are always more than initially thought Yeah but you’ll be happier with those initial upgrades
27k for your build is incredible. We are budgeting 60k for our overlander box van build. Great job with Patreon, now ad t-shirts and merch, set up fiverr and upwork gigs, put your build tips on Udemy and skillshare as a small course (s) . These are all topics we are covering and more in our documentary about how a 10 yr old girl becomes a content creator and influencer with a goal of earning 40k a month in 1 year
What a great bike ride, I would want to do that every day!. Thanks for that video. But….how can you have so much fun when I have so much Fall yard work to do here in Rock Hill ? Ha! Take care, looking forward to the next video.
What I want to say to you guys is an advice, Please guys be very safe out and about and places you go to, not everyone is nice, always go with your gut instincts do not push it aside, security should be Top priority guys #1 . So be safe and good luck on your adventures and journey. Will be watching you guys, just subscribed, I have about 10 other van 🚐 schoolie 🚌 bus channels that I watch.
You could never get a house for that kind of money , not even a mobile home! Now, I want to say, I think that this should have been your First video! I had so many questions and in your first video which, I haven't watched yet, dove right into your build without any of these questions being answered. Does that even make sense? Anyway, it's just the way my little brain works and when you mentioned math I just cringed! 🤣💜
Just Subscribed, Y'all ROCK👍🏾💯‼‼‼ Very Honest and Upfront, just watch your Vlog with the Breakdown in NC. Hope ALLs Good Now and COVID-19 Free. Safe Travels and Blessings🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾‼‼‼
Your choice of insulation was a good one. You only need one small change in the way you installed it, to make you happy. The metal struts were not quite as "thick" as the foam. Cut some thin pieces of wood, and glue tham to the metal, to "shim" them out to the same thickness as the foam. It might be a pain in the butt to do now, but you could probably still do that.
You two are so cute! Great job on your skoolie! I get really bad carsickness, too, so I have a tip for you. If I sit at the front of the bus I don't get carsick. You can put a seatbelt set-up on your couch up front and then you guys wont be at opposite ends of the bus anymore.
Thank you for answering my question rock on. I have a lot of friends that work on the road full time. If you need some ideas let me know. I am more then happy to help you out. Rock on peace love and hippies
Wow!!! $27,000 for that bus is awesome!!!! It is beautiful! Congrats to you for doing it yourselves! I can't wait to hear how the Amazon workforce is. Thousand Island is also good on a sandwich. Be careful when you go out west. There have recently been some murders of campers there. Always be aware of your surroundings, etc. Prayers for your safe travel. Looking forward to hearing more from you. (Jane in SC)
Thanks so much! We're happy that we didn't go too far out of our original budget. This bus is worth every penny...to us anyway! 😄 Thousand Island on a sandwich is something we'll have to try! 💚
@@JimmyandNatalie I think y'all have done a gorgeous job (I wish we had the skills to do this). You will be able to be proud of yourselves your entire lives and be able to say, "We did this!" I don't think you would be able to find even a Tiny House that is this beautiful for $27,000. Well done!!! (Jane)
WOW, that's amazing! 50 states sounds awesome, but 50 years is truly something to be proud of and thankful for. Jimmy and I hope to be so lucky 😊 Happy early anniversary!! ❤️ And thanks for subscribing! 😄

I eat ranch on my sandwiches too. And on any other possible food. Spaghetti is the best!!! I love your build and i think you two are the cutest couple!! ❤
great stuff, nice to see you young kids doing things like this and exploring, traveling and more! wish you all the best! Been watching your build as someday I would love to have a shuttle bus or van or something to travel the country in.
If you’re interested in insurance for a conversion, we are going through State Farm in South Dakota (where we are tag and titling our vehicles). Our 38.5” bus is getting insured at $27k and it’s less than $400/year. And yay for skooliepalooza!!! We will keep an eye out for you! We are leaving from Pennsylvania so I get the trip hesitation!! It’s a big journey! We haven’t even moved in to ours and we are daydreaming about our second bus lol!!! We think we might just park this one somewhere as an Airbnb.
Oh that’s cool! And sounds promising since we are also going through StateFarm for some of our insurance now. Hope to see you at Skooliepalooza! I’d love to see your build! 😄
@@patrickrheaume9260 that’s true, however the average property tax in America is only 2400 a year. Think about how much you can rent a property out for with air bnb or traditional rentals. A house built 10 years ago has done nothing but go up in value 100’s of thousands of dollars in the past few years. A van from 10 years ago continues to lose value each mile it’s driven and everyday that goes by
Hello Jim & Nat, I got to learn a good bit on how this came about for y'all, and where it's going! On the questions I had asked you, I actually had my answers. I didn't want to answer them on the Q/A. I will answer them now... 1) "The FREEDOM to go or stay where I want and to see and explore things and places I wouldn't if I stayed at home. 2) Getting in an Accident or Breaking Down. Either one would be bad. You two are adorable, beautiful young couple with some good sense to reach y'alls dreams and goals. I will be watching when you post to see what comes about in your travels! Tennessee is beautiful, I lived south of Nashville for 20 years. There is a whole bunch to do there when you're not working. See y'all on the next pass through! 👍 🚃 👋 😉
Fully agree with your answers, we both really love the freedom that comes with this lifestyle. 😁Thanks so much for following our journey! 💚 We can't wait to see where the road takes us, and we have always had great times while visiting Tennessee! The mountains are absolutely beautiful there 😊

Banff and Jasper are my back yard and are breathtakingly beautiful.🏞️💕✌️🇨🇦
The place where you became engaged ... Good bus name ... Peace
Banff is an excellent goal and destination (1 of my favorite) if you are that far going a bit further and seeing the Columbia glacier, water falls geography on way to Jasper is not to miss either. But it maybe to far for you.
Depending on the time and season, we'd LOVE to go check those out as well!
Our son LOVES ranch dressing on spaghetti noodles. He just about lived on it when he first moved out on his own. It's a really budget friendly meal.
Funny I just watched your latest video, (which is my 1st time seeing your channel) and then just finished this one, & I'm laughing bc you are planning your next build & selling the bus which is opposite of what you are saying in this video.😂
I'm excited to do a marathon of your channel to see what took you from "we plan on staying in the bus long-term." To... "We are selling the bus, renting an apartment, & buying a Van to build out!" You should definitely re-watch this video.☺️
I love your spontaneity!! You are an inspiration!
✌️🙏💖
Super job on the first Q&A. Thanks for sharing with all of us.
$144. Waiting for the RV title in the mail 😄👍
Next, getting pictures for Allstate to get this thing insured.
Peace.
Top of my head for a name is the Green Machine.
Good luck on your next 16 yrs. we dated 1 mon. got engaged and married 3 mos. later
Hi guys - don’t even know you but proud of your for letting us see your vulnerabilities
Thank you 😊❤️
Awesome
Thanks!
I went to Banff and Lake Louise 2 years ago and it was beautiful. You won't regret that trip!
Very fun & informative Thanks! be Well Be Safe & Stay Blessed.
Greetings from New York City: Waiting on the tour……. So far, BRILLIANT!!!! Ciao guys
Fundy bay is a great and beautiful area.
I’m going back in your videos since new to your channel and I know you are enjoying Banff now 😁
We use Verizon’s hotspot
Open makes things feel bigger and are generally brighter, too
Budgets are always more than initially thought
Yeah but you’ll be happier with those initial upgrades
27k for your build is incredible. We are budgeting 60k for our overlander box van build. Great job with Patreon, now ad t-shirts and merch, set up fiverr and upwork gigs, put your build tips on Udemy and skillshare as a small course (s) . These are all topics we are covering and more in our documentary about how a 10 yr old girl becomes a content creator and influencer with a goal of earning 40k a month in 1 year
Hey that sounds like that will be a very fun build! 😄 We just checked out your rig plans on your YT page and it looks like a really cool!
@@JimmyandNatalie Thanks it will be our documentary HQ while filming
What a great bike ride, I would want to do that every day!. Thanks for that video.
But….how can you have so much fun when I have so much Fall yard work to do
here in Rock Hill ? Ha!
Take care, looking forward to the next video.
You guys should also do UA-cam live videos. Some creators can make $500 for 1 hour of being live.
We have started to think the possibility of doing a livestream soon… 🤔
What I want to say to you guys is an advice, Please guys be very safe out and about and places you go to, not everyone is nice, always go with your gut instincts do not push it aside, security should be Top priority guys #1 . So be safe and good luck on your adventures and journey. Will be watching you guys, just subscribed, I have about 10 other van 🚐 schoolie 🚌 bus channels that I watch.
Get married asap you dont have to spend anything get married in the bus!
Waited for a Skoolie Wedding!!! Outstanding.
Thank you so much!! 😊❤️
Definitely want to know about the window coverings. Really neat
I love them too, I like the cooking 🧑🏼🍳 segment
Your choice of insulation was a good one. You only need one small change in the way you installed it, to make you happy. The metal struts were not quite as "thick" as the foam. Cut some thin pieces of wood, and glue tham to the metal, to "shim" them out to the same thickness as the foam. It might be a pain in the butt to do now, but you could probably still do that.
Another 'bus build'? Sure!
Thanks!👍
Hey, anything could happen! 😂
Thanks for watching!
@@JimmyandNatalie Would be another great...or better 'schoolie'!🤗
We’ll definitely need some time to wind down from the first build though! Haha 😂😅
Thanks for leaving a question! 💚 And thanks so much for the offer to help, we'll be sure to let you know if we need advice on that 😊
(Jane)
You two are so cute. I am really enjoying your videos. Thank you for sharing your adventures.
Just subscribed! In June I just finished visiting my 50th state! So excited! so you'll love traveling On Oct. 30th is our 50th wedding anniversary!
WOW, that's amazing! 50 states sounds awesome, but 50 years is truly something to be proud of and thankful for. Jimmy and I hope to be so lucky 😊 Happy early anniversary!! ❤️ And thanks for subscribing! 😄
Hi guys
I just joined your channell and I think you guys are awesome.😎
I can't wait to see 👀what's next
stay safe & enjoy your journeys👍🏼
And wishing you a
Happy New Year 💖
Not sure if you follow.. but some of these channels did vanlife with The Nomadic Movement.. they're building houses.. and doing other things now.. but I love them..
Eamon & Beck
Trent & Allie
Vanwives
Hannah Lee Duggan
Isabel Paige
Tyler and Tucker.. or Tucker and Tyler.. ?
There's more they just don't come to mind!
You may or may not like them.. ♥️
We’ve definitely heard of (and watch!) the first 3… we’ll have to check out the others!
I eat ranch on my sandwiches too. And on any other possible food. Spaghetti is the best!!!
I love your build and i think you two are the cutest couple!! ❤
Haha we have yet to try it on spaghetti! Maybe we should give it a shot 😅
❤️❤️
great stuff, nice to see you young kids doing things like this and exploring, traveling and more! wish you all the best! Been watching your build as someday I would love to have a shuttle bus or van or something to travel the country in.
Thanks so much! We certainly are excited to start traveling. It feels like we've been building up to this moment for so long! 😄
And great idea! 😄
This gives me a lots history…. Tks

You cant buy a house anywhere for 27,000 dollars and one that is totally self sustaining....BIG WIN .....in my opinion. Absolutely gorgeous home.
Very good point! That's really not a bad price when you look at it that way. Thanks so much! 😄
It’s an apples to oranges comparison. A house is an asset that appreciates in value and a bus is an asset that declines in value
@@JimmyandNatalie not to mention it's mobile yeah
@@Teadrinker710 but no body pays property tax on a bus. You own it, lock stock and Barrel.
@@patrickrheaume9260 that’s true, however the average property tax in America is only 2400 a year. Think about how much you can rent a property out for with air bnb or traditional rentals. A house built 10 years ago has done nothing but go up in value 100’s of thousands of dollars in the past few years. A van from 10 years ago continues to lose value each mile it’s driven and everyday that goes by
Stay Safe out there my Friends ❤️
Thank you ❤️ We will take care of each other 😊
Hello Jim & Nat, I got to learn a good bit on how this came about for y'all, and where it's going!
We can't wait to see where the road takes us, and we have always had great times while visiting Tennessee! The mountains are absolutely beautiful there 😊
Try to make it to parker, Arizona in jan 22 for Skoolie palooza bus and van meet up.
We definitely plan to be there!!
NATALIE, ISAAC, FROM SCHOLIANA IS ORDAINED & CAN PERFORM WEDDINGS. HE & JAYLENA JUST DID A WEDDING FOR A COUPLE ON THE COAST OF OREGON. HE CAN ALSO SING & PLAY THE GUITAR, & JAYLENA DOES THE WEDDING VIDEO. SINCE THEY ARE ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE U-TUBERS, CHECK IT OUT, THERE IS A LOT TO SEE & DO IN OREGON. GOOD LUCK & HAPPY TRAVELS.
Thanks! We might have to really consider that 😄 We have thought about doing the wedding in the western US... 🤔
Great q&A love the pictures, my favorite is the one when you're both engaged and yeah you wouldn't want to get rid of your baby which that's pretty much how I see your schooly as your baby anyway, look forward to more videos and be well! 😊🌴🌻✌️
