Final opinion about Darius and Brooklynn. I've shipped them from the beginning of the show and even though they won't be together, I still love them. They will just always be my favorite duo.

Dude, yes! I honestly don't know what the writers were thinking about makin' Brooklyn x Kenji "canon" in season 4. Like what the fuck? Even when Kenji's been hovering around Brooklyn like a puppy/bodyguard, Darius is on her mind 24/7.
Look at this. 2:22 this is the reaction of someone trying to step in on a dude's girl, and is scared of getting a beatdown with his straight up confession.
"Like I wanna date your girl."
He was cowering all timidly behind that plank and he's 17 and Darius is 13!
Darius is more mature and level headed than Kenji when push comes to shove.
Yeah, he's not interested in girls like Kenji, but if Brooklyn wanted to be a couple with Darius I'm sure he'll be cool and give it his all.
That's just my 2 cents on the matter.

Touching. I love that you added scenes from S4 too. Tbh I felt Darius' shocked expression was a little too prolonged for someone who doesn't care or is meant to be happy for them. Anyway brilliant edit as always! If anything, I still love their friendship, they have the best character interaction and dynamic in the show imo.
Yess I agree. I believe this was intentional. First they are acknowledging that the ENTIRE Fandom knows that there's something beneath the surface between Brooklynn and Darius. Second, I belive this is a possible off ramp. What I mean is that I don't believe Kenji and Brooklynn are set in stone. I think their future depends upon fan reaction. In the event that they decide to go back to dinostar, then they can fall back to this scene and show his reaction behind the closed door.
Personally I think he was hurt and confused....likely having believed there was something there but now wondering if it was all in his head. Knowing Darius’s self sacrificing character he'd likely play it off as being happy for them so as not to get in the way or their happiness....this would explain why he was so...overly...happy.

@@Unislays well they clearly received the memo about most of the fandom's displeasure about Brooklynn and Kenji. They kept their moments to a minimum and gave us a crap load of beautiful dinostar moments....I mean seriously..."I'll follow you anywhere" ........how the heck is Brooklynn not realizing that her real match is Darius. Come on, she had absolutely zero feeling for Kenji till he showed interest in her...she clearly loves the idea of being liked over the person liking her...she just doesn't realize that yet. Craving validation has kinda been her thing all along after all.
Anyway it looks like she's in London and Kenji’s in California. Kenji isn't the most loyal and in fact, he almost looks guilty when she says she'll call him tonight. If he betrays her trust again....there ain't no coming back. And I got a sneaking suspicion who's gonna be there to pick up the pieces....same one who was ALWAYS there. This time she'll see it.
At least that's how it works in my head...

@@Unislays after having gone back and re-watching each season an unhealthy number of times, it's clear that Kenji has in fact always had a thing for Brooklynn. Brooklynn on the other hand never showed the slightest interest in Kenji...she did however show interest in Darius and gave him multiple opertunities to make a move. Darius on the other hand was completely oblivious, other than possibly the scene at the end of season 3 where Darius tells Brooklynn it wasn't all bad, not by a long shot. The look he gives her indicates he's talking about meeting her...and her playful shoulder bump in return shows the message is received loud and clear.
Then everything shifted in season 4. Kenji made a move, Darius didn't. It's quite likely that she was beginning to give up on her one sided crush. Then here comes Kenji with a crush on her and suddenly she feels special, beautiful.....wanted. it all makes sense really.
I belive Darius realized everything too late...if at all. Think back to his completely shocked reaction to finding out Brooklynn and Kenji were a thing in season 4...followed by his heavily overcompensating happiness...we get another scene of him being oddly overly happy when Brooklynn and Kenji decide to have their first date in season 5....though Darius doesn't seem terribly broken up that she misses said date.
Also it's clear that Kenji knows there's something under the surface between Brooklynn and Darius. Think back to season 3 when Brooklynn breaks out of Kenji’s hug to run and hug Darius. In the scene of them hogging, for a split second, you have Kenji’s jawline in the foreground staring at them. It's also why he was so angry at Darius, even though he was following through with what Brooklynn wanted....jealously is a powerful thing. It's also the real reason Kenji wanted to tell Darius personally.....does anyone seriously believe it was about his reaction on the boat or about things changing?....no.
This is also brought into focus when Brooklynn is a no show at the date and Daniel makes sure to tell Kenji he saw Brooklynn out with Darius...suddenly that old jealously starts to pop up.
If we jump ahead to the end of season 5, we notice it's Darius Brooklynn is calling to share her info on Lockwood with, she says she'll call Kenji later almost as an afterthought...this shows that Darius is still her most trusted confidante, even 2 years later.
This whole thing is the reason I write fan fiction. If cannon goes a way you don't like, you create your own story. I love putting way more thoughts and emotions into the story than the show ever dreamed of. Я так хотела чтоб их побольше вместе показывали. Каждый сезон когда выходил мы с сестрой надеялись что этих двоих будут показывать вместе. 4 сезон нас разочеровал. Они все время разделялись. 5 сезон была надежда, что не смотря на то что она встречается с кенджи, их все равно будут показывать. Не знаю почему но я немножко даже была рада тому что кенджи был на стороне отца, так хотябы было побольше моментов с дариусом и бруклин. А то бы ее с кенджи так и показывали бы😒
