Appreciate the valuable feedback from everyone but keep in mind I had to condense this video down and remove things I wouldve talked about because of the video length becoming too long.
I hate how there used to be tons of different gamemodes you could play back in the day but there are only a few of them still being somewhat played or hosted
I always loved Slender Fortress. It's easily my favourite community mode, the amount of creativity and care put into it is really warming. And it also has a long history with a pretty nice and funny community. I used to play it a lot in like 2016-2017, but couldn't find any not empty servers in like 2021... But now I found one, and it is amazing! So many new bosses added, it feels so much more alive now. I also got definitely better at actually escaping as RED. Even maps themselves are amazing, especially how each of them designs its BLU waiting zone, with a ton of different activities and secrets
If you're making a sequel video, please check out the Super Zombie Fortress gamemode. It has a decently large playercount if you play quite early in the morning in ur timezone or the weekends and it's covered by Great Blue some years ago which is responsible for getting me hooked on to the gamemode since. I recommend you try it out!
Zombie Medics vs. Engineers got SNUBBED. If you make a sequel, please include it! I think it is by far the best community gamemode out there (or Stop That Tank).
If a sequel comes around, I how you look at Stop That Tank. It’s a payload/MvM hybrid that I played the heck out of back then, but right now all the servers are dead [loud tombstone noise]
Personally, I miss Uber Upgrades, despite how outdated it is. Upgrading everything with essentially no caps (or caps raised real high) was always a blast. Could do things like jump partway to the skybox, make a beggars bazooka basically puke 200 rockets in a few seonds, among a lot of other crazy shit. There was a Russian Server that made its own plugin, though, "Custom Upgrades," Which was a complete remake, and had features like holding crouch to buy 10, R to buy 100, and crouch + r to buy 1k, while holding space lets you sell. It also had a boatload of custom upgrades, like an upgrade for the caber to let it be reusable, upgrade for the quickfix to let you switch off of it but still have its uber effect in effect, an AOE heal, among a lot of other neat custom upgrades for a wide variety of weapons. Sadly, after the 64bit update, I haven't seen either the PVP server, nor the MVM server, crop up ever again. It makes me sad.
the überupgrades steam group had developers (might have been just one guy, i dont remember) continuously tease a "rework" (/revival) that included extra features for what felt like a full decade, while still soliciting donations. there were almost never any public progress on said rework, with the most being a single video that showcased a feature to pick up upgraded weapons from others (that didn't really fit üu anyway, since it worked between classes too???), along with a very vague implication that "it's coming soon" (for many years). like most steam groups, it essentially was abandoned with almost none of the original people that owned it still checking in (other than to say, "it's coming" over and over). there was an attempt to make a discord, but looking into it, it seems most people have given up, and anything that isn't just chatting is locked to admin only. so if you were wondering if üu was ever gonna have any revival, it's best to give up hope, the developers essentially stopped caring and fumbled away the community that _was_ looking forward to it coming back
a gamemode i didn't see mentioned was Slender Fortress and in the comments, it still has people playing them you can get even full 32 player servers but only at certain hours and some servers became private
I remember there was this one sever that ran a gm_bigcity map and had some plugins to where it just made the game even more wacky. There’s a server that has that map in its rotation but it’s just not the same
If you make a sequel video it would be cool if you took a look at stuff like tug of war, snipers, instagib and defuse, give a little light to obscure gamemodes
@@BigBoiGames np. im pretty new to the tf2 community so it was interesting looking at the cool gamemodes y'all came up with! shame half of them are dead nowadays

Slender_swarm. I played that map for the first time, almost a decade ago. Man...

but honestly, what a shame. üu was such a great gamemode, so many fond memories of playing it.
Pyro dodgeball was always fun and had a few dedicated players
good video bro
Appreciate it

I thought you'd come with some rare gamemodes, but I know all of these. Gotta try a little harder than that.
balloon race v1 or the beta version was the best
If you make a sequel video it would be cool if you took a look at stuff like tug of war, snipers, instagib and defuse, give a little light to obscure gamemodes
good idea
I originally had a much bigger list before but it wouldve made the video too long
ahh i loved balloon race one of my fav game modes i played it a lot when younger, i also did alot of death run but idk if thats still popular or not
Deathrun is popular but not as much as vsh which is why i didn't include it
Only skial deathrun servers get players
Parkour Fortress
